In this episode, Savannah gets some well needed work done, ánd I am exploring the gorgeous Cape Town a bit more. I ride around the colourful neighbourhood of Bo Kaap and attempt to get to the top of Table Mountain. Even though it's unfortunately too windy to get to the top, I will explain to you why this mountain is flat!

I am originally from South Africa 🇿🇦, living in the USA 🇺🇸 for last 20+ years riding a Harley. Watching Noraly ride through South Africa make me so homesick and allowing me to look back and re-fall-in-love with the unique beauty of this Amazing part of the world. Noraly, thank you for all the trips down memory lane and for everything you do to promote riding, positivity, endurance and most of all South Africa.

Hi Noraly, I went to Cape Town in 1970, I was 21 and with my new wife on our way home to Australia from Germany, we were on a ship as in those days flying was far to expensive … anyway we went from Canary Islands down to Cape Town, I knew about Table Mountain & wanted to see it from the top. As soon as the ship docked we were off & got on the first cable car of the day ( they were just big metal boxes I remember ) when we got to the top we were reprimanded for travelling up with some of the staff ( who were black, we had never experienced apartheid before. ). After only maybe half an hour the cloud dropped but we got some photos, no one else got to see the view that day because of the cloud ! On our way back into town we saw the massive black / white division that was in South Africa in those days ….. I really want to go back and see S.A. & Cape Town again …. From your video it looks amazing …. Thanks for showing places in such detail and un-biased perspective …… your travels are an eye opener ….. cheers from Australia ( p.s. I bought my first motorbike in 40 years after watching Itchy Boots for so long & yes it is a RE Himalayan …..

The road to the top of Mount Washington here in the eastern US is often closed for high winds. The views after you ride down were super.

Ran across this on Table Mt.'s website: “If there is expected wind we use indicators such as the amount of cloud cover over the Hottentots Holland mountains, the white horses (waves driven by the wind, resulting in broken white crests) on the Atlantic seaboard side, and the dark wind line over Table Bay. If the wind is approaching we will notice the cloud getting thicker over the Hottentots Holland mountains, the white horses will get closer towards Camps Bay, and the dark wind line will move closer to Robben Island.”

A pity that you rode past the original gardens at 8:39 (planted by Jan Van Riebeek) which led to the establishment of the Cape Colony and ultimately, “modern” South Africa. Also, missed the court where Nelson Mandela finally walked free - that’s his statue, waving (8:01). Nobel peace prize laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s mother church is the “old church” at 8:39... At 12:27 the peak on the left is Lion’s Head, the hill on the right is Signal Hill. Signal Hill is walkable, Lion’s Head is a tough climb.

Very informative talk on Table Mountain. Thank you Noraly. Signal Hill is above Bo Kaap, then you get Lion's Head, Table Mountain and then Devil's Peak, the area where the fire was. Love watching your channel.

A lot of thumbs up for the bike shop/owner. See if they can find an oiled foam air filter, much better than the stock paper element.
