McGavin is depressed and tells Arnold he wants to give up on learning to walk again and Arnie says, "Did you ever quit in front of Blair?" but it comes out "Did you evah queet in front of Blah?"

Red Heat and Raw Deal are my least favourite movies from Arnold's Imperial Era. They're OK, but the others during that decade were far more iconic and memorable. Its hard to follow Arnold in a "grounded" role in a police procedural or battling against organized crime. Arnold as a leading man is ridiculous and he shines best in ridiculous situations, especially Sci-Fi Action, like the Terminators, Predator, Running Man, Total Recall.
@bartsullivan48669 ай бұрын
Red Heat is still a lot better known. Raw Deal is often just forgotten because of Arnold's other films I remember Twins being very big, Predator and T2 being mega smash hits, Running Man kind of mediocre. But all of the films were entertaining without a doubt. He was on a role until Last Action Hero never cared for that one.

Arnold brings the feel of an action movie because he's larger than life. Just like in Terminator where the movie was supposed to be a sci-fi movie, it turns into an action movie as soon as Arnold is cast because of his larger than life presence. The man is a god as far as actors go, you will never hear me say a bad word about him, and i can't stand hollywood actors really.

I find the feud between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone to be quite interesting. It always seemed like Arnold Schwarzenegger was the slightly bigger star at the time but if you go through all their movies in the 80s and 90s how to make a tally of box office grosses and you'll see that Sylvester Stallone far outpaced Arnold Schwarzenegger in how much money their movies made which makes me think that Sylvester Stallone should be considered the winner. It still seemed like Arnold was the biggest star. I can say a couple of Arnold's biggest movies made a lot more money than any of Sylvester Stallone's biggest movies but Arnold only had a couple of those and some of his most iconic and memorable movies didn't actually make that much money at the movie theater. But Sylvester Stallone's movies did make money at the theaters much more consistently.

I think Stallone was the box office lead for the early to mid-80s as he was already established star with now established franchises to cash in on. Arnold clearly took over big time by the late 80s and most of the 90s. Arnold didnt have any critical duds for a decade while Stallone would get in a rut of mediocre and critical duds in the late 80s and early 90s during Arnolds prime.

The whole movie is a fun send-up of the genre, as evidenced by the dialogue and over the top violent action. And bonus points for whoever wrote the line "He molested, murdered, and mutilated her" and got Arnold to actually attempt to say it. Every action movie can't all be hits but IMO Raw Deal was one of those misfires for Arnold, it's one of those movies I haven't gone back and watch repeatedly as other Arnie flicks looking back it doesn't have as many classic Arnie quips and the tone as you said was more grittier it felt more like a Cannon flick that was turned down by Charles Bronson but then tweaked to fit Arnold's big screen charisma but somehow it just didn't register for audiences, and that Kathryn Harold was one gorgeous looking woman, she retired from acting sometime in the 90's and became a psychotherapist.
