I always enjoy your videos Jerry, I’m glad that Roberto is there to give you a hand. There’s no way I’m going back to film, I did it for more than 30 years, I had a darkroom, the enlarger, a print box, the whole nine yards, but when I got into digital a couple of years ago I closed up shop (my basement) and sold everything. When I went to photography school (back in the day) we had to learn how to use every type of camera, TLR, SLR, all the way up to 8X10 black and white negative film sheet, we called that one large format, or “full frame”. Looking forward to part 2. Be well and stay safe.

Wow Enrique you are very experienced. I wished i got into it all back in the 80s 90s with the whole process. I did it for work experience once at highschool. I guess im reliving it all now 😄 Jerry the master im the apprentice haha..

You’ve got all the right moves there Rob. The 35RC had me drooling. What an object of beauty. Very much enjoying the latitude that film brings to your photos 👏 Encore!

Yeah shes a beauty.. would be better if it worked properly.. so yes amazing how much lattitude film gives.. i was sweating they would all be blown out but film is very forgiving for stupid mistakes i made.. Jerry did try to warn me hahah

True. We want ownership in what we engage in. That makes it authentic and gives us a feeling we have crafted or created something. Human beings are meant to explore and be creative. Satisfying.

Yes that was the word i was trying to say in my ramblings. Satisfying.. 😄 i the process.. i need to consult you next time to write my script haha.. nicely said

I keep seeing young people with film camera’s on my photowalks. Whether it’s their parent’s camera’s or bought used, I don’’t know, but the popularity of film is undeniable. Maybe it’s partly because of the clinical look of digital photo’s. I have a few vintage lenses but definitely not going back to film.

True. Asked the photo lab guy and he said he is flat out busy. Its a fun thing every now and then to muck around with. Trying to find a cheap one that works is the challenge lol. 🤔 gotta stop shopping ebay

Super good video... I agree with your idea about it being fun.. it really is. Theres a delayed gratification. Great video, you got some really mint shots from that little beast!

Delayed gratification. Love it 👍yes Jerry is a photogenic little one. But she only poses for film 😆

Well done Rob…a very good video. Although I’ve got several film cameras in my collection I’m sticking to digital at the moment….until I am able to take better images and not waste film!
@robdido2 жыл бұрын
Yeah same here. I like the creative distraction every now and then to spice things up. So many old cameras out there that are tempting to buy.. part of the fun is ebaying a bargain to find it still works mint condition

Just got a Minolta/Dynax film camera from a friend. Bought Ilford sfx200 and will try to get some interesting b&w pics. The all mechanical snapshot sound and the curious feeling of not getting a result straight away will always be of interest for me I feel.
@robdido2 жыл бұрын
Cool. Your minimilsm b/w in instagram are very good. Film will add a bit of soul to them.. 😄 bring it in.. i bought a monobath developing kit. Going to try that next.. wish me luck.. no idea how it works but seems easy enough

@@robdido Thanks. As long as it’s fun and laid back it’s worth the time and money. Keep them videos coming, Jerry approves!

I can't say that I disagree at all Roberto. I'm not going to give up my digital cameras but there is just something about film that is different. Without my old OM10 I'm not sure that I would have learnt even half of what I now know about exposure and apertures. Everyone had to learn it! It teaches a bit of discipline in only have 36 pictures to take, and a bit of patience too while you wait for them to come back.

Yeah. A great way to slow down. If only i practice what say.. made some dumbo mistake on this video.. edited out hahah.. but only adds to the experience. I did ramble on a bit watching it back.. Lucky Jerry was there to distract.. 😆
