I think the 911 GT3 are the perfect supercars, they look good, they have a very high revving naturally aspirated flat 6 hence it sounds awesome, and are form what I've heard reasonably comfortable, and most important they are still available with a 6 speed manual, so yeah an older GT3 would be just perfect daily supercar

997 and 996 have a heavy clutch. You wouldn't want to daily it.

@@christmasisawesome9348 I am fortunate to own a 997.2 GT3 RS. I completely agree, the clutch is really heavy and the gear box is very notchy. When you drive it, you got to be ready to focus and work. I love it! But, daily driving it is not possible for me.

I drive a 996.2 GT3 Clubsport. I guess, I bought it just because of the sound after a test drive. You turn the key and all the bad vibes are gone. Just a pleasure maker. They say the gen one had barely 360 hp but the gen 2 rather 400+. But because the turbo was no 1 they decided to let the stats below 400

As far as I know, the 992 GT3 is not the first production GT3 which used the 6 individual throttle-bodies (with one backup). It was already used in the SECOND generation of the 991.2 GT3 RS and 991 Speedster, so the moment with the change to the OPF-exhausts... But nevertheless: AWESOME VIDEO!

The Porsche RR heritage still lives on. It is incredible how Porsche still managed to get more horsepower from rear engine layout and Porsche yet still reluctant or plainly refused to make iconic 911 models turned into hybrid or full EV like Taycan. They DGAF at enviro-activists.

Metzger engines have a little shorter stroke and are designed to last races. Therefore the engine was much more robust and massive than some Carrera 996/997 models. The latest Mezger engine was in the 997 GT3 RS 4.0. Due to their very solid construction, the Mezger engines can be easily boosted to well over 1,000 hp with a turbo or compressor. 9ff has build one with 2,000 hp.

4:11 you guys always try to explain how an engine make hp but you always leave out the most important part. The reason the first GT3 made so much more n/a hp was because it had higher lift and longer duration cams. 7:00 3.8 liters is closer to 232 cuin.

The 996.1 was NOT built at the Weissach plant. I wrote an email to Porsche AG and asked them. They wrote back that ALL street legal 996 GT3's were built at Zuffenhausen. It is common misconception regarding the 996.1 that it was built in Weissach 🤷
