More work with the time of day buttons! I’m so pumped she continues to want to use these. Yes there are mistakes, but that’s learning 🤷🏼‍♀️
Billi is a female domestic shorthair, she's 13 years old, her favorite word is mad.
Inspiration for learning to “speak” with buttons from Hunger4Words (check her out on IG).

She might be an idolized Grandma if she didn’t live here, though. Instead, she’s just a person who either interrupts their sleep or starves them for long periods (sleeps). If I tell them they have to wait for grandma to be fed, they already know I’m in pain and cuddle me sweetly, then get more mad at grandma when she’s finally up. They seem to like I’m up every couple hours with them. Poor Grandma!

Family parrot knows exactly when to start beeping like the microwave (something is usually heated up for a few seconds at least for someone around 5pm daily) to let us know it was dinner/family time. He also starts calling for us to cover him when its his scheduled bed time. (going fully spreading his wings to mimic the sheet going over his cage) The cat was focused on sunbeams during the day, but usually wanted to be let into the back yard sometime between 4pm-5pm as well. After the "Intermittent Noise" video, I started wondering if it would end up being possible to explain to our pets that we experience the world differently from them- how we can/can't see or hear things that they do/don't, or that the way we live is distinct from theirs. Billi having an opinion on how her human wastes the entire night sleeping might be a step towards that!

Sometimes, I’m sure they know of our inferior senses. Other times, my cat is heartbroken that I stepped on her in the dark, when she had to be waiting right under my foot. I have to give big hugs and, say, “Mommy Sorry. Mommy not mean to kick Asia.” I used to try to “translate” to cats even before I watched this channel. I must have had some notion it was possible. If I say “nummy,” “food,” or, “treat,” I had better not be lying because my male cat will be at his dish in a second. If I say, “Cuddle,” or “Nye-nye,” I had better be in bed because they will be there in a moment, calling for me and/or glaring at me.

I'm pretty sure Billi is saying, "Mom, you need to sleep when I sleep so we can play more." The trick I used with my cats was to play with them a little bit extra right before bedtime, then they'd get hungry, fill their little tummies, and come cuddle up in bed. Eventually they slept the whole night or at least most of the night, and invariably right before my alarm I'd get a little boop on the cheek from a nose or a paw.

Absolutely fascinating how Billie and you're communicating. And she seems really interested in understanding concepts such as "now", "night", "later" and so on. I'm totally mesmerised to learn that this is even possible. 😻

AMAZING!!!!!! She really blew my mind with that session. I'm so glad that scientists are taking notice and learning from all of you. I did notice that she stopped and checked out your coffee before she responded to you.😆🐾 Billi, you're inspiring me to get that button starter kit for my kitties. 😻👍🏻

my in-laws have a cat who loves coffee, actually strong coffee without milk, like an espresso... if you leave the small empty cup on the table, you might find him trying to stick his head into it 😅 and he tries to lick as much from the rim as he can reach.

@@CelilasArt Maybe that's why my cats always disapprove of my coffee. It never occurred to me that they were telling me to brew a stronger cuppa!

Billi is amazing! Just subbed a few days ago, now I want to try this with some of my cats. There are at least tnree that might be interested. Three roommates, 7 cats, and four look to me. Ever since I was about 12 or so, I have always wanted to speak 'cat'. Now, there may be a way to communicate on the same, level! I find that insanely attractive. Less than a hundred dollars to get started, so it isn't beyond my means. Thank you!✌😸

A million cats raised their paw fists in solidarity with that one smash of the mad button😂 Billi is the voice of a species😜 And that voice says humans are wasting hella time sleeping all at once at night. And they’re not going to take it any more. Of course they don’t know what they’re going to do about it aside from the standard protest of pouncing on their humans and singing the song of their people until someone wakes to tend to their demands but there will be action.

I gasped too! The English language seems to have really clicked for Billi recently. She has known words and concepts, but she just seems to taken a big leap in understanding the complexities of human communication and how to tell you about a full concept instead of the one word shortcuts.
