On the one on ones he was talking about cognitive dissonance. Well, he actually said "cognitive dissidence". Or maybe it was "dissident". Anyhow, I got the impression that he was trying to "talk psychology". Just as he said he didn't want to triangulate. He's clearly been reading many comments of himself. He's been called narcissistic often enough.

I don't mean to offend anyone but ... when someone tries to spout scripture or sound 'biblical' like Kody does, I know that they are lying, trying to hide something or have no idea what they are talking about. "They muddy the water to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Neitzsche. Kody fails at sounding deep.

I don't think Kody understands language at all. Covering and cloaking are synonyms for hiding. For example, I can cover the dog's accident with the cloak of a paper towel, but the mess is still there. Your mess is still there Kody, even if you demand your wives cover it with the cloak of charity.

Kody attended a regular high school - there was an episode where he took the family to his hometown and met with some of his former classmates. One woman in particular was not surprised that he had become a polygamist because he “always had to be the center of attention”. Personally, I think Kody has a TON of unresolved “Daddy” issues. I don’t remember where I saw it, but I read somewhere that Kody’s father did not want him to become a polygamist because he felt that Kody wasn’t mature enough to handle the responsibility of multiple women. He also questioned Kody’s ability to support a large family. This may be why he became involved with fairly self sufficient women (barring Robyn of course). He could “prove” to his father & the church that he was worthy of the celestial kingdom without actually doing any of the work to get there. 🤷🏼

My children are homeschooled and I understood what you meant. There’s a huge difference between competent homeschooling and the religious cult mini education version IMO like the Duggars. From what I’ve seen in many documentaries the fundamentalist groups tend to pull out their kids out of school at an early age to work or get married. Luckily Kody went to HS but that doesn’t mean he aced it. LOL IJS

My older brother was like that. When he became a manager, he would call our mom and ask her to review and edit his writing. That was until she realized he was NOT learning and employing her edits. Then, he started asking me for help (I was a writer by trade). Eventually, as my career took off, I didn’t have time to review everything he wrote, so I would remind him of past information I’d given him, which made him mad. Instead of thanking me for my help, he would argue with my suggestions. He then decided he could edit his own work “just fine.” He would purposely use big words whether he understood their meanings or not. If I tried to explain why another word might work better (I approached corrections very carefully for his ego’s sake), he’d get upset and hang up on me. As such, his upper management quickly learned he wasn’t as smart as he tried to present himself. His career stalled and never went any higher. It was a real shame.

Anytime one of the original wives repeats what Kody has said to them - either on film or in person - he claims that they are “trash talking” him. During the final meeting at Coyote Pass with Meri & Robyn, he told Meri to “stop blaming him” (for her wanting to leave) when she told him she wasn’t and then questioned why he thought that, he said that SHE said her decision was based on things he said and how he had acted towards her. 🙄 Dude. When you flat out tell someone you’re not interested in them or that they’re not going to come around and see them anymore, they’re most likely going to leave. When asked why they’re leaving, they’re probably going to say something along the line of “So and so isn’t interested in a relationship with me.” So ya, technically they’re leaving because of what was said, but the person who said those things didn’t give them an alternative solution or reason to stay. 🤦‍♀️

He can’t be wrong. When he told the therapist he was not up for any criticism. He would not face being wrong. He didn’t want to rehear what he said to Meri. Bc it was wrong. And if Meri is basing her decision on his cruel conversation with her, she’s blaming him. Uh…yea. Meri is leaving bc you don’t want to be with her. As you said. But she should give him a cloak of charity bc there was a marriage and some good times. So delusional. Gaslighting from a narc. Typical.

Filibuster! Baahahaha! 😂 that is the perfect word! Made me literally laugh out loud 😆 I remember either last season or the season before Kody talking about the wives being disloyal (except for Robyn 🙄) and he went on and on about how part of being loyal was “covering his sins in a cloak of charity”. The other wives were no longer doing that and he wasn’t happy of course. At first I was confused as to what he even was talking about, but as I watched I realized that he’s been nothing but a big ol’ liar and terrible husband/father (I mean I knew that) and his wives always covered for him. Smoothed things over. I believe this is why he really thinks that Christine and Janelle badmouth him to the kids, bc they no longer ‘make it ok’ as they did when the kids were small. They don’t badmouth him and make him look like a major a-hole. He does a great job of that all by himself! 😳 “Let’s get to a line that made no sense” 🤣🤣 I almost spit my coffee all over! Lmao! Kody, being the narcissist that he is, cannot see that he is doing exactly what he’s complaining his church did regarding polygamy. He really IS that dense and obtuse. They also believe in the Book of Mormon, Book of Abraham and Pearl of Great Price (and one more...there are 4 more books). So, it's similar (in terms of "Bible Plus" )to faiths like Catholic where they believe in the bible, but also have rules for purgatory, confessionals, praying the rosary/praying to Mary, praying to saints etc. All of which is not in the Bible, but is part of their faith. However! Mormons have A LOT added to the Bible that they believe!!

They are not Christians because they don't believe in the trinity and are also polytheistic, they believe in more than one god. They believe that God was once a man and achieved god hood. Jews also share some of the same beliefs and some scripture , they are certainly not Christian.

There is a clip of Gordon B Hinkley (prophet of the church in the 90s to the early 2000s) saying yes, we are Christian definitionally because we follow Christ, but we are not mainstream Christian…so his answer was sort of a a “yes, and no” depending on what you mean my “Christian”. It’s on KZbin. I believe it was in an interview he did with 60 minutes. There are differences, and honestly, as a Member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, I don’t care what mainstream Christians say about us. A lot of you only know what your mislead pastors have told you about us. Very few actually try to be charitable, and understanding. If you want to understand the differences between The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, and evangelical Christians from a perspective of love, compassion, and understanding I would point you toward the “Hello Saints” KZbin channel. It’s run by an evangelical pastor who is trying to bridge the gap of understanding between the The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints world and the evangelical Christian world.

Sadly, I understand what he is saying. He's saying...looking back, that was a failed experiment....as in, we tried and failed, oh well, and shrugs. He's trying to sound philosophical while attempting to remove any responsibility on his part. Equating 20 or 30+ years of marriage and 18 kids as an "expirament" is awful! Those are definitely the words he meant. He's too obtuse to realize what he sounds like.

Regarding the use of “Retrospectively” could he be meaning “when I look back I see it was more of an experiment?” I’m letting it go because my head feels like a jumble of jigsaw pieces now. We need to let it go. Everything he says is mumbo jumbo (haven’t said that for 40+ years) hah!

I watched season one and felt we weren't getting the truth. When I heard Christine was leaving I started watching again. For me I hoped I was wrong but only Robyn looked happy you could see alot of pain in the wives eyes.
@SeniorPerspective

I agree. I was intrigued from season one because the wives (especially Meri and Christine) seemed really hurt by Robyn joining. I thought they would stop it. But Meri started the whole thing, so she wasn't gonna retract what she did. Christine was our only hope. Although she spoke up, she was eventually submissive. unfortunately. Led to a life of misery.

@@SeniorPerspective she has got alot of great kids and now she has found love with David but yes she got treated so badly for so long. Meri possibly had it worse. I feel like she gave ALOT to be a part of the family. I hope she finds love. Janelle would pull some funny faces and eye roll Robyn alot. She didn't seem as hurt as the other 2 but definitely wasn't impressed by Robyn.

What I think when he talks about experience is another indication that he doesn’t see the humanity in other people. He’s only looking at things as a situation, and how it looks from the outside. He is not into people as individuals. He is looking for a movie novel of his life to be lived out. And your value to him is how well you play a role
