Well, BoBF was made under two production teams. One was KK’s, the other was F&F who put a warning into the show that KK’s fingers had worked their way into the show. This is why I am worried about Kenobi. Announced by KK. Written under KK’s watch. Just how much of KK’s influence got into Kenobi should be concerning to all fans.

"Boba was nursed back to health by sand people" No he wasn't lol, he got enslaved, beaten and dragged across scorching hot desert. The only reason why he didn't eventually die of exhaustion, wounds or dehydration was because he saved a kid from a completely random machamp that just happened to live in the middle of nowhere. He earned their respect by being useful, but there was absolutely no reason why he should become attached to those barbarians. The only thing they gave to him was a stick, a cool one, but still a fucking stick. That whole plotline was just actual stockholm syndrome. Also personally I wouldn't say any of the action scenes in book of boba were cool, especially not the finale. It felt so fucking embarrasing, they just stood there getting shot at by like 15 guys, but nothing happens because Favreau used the console to turn on god mode for them.

To be fair, that’s not just a stick. The gaffi-stick is basically the symbol of their culture. It’s like being given a lightsaber by a Jedi, or a Harley from a biker. Boba making his own gaffi-stick means he’s an honorary member of the tribe, he’s receiving their culture in the form of a stick. It’s not something they make for just anyone. That being said, I don’t like how it all came about. Boba shouldn’t have been swayed to liking them, I could see if he just became their best champion or whatever in order to survive, sort of like Conan being the finest gladiator in the old Arnold-movie. They should prize having such a warrior as Fett, but maybe he only cares about the fight, or having no other goal just tags along until he finds his armour. Better yet would be if he totally subjugated the Sand people, having them look for the jawas who took his armour, and instead of being just an honorary member he becomes their dictator or chief by force.

Also, no, Dev, Boba Fett doesn't just "use his armour's tech to escape the Sarlacc" and " get nursed back to health by the Sand People." He uses a flamethrower in such a tight and enclosed space that I'm surprised he didn't also set himself on fire. He then loses his armor to Jawas, and gets _enslaved_ by the Tusken Raiders. For some reason, he doesn't immediately try and kill them all and escape with his life to one of the Mos cities after taking some of their supplies. It only mirrors other tales that tell the story you just said because it was trying to do those stories, and it did them poorly.

I'm sorry Dev, but the Boba Fett "hero's journey" was bullshit. He was literally violently enslaved by the sand people, at best he's got a serous case of Stockholm syndrome since he didn't just kill to get away when he had the chance. It would of made a whole hell of a lot more sense if he was "saved and nursed back to health" like you phrased it, but he wasn't. He was treated as completely expendable labor. My guess is the original plan was to have him escape but somewhere during the writing they decided to make the sand people quasi " indigenous people representation" crap so they made Boba just fall in love with this backwards tribe of violent slavers. Hell, didn't the biker gang Boba ends up murdering end up not being the guys who killed the sand people? Talk about a shitty "hero."

I think he agreed it was shitty because it didn’t really make sense. All he was saying was that it started good, and then as soon as the sand people-stuff got the main focus it sucked. He should’ve destroyed them, and I think the fighting style should’ve been Mandalorian in nature, but with sand people-weapons. That would further establish him as a true Mandalorian. If they did that people would just complain that it was all action and no substance and boring, and they'ed be right. They'ed beg for a show where Boba wasn't a one dimensional character, they'ed say that as people age their views tend to change and they look at things differently. You do see little glints of the old Boba gleaming through that new paint job, you do get hints that there's more to it than we've been shown. Boba has changed, but in some ways he's still the same. He's got a bigger plan, but he's staying quiet on it. Then again, from all the complaints I've been seeing people want their hand held and everything fed to them immediately, which is kind of funny cause the same people bitch about other shows that do just that. I could go on an on about some of the things that nobody is picking up on that weren't that heavily hidden, the hints were pretty heavy, bust most of the complaints make it pretty obvious that people didn't even pay attention when they watched because they act like obvious parts didn't happen at all, or happened differently than they did. I guess we're just watching reviews and reading comments by people who couldn't put down Raid Shadow Legends while writing a video on the fly about something they didn't even half engage with at the time and living their "If I was Boba Fett I'd fuck Twi`Leks and kill people for no reason at all" fantasy instead of seeing what was actually there. A show just about bounty hunting, that's all action, no logic, no story, about a guy who never talks just wouldn't work, or it'd already be the number 1 show format because it'd cost almost nothing to make compared to other formats. They even came right out years ago and said they were going to make a bunch of interconnected spinoffs with characters that went between series, kinda like how novels work, and people are complaining that a few episodes focused on other characters and everyone went crazy over the idea. Then when they did what they said they were doing all along people went nuts and probably broke grandma's nickname collection in the basement she so graciously let them live in, because apparently they've never read a book or seen an ensemble driven show or movie before where the focus shifts from time to time. I guess I should get off my soapbox though, I'm kinda breaking the sound of the echo chamber, I just can't help but notice it's the same points, in the same order, said the same way, like one guy made a video and now everybody who couldn't be bothered to pay attention or form their own opinion just endlessly repeat it to feel connected to something they never attempted to fully connect to. It's almost like people are just looking for something that's trendy to complain about and getting all the talking points down for the water cooler conversation so they sound like they know what they're saying.

I'm glad there are some sane people calling out how old and fat Boba is. You try looking it up through a search engine and you get shitty results saying anyone who calls it out is fat shaming. It doesn't make sense, especially since he's old and fat the moment he leaves the Sarlaac pit. Why did they choose this guy to be the actor? They could have used a young actor for the flashbacks and someone else for when he's older; though I highly doubt a bounty hunter constantly on the move would be fat.

Morrison's got a great voice, but having someone else be the suit actor with the helmet on almost all the time and using digital de-aging for his head on the rare occasions he takes it off would have made a lot more sense. Or just setting the show further into the future to match his age, but then you can't have your crossovers.

My gripe with “Star Wreck” as I call new Trek (both STD and Picard) is there’s a good chunk of things that flies in the face of pre-established canon, such as nonexistent material needs (TNG: The Neutral Zone), racism being a foreign concept (TOS: Last Battlefield) and that dilithium doesn’t just detonate out of nowhere, that only happens with flawed/unstable crystals such as the Klingon dilithium power plant exploding in one of the movies

The Progressives want a neutral pronoun without the inhuman insinuations of English's gender neutral 'it,' so they are trying to co-opt the neutral plural 'they' and turn that into a general use gender neutral term for both plural and singular. Sadly for them, subject-verb agreement is an important part of English, so phrases like 'they is' and 'she are' sound really fucking stupid. You can't have a necessarily plural subject be used as a singular or vice versa.

In the immortal words of the defeatable Rich Evans: "Star Wars is a small story set in a large universe." It seems like there is endless potential for stories, action, and adventure, but there really isn't. "Misfits team up to defeat evil empire" is a timeless story for a reason. Wokeness and politics aside, there really isn't that much interesting stuff in Star Wars as you think there is. Also, Boba Fett is a bum character who does nothing for 2 movies and then gets accidentally killed by a blind guy. The show is basically true to his real film character.

It was still only a decent flick, but it stayed within the constraints of the universe, built on existing events (if only a little) and didn't break anything or go particularly woke. The best thing Disney could have done was produce a few TV shows that were 6/10’s and maybe a film. These would be small stories like a heist film or even The Mandalorian that didn’t effect main films or any books/lore etc. That way you can build up fandom, stay away from anything that’ll annoy anyone until people trust you and earn trust when you decide to adapt things like Thrawn etc. accurate to the expanded universe. There was a show called ‘The Magnificent Century’ about the Ottoman Empire. It had very few sets, everything was from the perspective of the characters in the harem and it was fascinating but simple. Imagine something similar with that slave village Anakin grew up in and how you could tell a story like ‘Gladiator’ in the Star Wars universe? You’d rarely see Jedi, bounty hunters or the Empire but you’d be invested in the characters not the spectacle. I don’t have blue hair so will never get a job for Disney or whatever. But it’s better than the Book of Ethan Ralph’o Fett.

The business model of Disney does not care about making money from shows or movies. The shows and movies are basically advertisements for Disney Land. They don’t care if the directors and writers hate these IPs and actively destroy the IP as long as they put in the characters and locations so people go to the theme parks for those IPs.

Maybe it's just because I grew up watching it, but I personally didn't think the CGI Clone Wars show was terrible. Sure, the animation looked really rough at times in the early seasons, but it got much better as the show progressed. It went downhill right around the time that Disney purchased Lucasfilm, and it never got a proper series finale until 2020. If only they had left out the 4 episode arc about two annoying sisters smuggling space cocaine, I think it would've been the perfect end to the show (seriously though, those sisters get captured by pykes 5 times in four episodes.) As someone who grew up watching the Clone Wars series, I think the final two episodes covering Order 66 did a great job wrapping up the show. The animation looked better than it ever had, and the final scene of Ahsoka and Captain Rex burying the rest of the clones always makes me a little emotional.

Honestly what I loved about Boba Fett was I didn’t know anything about him. All I ever thought of Boba was a badass looking, cold blooded side villain, nothing else. Episode 2 gave me the perfect amount of insight into the character, he took on his fathers mantle and joined the empire. I also love that we never knew if he survived the pit giving his fate more interpretation. He never needed to be this big character with a larger purpose in the universe. The mystery of character is what made him special to me and now that’s slowly been removed through Mando and this show

Cool vídeo on the book of boba fett. What you've identified is something called Storyboard writing. Its akin of old Anime dub scenes in which voice actors wouldnt really get a script to read off but rather a list of bullet points theyd have to mention in a recording scene and keep talking convincingly to fill the mouthflaps of japanese characters still enunciating their longer words in japanese language. When Disney started hiring off Tumblr fanfic writers because theyre cheaper and Faster than regular writers , their writing model became "come up with cool concept art and tell the writers and artists to just fill the Blanks to connect those marketable moments". This is still ongoing on Animation but a lot of these people graduated to live Action

'Coolsceneitis' is a result of our instant gratification society AND corporate people thinking they can make anything creative into a formula that will pay off without hard work. No one has ever waited for a damn thing in the writing room, and the suits don't know that writing is a craft. Also, maybe I'm just really autistic about this, but if they're going to make a character's mental illness front and center, they should show it as organically as possible. A military officer isn't going to care about your pronouns (hell, they may punish you for attempting to correct them). A friend will off-duty. They should have had 'they' be referred to as 'they' as a friend in a bar, and then have her squirming when a superior officer calls her her. That would be subtle and potentially good writing.

So I haven't seen a single episode of Star Trek: Discovery (or STD), but that non-gender-conforming whatever couple seems emblematic of the modern prog mentality of replacing character with identity. Not just in story writing, but in general view of life. Character is something you build through your actions, something that develops over time and grows by overcoming challenges. Identity now is something you feel, something that you can apparently change arbitrarily based on feelings, but it requires no overcoming of challenges or mental development or process of maturing. A writer who thinks this way will inevitably be a poor writer, since they don't understand character development (or character in general).

Ya cgi clone wars is mostly incredible! It's also the only one to handle Anakin's fall to the dark side in a believable way. Every other medium copped it up to him becoming jaded by the horrors of war or the issue of the jedi's peacekeeper philosophy being incompatible with warfare. In the show Anakin constantly headbutts with the council's policies and philosophy, often exposing elitism or hypocrisy within the order. The jedi's non attachment is ideally meant that their compassion is equally spread to all life. In practice they are often come off disconnected and almost inhumane at times with their demeanor. The Jedi and Anakin are basically 2 extremes on this topic, compassion spread so thin vs compassion so centralized in friends and family. Like Master Luminara immediately accepting her padawan and Ahsoka's potential death and having no agency in searching the wreckage. While Anakin desperately organizes search parties, being incapable of accepting the possibility. With how the jedi council treats Ahsoka in season 5 finale, Anakin's jaded/resentful nature in ROTS completely makes sense.

23:08 I think this scene is supposed to be their character development. Because when looked at from the point of view of those terminally into politics and nothing but them, this is enough to be character development since it acts as a revealing moment for the character that can be seen as deep and powerful. To the terminally political, being non-binary is an act unto itself that is against the norms of society and so becomes an act rather than just being. This scene in another show that was well written would be the equivalent of a character opening up about their past with the villain or about someone they had recently lost due to recent or past events. This issue is that this type of scene would actually be more of a starting point for the character. Them being non-binary (something I still don't get nor really care to) would be mentioned and shown here but then you would later have to have scenes in which they describe how they eventually rose to this conclusion for themselves which would tie into another character flaw/issue that is going to be resolved by the end of the character. So, from what Dev has described, the character flaw would be 'being indecisive and un-confident' which is tied into them being non-binary (which I don't think the writers meant to due since it way to on the nose; the non-binary person being indecisive and insecure). You would then need scenes in which they are either shown this more, or scenes in which its challenged more until the final character moment in which they are shown to be break said flaw or at least be able to work around it (in her case; putting her foot down and being girl, **joke sound effect**).

I checked out of the Mandalorian long before the Boba Fett crossover. Sure, the writers/producers got at least the basics right WRT not making you despise the main character and having something resembling a plot, but it was also still very mundane and basic. A major reason I could never get invested, and I'll admit it's probably a minor issue for most people, is the constant drip-feed of nostalgia: every other shot has to contain something from the OT. Not something similar, not, an exact copy of a vehicle, machine, weird alien, etc. It feels extremely calculated, and because I kept noticing the fanservice, it kept jolting me out of my immersion, reminding me I was watching a Disney Star Wars tm product. And so much of the fanservice doesn't make sense when you do think about it: Why is are the various(?) not-Tatooine desert planets the show takes place on exactly like tatooine? Why are there Jawas in anvil-shaped tanks there as well? Do they mass-produce those things somewhere? Why does the baddy's lair in season one have the exact same robot eyeball peephole machine as Jabba's palace? I assumed that was a unique gadget cobbled together from junk. Did Jabba pick it up at space-Ikea? Even though the people behind Mandalorian have done a better job than Kennedy's henchmen, I have no faith in them to make anything other than safe, boring fanservice. I don't think they have the balls or the creative vision to do anything than tread water in that part of the galaxy we already know, and doing so can only end in erosion and watering down of that setting and those characters.

The problem is they stripped what made Fett who he is. Bounty Hunter? Retired. Ruthless? Yeaaaah, not so much. Dangerous? Apparently not as dangerous as his henchmen. Takes no crap off anyone? Gets slapped down by his underlings. His T-Visor is his face? Not anymore. It's something he carries under his arm. There's a point where changes to a character make that character fuzzy, and the show went far past that to the point where Mando is nearer to Boba Fett than Fett himself is.

Time to be an apologist for some of the new Star Wars stuff. Clone Wars, Bad Batch and Rebels take a bit to get going, but some of their arcs are really damn good. I would highly recommend the arcs that deal with Mandalore in both Clone Wars and Rebels as it is most likely where we are headed with the Mandalorian season 3 and the rebuilding of Mandalorian culture since the planet got glassed and there's Mandalorian clans isolated and scattered throughout the galaxy. I would highly recommend Clone Wars over the other two shows if you invest your time in anything and to only watch some of the arcs you think sound cool. There's stuff that happens with Darth Maul here and there, but the final episodes of Clone Wars happen in parallel with Revenge of the Sith. Spoiler on what's going on with that, Darth Maul used Mandalorian rules to become ruler of the planet because he fought the previous ruler in rightful combat and so Asoka takes the 501st to go depose him leading to some cool duels and then the two of them have to survive Order 66. When Order 66 is given, Darth Maul gets to be really damn cool and kill a shit ton of clones brutally.

The Boba Fett show should have been the Star Wars equivalent of "The Sopranos" or "Breaking Bad" Have Boba be a Tony or Walt like crime boss with numerous sociopathic HK-47 like henchmen that are afraid of the legend of Boba Fett. Meanwhile Boba is done with bounty hunting and has mellowed with his ruthlessness since his near death. So he has to live up to his infamous legend or risk being killed by a usurper. The whole inciting story could be that when he turned up alive, the Hutts contacted him furious that he let Jabba die and that Jabba's smuggling operation was taken over by someone not loyal to the Hutts and they want Boba to fix the situation and operate as the temporary crime boss on Tatooine until they vote on a successor. And if he doesn't go along with it, he gets John Wick'd meaning they place a incredibly large bounty on his head, that no matter where he goes he's as good as dead.
