I think it comes down to commitment. Your correct. It cannot be turned off. But on the other side of the coin. When your with multiple woman. That is a lot of energy exchanged. If it's raw, it's even more intense energy. It takes awhile to get this out of ones system. There is an anchor effect if you will. That said energy attaches it'self to. I agree on some of your points in terms of monogamy being a responsible decision. However, all it takes is one party to change his/her mind while expecting you to remain faithful to render that idea useless. In that relationship, anyway. And allow me to get to your other points here since I'm going down this street. As you should know by now, political correctness isn't one of my strong points so a hint to the wise. Alright, here we go... What you are saying in regards to men being scandalous, a lot of us have been on the other side of the ledger and know all too well what an adulterous wife is capable of, not to mention a heinous family/divorce court system that literally puts the wave motion gun to your back no matter if she cheats or not. I also personally know of women who appear to be 'good girls' on the surface but fall for the same neighborhood cads, playboys, and pvssy hounds who were never monogamous to begin with. And in many such cases, women call themselves trying to change the guy into Mr. Faithful, only to get some very ugly results. When stories come out of guys having 6+ baby mamas with 22 kids, not all of those baby mamas are the rachets you see on Worldstar. Some of them have college degrees, places of their own, and put on the appearance of being a 'born-again' virgin/single mom who has a wholesome background and only wanting a 'good man' to help them out. Ask around; we've seen this profile way too many times on social media. Now please understand this; when a man has a high level of LMS (Looks/$$$/Social Status) or game, his S/O isn't going to be the only one to notice; a lot of other women have and will do ANYTHING to move wifey out of the way if the opportunity ever presents itself. And since the vast majority of men don't grow up having the luxury to pick and choose partners as women do, especially in their high school and college years (see 80/20 rule), once they are finally in such a position, very few of them are going to pass up the opportunity to dive right in. Sure, Poindexter will say that he'll never fool around on you, which is easy to do when no one else has ever paid any serious attention to him over the last 15+ years. You can charge that to the good ole scarcity game of him being in fear of you disappearing and having to wait another decade to get a girl. But have that same guy be the only male in Hugh Hefners' house chocked with an ass full of horny, coked up, naked Playboy bunnies for weekends at a time and check back with me the following Monday to see how he views monogamy. As Chris Rock said nearly a decade ago, a man is as faithful as his options. A tall, handsome guy with a seven-figure bank account, six-figure salary, and a house on the big side of town like Ric Flair circa 1986 is going to be less likely to stay faithful as a Joe College who lives modestly and doesn't have other sistas checking for him. Sadly, those are the men that women tend to ignore the most until they decide to take their ball and go elsewhere (see dating out/interracial marriages). And on a side note, that's why it's so much easier to catch a man cheating than it is a woman. The other man just wants the 'slot' of getting with her on the side. He's not going to be sending her man HD-level videos of him blowing his wife's back out and coming up to wifey's job demanding that she break up with her man or else. The other woman, though? Well, she wants the 'position' that his wife has and will do everything short of go Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction-mode to get it. And as for good girls being put in the 'friend zone', there is no such thing unless that woman is wholly unattractive to the man she's trying to get with. Sorry, but when it comes to us being initially attracted to a woman, her looks and beauty is 99.999999786348% of the equation. No amount of shaming tactics on the net or on TV will get us to change our minds in that regard. Her education, compatibility, and other qualities run a very distant second when we first meet. If she's attractive to a guy, he's going to eventually make a play for her; that's the bottom line. And if she's not, she's pretty much in the same boat as the guys women constantly put in their friend zone day and night. Nothing more, nothing less...

Good question. It is human nature never to be content and satisfied to a large degree. For instance, if a person has a million in the bank, he desires to have ten million. Once he gets ten million, he wants a hundred and so on. The old mantra is if you're not progressing, you're regressing. The same holds true in the dating sphere. Sure, you may have found 'the one' but who's to say that you're 'the one' to them, much less 10 years from now? We all grow up with love stories of 'happily ever after' in Disney movies, romance novels, and fairy tales but the divorce rates, declining marital rates, and OOW birth rates (especially in our communities) tell a completely different story. For the most part, the only men (especially black men) who are still pushing for marriage who aren't on a church's payroll are older ones who were reared in a different era or those who are Non-Select and because of scarcity, run to the alter to avoid being alone for the next decade due to their inability to get a girl. A guy who has things going for himself is going to be hesitant, if not for anything else, the very real fear of being dragged kicking and screaming to a family/divorce court nearest you. Very few places better resemble a hell on Earth for men than having your life's assets being divvied up by a judge who's getting a legal kickback to financially nuke you back into the stone age (see Title IV-D). Let's be really real here; the days of our grandparents getting together with little/no knowledge of having been with anyone else and making it work for 79 years went to the wayside in the wake of the sexual revolution, more birth control options, advanced travel, the internet, and social media. We as a whole have a lot more ways to 'plow the field' than at any other time in human history. All a person has to do nowadays as opposed to just 20 years ago is receive one 'swipe right' on his/her Tinder app and it's off to the races. No promises of commitment or fidelity needed. Pros and cons of these things can be weighed at another time. And as far as two 'Select' folks being satisfied in a relationship together, it depends on how both view their contentment towards one another. Again, as I've stated before, all it takes is one of the two parties to find a person more 'select' who would get with them (which is easy to do if you're select) and poof goes your 'happily ever after' for the one left holding the bag...
