The X358 with the 4.2 supercharged engine is a piece of work. I've racked up 145,000 miles in a Range Rover with this engine and other than standard servicing I've never been disappointed. I'm now running a ex Japan Daimler Super 8. The ultimate wolf in sheep's clothing. It has the ability to scare the life out of Tesla drivers - which is good!

Yeah, had Range Rovers with 5,0 (not supercharged) and 4,2 supercharged, and tbh prefer the second one!

Nah bro, 400hp in a RWD car without an LSD won't scare a Tesla driver. Where an x358 beats pretty much anything else on the road is the looks and style though.

My 2007 XJR has more than 300.000 miles in the clock (492.500km right now), and it still pulls strong as day one. In terms of maintenance, the main problem with this car is the air suspension (6.000€ in original parts for just the 4 air struts), the rest of the maintenance is quite affordable for the kind of vehicle it is.

Indeed the price of Bilstein air-struts is just ridiculous. I'd strongly consider Miessler, or maybe look into Aerosus. The latter being a Chinese company but that wouldn't deter me any more. Arnott is very solid but my understanding is even their air-strut (i.e. not the very popular coil-over conversion) lacks the CATS support.

@@jaromor8808 I installed on my XJR the BC Racing coilovers, at the same ride height as standard. At the mínimum settings of stiffness they are quite acceptable for an XJR, and they perform quite good.

I'm not sure that values of the 2.7 diesel will go up. They are fantastic cars (I own one) but they are not welcome in so many cities now.

Yep, just buy a 50k EV, that is their solution🤣

@@Fat_Petrolhead for £50k I could drive my diesel Jag into London twice a week until I'm dead. Wouldn't work in Brussels though.

Good video! I just recently bought a 2007 X350 (XJ) Daimler Super Eight! It’s very rare as they only made 853 of them worldwide. See a short video I made of it on my channel and let me know what you think 👍😉

Hello. If i don't do 5k miles a year, I still have to change oil once a year?
@Fat_Petrolhead5 ай бұрын
Engine oil lost its protective structure not only with a mileage but also with age. If you do 3K per year, there would be no problem if you change oil every 1,5 year, but I wouldn’t go for more.
