Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord , and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7 KJV

TheBlubunni Few people would consider themselves to be “wicked” or “unrighteous”. Those are terms used only by “Christians” so that they can view themselves as better than they actually are. They prefer to call their own wickedness “mistakes” and they love to say “no one is perfect”. Both are total bale outs for the most vile of wicked rationalizing.

@@mr.c2485 I don't know why certain people keep commenting to me, but I don't get what you meant by "scared straight" program, do you mean God scares the straight out of you? God doesn't use the scared straight program (if it ever was a program, which is seriously a bad term for it) rather if God decides for men to fear, it is not the kind of fear that causes man to depart from God but rather towards Him. By remotely ethical, again please phrase this specifically if by ethical by means of the "program" you mentioned or what was mentioned in the Bible about violent verses then ethics itself is of a different matter. It may not be effective for you, but many people have truly seen what God meant by using such "program" that you stated. And I encourage you to listen to the Podcast once more.

Tim C. You sound like Mr. C. It’s fine if you agree with him. I don’t need you to agree with what I believe God is like or what the Bible say He’s like. God is not after man’s support or praise. He remains God even if we don’t praise or support Him (as if He ever needs our support or praise) And what you seem to be ethical or moral doesn’t really justify your statement because you are just making claims with no evidence or examples to back it up. Lastly, God did sent a supernatural being but more than a being, He sent Jesus Christ to tell the world about the Father, and Jesus said people like you won’t believe even if a person or supernatural being (paraphrasing) were to come, you’ll continue to question God because of your fallen nature of sin even when evidence presents itself to you He exists. It’s your problem, not the world’s.
@micahgrace7057
@micahgrace7057 4 жыл бұрын
Mr. C You clearly aren’t getting the point. I find this conversation futile so I am not obligated to reply to you. Whatever those “four reasons” are, human fear is not the only thing that makes people believe in God. I believe in God because I know Jesus died for my sins and He took away my fears and shame. Have a good day trying to cling to that “scared straight” program of yours.

Tim C. God cannot be proven with sightings or books...neither are demonstrable. We are limited to believing things that can be observed, tested, and duplicated. 1 kings would be of great help if someone could recreate it. Just soak a bunch of wood and call on whichever god you believe in to burn it up. Unfortunately, that’s not likely to happen. We’re stuck with asking what things are the most likely. Definitely, not a best case scenario, but it’s all we have. Whatever the case may be, there are three things I’ve discovered that apply to every person on the planet. Following these three premises has been invaluable to me over the years in giving me perspective on all things physical and possibly spiritual. Perhaps they may be of value to you as well.....interested?

Tim C. Premise #1. We all desire the same thing...soundness of mind. One that is not moved by the whims of men or the eventualities of life. Premise #2. Because of that fact, it stands to reason that anything that opposes that soundness must be addressed...wether positively or negatively. Premise #3. The use of malice..in any form..compromises the ability to accomplish or adequately satisfy premise #1 thus making premise #2 a negative thing rather than a positive one. These three can be observed and/or tested for accuracy and duplication. They can be attached to any person or life eventuality. Wether or not they become profitable can only be answered on a personal level. I invite you to test these for yourself for just 24hrs...your response is of interest to me. Thank you!

@heavnxbound
@heavnxbound 4 жыл бұрын
I haven’t heard his personal answer to this question, but he believes in reformed theology, so I guess he would answer it along the same way I would; and like Paul did in Romans. “The fall” happened in Genesis, sin was introduced in humans and nature “fell” (a fall from perfection) with humans. Things are no longer perfect the way God created it all, and that’s why nature is subject to imperfection and disease, natural disasters etc. I definitely don’t think (from a biblical perspective) that God causes any of it, it seems more logical that these things are consequences of our own actions (cancer in children is typically caused by genetics, diseases in parents and certain bad foods that the mother eats while pregnant, like carcinogenic food which transfers to the child), and God allows it to happen. He does stop some bad things from happening, and He often heals people, but He also brings good things out of the bad :) I hope that answers your question, God bless you!

The love of God is there all the time, in hardship and in success, and while everything falls apart in your life, you can comfort yourself knowing that God loves us all, I, everyone, you, and all the rest. The love of God is undeniable. It's the love of mankind that is imperfect. That's why Jesus taught us to love others like he loved everyone. That's stronger than the love of a parent for the offspring, it's God's sole son delivering the message that God do love us. God do forgive us. But do we forgive one another? Do we love one another? God can show us that some people have a heart, yes. But a world that truly reflects the love of God is a world of people that undeniably loves everyone else.

@@user-fq7ii3ub4m Why is God violent? Why is man so violent? You ever ask yourself that question? Seriously why is mankind so friggin' wickedly evil? I used to ask questions like yours then I realized it wasn't God it's US. It's US that does horrible things. People don't like being punished, and that's what God does to violent, raping, thieving, lying, hypocritical people like ourselves. Although some may not rape or murder EVERYONE is a liar, and EVERYONE has stolen SOMETHING..... most commandments we have actually broken whether we have the guts to admit it or not. So to answer your question why is God so violent? Look at human kind and tell me we're not violent. God killed the Canaanites and their children and their babies because the curse upon them was upon their entire culture. You don't like that. You don't agree with that. That's who God is. Whether you like it or not God punishes most severely. This is why churches all over have tried to make God seem friendlier and "nicer". That's not who God is. I've been under demonic attack since I was 7.... SINCE I WAS 7 YEARS OLD. I don't know why, but at 43 years old this is where I stand. The Holy Spirit has spoken to me. THE DEVIL has driven me to the point of suicide and praying to God to kill me or make it so I was never born. That's what God did and has been doing to me since I was 7. I've been beaten up, flung down hallways, called a faggot and a pussy all throughout my childhood even by my own family members alongside of someone trying to KILL ME in Lake Erie by the time I was 13. Those are small tidbits of my childhood. If you like I haven't even touched the worst parts yet, nor mentioned my adult life. Nothing has ever work out for me.... ever. But this is what he wants whether I want it or not.... and most days I don't but I accept it.... wishing I would die already but I still accept it. My life has been nothing but a tragic irony. So.... not only have I seen God's unhappy side since I was 7, I've been privy to mankind's violent and malevolent nature as well then turning back and blaming God for their punishment. Hmmmm.... another tragic irony I have to say..... It isn't that God is so violent.... it's that sin must be punished just like everything else out there that is wrong either by a spanking or in the court room or in prison punishments exist for a reason.

Question: Why do Christians always speak about God as it was a He? Does God have a gender!? Really..?

Tho this was posted a year ago. As a Christian. Its because hes often talked about as a fatherly figure. Like the "father, son and the holy spirit". I think its not meant to be taken all literally as if hes a man. I believe its more logical to think hes a spirit. But its a reason we say "he". I hope thay explains it!

You have to remember the old testament is virtually ancient and yes these things did happen, along comes the birth of Christ ( The New Testament ) and the covenant was different, Jesus didn't work with violence

Violence is how he shows his love? Are you kidding me? This is probably the justification for all the beatings that children have had to endure at the hands of authoritarian parents and teachers and preachers. I think what is referred to as apologetics is just simply the abuse of humankind.

All scripture is inspired...but can we question as to what is truly scripture? I am not convinced that everything we call the Bible is truly God breathed. This guy is just talking...but common senses will prevail. I love the word of God...but some of the stuff in the bible...which has nothing to do with salvation...God will have to tell and explain to me in his time. Right now. . I refuse to believe that my Father God breathed some of those things. They simply have no value and has been used by wicked man to justify all kinds of offenses to humanity.

There is not one word of "scripture" in the world not written by a human being. There is not one claim in or about "scripture" not made by a human being. There is not one interpretation of "scripture" not made by a human being. This goes for all scriptures of all religions anywhere on Earth. True, there are plenty of spiritually valuable excerpts among the world's religious writings. ¿But "God breathed?" NO. Paul of the NT was a fallible human. Just because Paul believed what he wrote doesn't make it accurate. There is also the possibility that he didn't actually 100% believe what he wrote. ¿How many examples can you find of humans telling others what to believe-not because it was true, but because they felt it was "for the best" for those others to believe whatever it is they were supposed to believe? Parents to their children Shepards to their "flock"

Probably going to get flak for this, but ‘The Lord/Yahweh’ is Satan. Jesus is the same forever and ever, and Jesus and the Father are one, correct? There’s a contradiction. Nothing Jesus ever commanded, promised or taught ever brought forth or glorified violence. Also, need I remind everyone he rebuked his own followers for wanting to call down fire on their enemies? How he preached about the sanctity and importance of children? It is also said… a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. If Satan is referred to be the one that ‘holds the Power of Death’… does God borrow Satan’s power to kill? Of course not. Jesus says no one has ever heard his father’s voice before now… and yet then who was speaking audibly to Moses? Who spoke loudly to the Israelites? Jesus says oaths are FROM THE EVIL ONE. Who asks the Israelites to swear oaths? Yahweh/Lord, not Father. And need I also say Satan’s #1 Goal? To be worshipped as god. Check out the Good God channel or Good God Ministries website if you want to know more. God bless.

I’m just like god. I enjoy leaving loaded weapons lying around the house for my kids to find. If they truly love and trust me, they will leave my things alone. If not...well...they’ve been warned. Even if my toddler shoots and kills my wife...well...we’re all better for it. How else will he learn about his nature and his responsibility to god and others.

Well, there is not a single unique "god" in the Old Testament. There are multiple "gods" being worshipped in the Old Testament. There are two possibilities: 1) The Hebrews made up a "god" to justify atrocities as they needed. 2) The Hebrews, at least in some of their books, essentially worship one or more demons. Even the possibility that they had encountered non-human beings from outer space is a million times more plausible to explain Deuteronomy than the "God" it describes. It is a very naive and immature claim that "scriptures" are the "Word of God." Every last word of every last scripture on Earth was written down by a fallible human being. Every last claim in or about these scriptures was/is made by a fallible human being. Every last interpretation of these scriptures was/is made by a fallible human being. This is indisputable FACT. This must be acknowledged by everyone for humanity as a whole to make any further spiritual progress at all. May God bless you Pastor John, every member of your extended family and circles of friends, every one of your KZbin subscribers, and every being any of you interact with in any way, with a thousand orders of magnitude acceleration of your spiritual evolution.
