Short Answer: TV and radio ads. Longer Answer: Money is the sinew of a campaign. It gives you that ability to buy the attention of voters (or at least access to their attention) in the form of advertisements, campaign events, and the efforts of campaign staff. it is an unfortunate reality that most voters don't have the time, ability, or will to sit down with all the candidate's platforms and logic their way through who is the best candidate for them. Media doesn't always buy a win, but it can really, really help.

Bowman lost because there simply isn't more leftists than there are liberals/conservatives. That is the central issue the left needs to come to terms with. The way most people feel and think is basically neoliberal. Yes, media and yes, education sucks, but most people don't have the curiosity or empathy or long term thinking. We're an island of leftyness in an ocean of libs. We lose sometimes because we're just outnumbered, thats it.
@primafacie97214 ай бұрын
Regular polling and research shows that on issues and government direction most people are leftists. However, the corporate media and billionaires and corporations have flooded the airwaves to label 'leftist' as two steps past a baby eating Communist. Even you bought the story. Money dominates most elections and the man being interviewed specifically mentioned it in Bowman's election. Money buys representatives who then pass laws to give more money to the monied who then buy more representatives. Citizen's United was a nuke against a healthy representative government.
