In places where court decisions may be vetoed by politicians, it is taken as a sign that a country is becoming less democratic, like Hungary.
University of Michigan Professor Juan Cole tells host Steve Clemons that although nothing will fundamentally shift in the United States-Israel relationship, Democratic Party leaders would prefer it if Israel had more "shared values" with the US to justify the high levels of Washington's support.

The way Palestinians are treated in their own country is absolutely horrific and it has been for years, for my entire life even! Every time there is a flair up and discussion going on I get the distinct impression the west has been supporting israel just because they feel guilty about WWII. Western governments created and support the Israeli state. Israel has been a top 3 receiver of American aid for decades. The English created the Israel vs Palestinian problem and as in most cases, "walked away" when things deteriorated. The only time Israel has released occupied land was when England/France/Israel attacked and occupied the Suez Canal and parts of Egypt. President Eisenhow made these three countries withdraw from Egyptian property. Israel will not release occupied land. So I don't know how the situation can be defused.

Unless we understand that just as brothers do not murder one another simply because they disagree, neither must we. Otherwise, we are headed for death and exile.

The US and the UN should of put a border up in 67 and made it 2 states and if need be put peace keepers on the ground to enforce borders.
