Very true the extra income is a big piece for her. However, I also believe that Robin gets off on or she gets an ego boost on being the favorite. She wants the other women to see that Kody loves her more. She wants them to know she’s “ better” than them. Not just she but her children are more loved too. That’s why she holds on to Mari so hard. She likes watching Kody be cruel to Mari. She likes Mari’s pain.

Robyn wanted the money, security, and legacy for her bio children. She also clearly needed to be Kodys favorite. This favored wife status gave her the controlling vote on all major family decisions. She also wanted all of the family intel to run through her, which I believe is the most damning and conniving behavior she exhibited during the show. In this manner, Robyn circumvented any opportunity for inter-parent or inter-couple bargaining that didn’t include or favor her or her children. And clearly, Robyn also wanted all of the above whilst appearing blameless in the eyes of the public, hence the wild, constant histrionics. The clincher for me was when she had the audacity to bring up her dashed “porch dream” while her sister wives’ literal 30 year marriages collapsed all around her. Menace.

Early on Robyn had convinced all of the family that they needed to go through her to talk to Kody. That she was the only one that really understood him and could communicate with him. The audacity of Robyn to say that out of 4 wives and 18 kids that she was the only one that could communicate with Kody. Robyn is a master manipulator and an abuser. From the very beginning Robyn began separating Kody from his family.

I think you are spot on about why Robyn wanted them to stay. I’ve said this for years.. Robyn knows Kody was not being intimate with the other wives. She knew he didn’t love them anymore. They were no longer a threat to her. If they stayed, she would continue to be insulated by their income. She could play polygamy and never really have to experience it. Now that they are gone, three other sources of income are gone with them. She’s aging and her body has changed. She can’t be the favorite wife if she’s the only wife. How long before Kody finds a newer model?

Sobbin HAD what she wanted. Kodys loyalty to only her and the 3 others incomes. Her role as she saw it on the show was to play dumb and fake cry when she was confronted, easy enough to do and get everything you want. She’s not happy now because she has to solely put up with Kodys crap and no money to spend. When the funds start dwindling and when it looks like the creditors are coming, she will divorce him and take everything she can and leave him high and dry with the bills!

And I am so conflicted about how I feel about this. I agree this will happen, and I will enjoy Kody being taken for all he’s worth by his bimbo…but the idea that the bimbo wins in the end makes me feel nauseated. But then, just looking at Sobbyn Liebrows makes me want to puke, too, so potato or potahto, either way she makes me sick. I hope she never finds a space where she is the Queen she wants to be.

My assumption of it is that now Robin has to be filmed with Cody in order for them to stay on the show. IMO, she wanted to be on the show and be the protagonist and isn't liking being seen as the villain in all this. (disclosure: I don't watch Sister Wives. I did when it first came on and felt like they weren't giving a true picture of what it was like to live polygamy. I only watch these type You Tube videos because all those years ago, when it first came out, I knew it would all blow up. Hence I only get my info from You Tube creators and comments. Yes, Sobbyn was jealous of Christine’s mothering all the children and knew instinctively that she would be less than in that department. I think that is why she isolated her children, she didn’t want them to make comparisons about her mothering vs Christine’s, as Sobbyn only thinks of her children a props, not people.

This family was the prize for Robin. They were giving her the platform for her to become the "celebrity" she wanted to become. They paid her debts. They provided the finances for her to continue her shopping addiction. They managed to wrestle her kid's father out of their lives. She provided Kody with more kids after Christine was done so she automatically had more attention. The other wives couldn't provide him with more kids so he had no real use for them. They were basically paid actors at that point to give him the money to keep the functioning uterus happy. Now that the other wives have left, Robin is watching her whole life fall apart. She is the wife that is done having kids so there must be a thought that she might be replaced. She watched him shut the other wives out and now they have taken their disposal income with them. Clearly she is in panic mode. She is older, wrinkled, unemployed and doesn't want to give up her TLC money which is all she has left.

I find it hard to imagine Sobbyn Liebrows would accept and welcome any new, young, nubile women into the family. She is not capable of surviving that sort of narcissistic injury on national tv. It would be great tv, but she would blow up the family in a heartbeat if she wasn’t winning the game of life in the family. That’s why she’s so unhappy, the OG 3 quit playing her game, and the “prize” is Kody! Ugh.

1:21 because Robin is a professional victim. She’s been a victim, all her life and she stays in that wrong princess mentality so that Cody feels like he’s the knight in shining armor to save her on his white horse. She’s also getting the bad end of it in the public domain. I don’t know is anyone is cheering for her because of this destruction. She has brought down on the family whether intended or not. Her being brought into the family was the downfall of the family and that includes both Robin and Cody‘s behaviors and treatment of the other people in this family. If you look at what happened, the things said, the imaginary and real slights and outright, rude and despicable things done and said, there really was no other option for the first wives. She’s not happy, because people don’t like her. And she in her victimhood has become a people pleaser. Which is why she will do the things the otherwise won’t do for Cody, resulting in the cold, sores, or not, no one knows but her, but she has said this to a public forum to shame the other wives. Why would she think they would stick around? So now Cody is in a conundrum. Because he wants now to remain monogamous with Robin, because he cannot vision himself treating another woman the way he does robin. And I think she talked out of both sides of her mouth. I think she said what she thought. Everyone wanted to hear, as part of the people pleasing, and she thought she found a secure family that would continue to treat her like princess that she thinks she deserves. When her first husband wouldn’t or couldn’t, she moved to greener pastures, so she thought. But when your toxic and you bring your toxicity into what was a difficult family dynamic because of its very make up, you get the disaster that we watched.

During covid and they got together at coyote pass and they sat separately, kody didn't pay attention to Robyn's young son, kody says to robyn," sorry I didnt pay attention to him when he was playing with truly. And before going there when kody was on his truck, robyn was complaining about having her kids interacting with the other kids. So i think it was Robyn that put covid restrictions.

I don't think Robyn ever wanted monogamy or to have Kody all to herself. She wanted to be The Queen Bee. That's a role that is part of the "culture" of the more fundamental polygamist sects (The AUB, The Kingston Clan, aka The Order, the Warren Jeff's cult, etc...). The Queen Bee is (openly) the favorite wife and has the most power. She is not necessarily the first wife in chronological order (like Meri). She has the Patriarch's ear and is trusted and desired the most. The Patriarch has to have at least three wives to get to the highest level of heaven and then get a planet of his own where his wives will crank out "Spirit Babies" that will be sent to earth with them. So the Patriarch isn't terribly worried about a love match with the other 2+ wives. And Robyn gets to kick up her feet, not get a job, have a nanny and plenty of time to feed her shopping addiction and treat Kody like her "best customer". That has got to be one of the best lines on the show. 😂

Robyn's example of polygamy wasn't what she got. Her mother lived in a different state than her sister wife. So she had 100% of his attention when he was there, and she didn't have to see the other marriage or have her marriage watched. She said that sometimes her step-father was gone for weeks at a time. That's not plural marriage. That's sectioned off monogamy. She said that in that relationship her mother was able to have a "honeymoon experience" that lasted for decades, but that's because when he wasn't there she would clean and do errands and all the monotonous parts of life. Which is what Robyn copied, so that when Kody was with her she dropped everything and gave him 100% of her attention. That's not sustainable when he's with her 100% of the time. That's why she needs a nanny. She can't be looking after Kody if she's looking after her kids.

Robyn needing the other wives to give her permission OFF CAMERA to be happy with Kody serves a double purpose for her. First, it is yet another attempt on her part to get the other three to bend to her will. Her unhappiness will be all their fault unless they do what she NEEDS them to do. And they will have to live with the guilt when her and Kody's marriage falls apart because they failed to grant this tiny little request of hers. Which leads to the second purpose. Robyn knows as well as the rest of us, that these women are NEVER going to do that. Thus it gives her an escape hatch out of her misery with Kody. She can use their refusal to grant her request as the reason she is forced to leave. She was never given the off camera permission to be happy, so the failure of her marriage isn't her fault. It is all the fault of the other three.
