Overlooked is probably a better word. I always liked these, preferred the later redesign though. The gen after this one in the video. But like someone mentioned, the tax was the killer for this car

Fun fact, in Canada at least, because of the taxes suffered elsewhere in the world they imported these under the Mazda 3 listing numbers. People were taxed the same. Unfortunately that means it is impossible to know the exact number of Mazdaspeeds that where imported to Canada. Also no way to figure out how many left or how rare they are here now.

The Gen 2 is much cheaper to tax plus it doesn't rust so much. My 2011 has no rust - 😊 mind you it's in Spain!

My ST is FBO E30 and my mates new FBO MPS kept neck and neck with me; great cars. I used to own a 6MPS with bigger turbo as well.

@@Dazza2292 was it on eBay by any chance, see a shitted up one on there for months and no one was buying it, just out of curiosity what’s the condition like and how much are you looking to get for it, it’s my realistic dream car and there’s no way I’d get insured on one for my first few years on the road but always wanted to keep one to work on or even turn into a track weapon so wouldn’t need any insurance or road tax just a trailer to transport it

Underrated for sure. I just did the swap in Mazda 323/Protege5 So it's US market engine 2.0 FS-DET Stock 170whp and 210NM Mine has Injen intake, new oil pump, small engine rebuild and it's tune on EMU Classic Now it has 210whp and 300NM 0.6bar One question to you...I'm looking for mud flaps. What you have on MPS? Stock will not fit cause i have side skirts and different bumpers as well. If you could give the name or link to them will be great. Thanks
