i actually fount thor via your guys' interview together! Awsome content both of the channels.

I really want to see this at the FULL 3K hp, possibly in a drag build. This engine has potential!

That will make some serious power/mass ratio for sure! In discussions with a potential local drag racer for specifically this. Lets see how it goes. Open to other options also!

The struggle of a man who is trying his best to explain complicated stuff to normal people 😂 very informative as always and great content! Thank you guys

Not easy! But we're trying to figure out how to make these work.

@@ElmerRacing removing the damper from the front of the crank increases the twisting forces on the crank as u mentioned Using the same rationnel... wouldnt having an electric engine in the place of the flywheel that by nature helps rotates the rear of the crank reduce these teisting forces?? Because the damper is slowing the free side but this will be the other side of the coin.. supporting and rotating the heavy transmission side Ultimatly getting rid of the flywheel and damper or at least reducing their weight
@ElmerRacing3 жыл бұрын
@@FirstLast-tx3yj The damper does slow the crank down when it tries to accelerate. But it also speeds it up when it tires to decelerate. (both happen equally during vibrations)

@@ElmerRacing i was also wondering using such a huge bore size. How is 1 spark plug sufficient? In F1 they mention knock problems on anything more than 97mm

Nice! Not all decks are created equal though! :D

If you fixed the horsepower to something like 500 what would a super light engine solution look like? V twin?
@ElmerRacing4 жыл бұрын
Interesting question! N/A vs turbo would need to be investigated first. Assuming circuit racing use for these thoughts. Turbo would have to run at least 200-300kPa to make sense, so that's about 200hp na engine (for the turbocharged one). 1000cc inline four maybe? Low rpm version would need maybe 1300cc. Boxer 4 could work also. N/A option need about a 2500cc engine at about 12000rpm. Could be done with a i4, but a v6 or v8 could be longer lived options. So short answer would be "it depends".

ElmerRacing so a motorcycle engine? I guess that makes sense.

Are you a one man show for that engine? it's mind blowing! Like, like, like

How do you design the viscous damper for any certain engine? Could you get away with removing balance shaft´s if you use one? If i understood you correctly they are doing different thing´s but decided to ask anyway :D -Porsche 968 engine that would gladly get rid of balance shaft´s
@ElmerRacing4 жыл бұрын
The vibrations that the viscous damper are for are not related to the type of vibrations that balance shafts are for. One is for damping internal torsional vibrations in the rotating assembly, the other for reducing the amount of "radial" vibrations being transmitted from the engine to the chassis.
