Consider that Jango was just an ordinary (albeit highly skilled..) man but still managed to outright kill two Jedi ( Komari Vosa and that green alien jedi that attacks Dooku) and was a legitimate threat in his fight against future Jedi Master Obi wan. He would also have killed a temporarily disarmed Jedi Master Mace Windu but for very bad luck in that arena fight. Jango was seriously no joke and its always cool to see non-force users use skill/ingenuity to bring down the magic space wizards that are the Jedi and Sith.
@tri-sapien6487 Жыл бұрын
Jango Fett will forever be my favorite Star Wars character. In a galaxy where the strongest use the Force, few can match his might and skill. It literally takes the use of divine intervention (that being the Force) for Mace Windu to kill him, since Mace Windu has a power that allows him to know when the best moment to strike is, which is why he backed off at first and waited for his jetpack to be broken before going in for the kill.

"Watch out for that vicious bounty hunter Boba Fett, Luke. Did I ever tell you about his father? He was hired to assassinate a senator that me and your father were guarding. We kept bringing her around open windows and public areas in order to draw her would be assassin out, but his cunning surprised even us. He had used his payment to hire another bounty hunter to kill the senator for him while he sent us on a wild bantha chase. And then that 2nd assassin used her payment to buy a robot to assassinate the senator for her. Did I mention the 2nd assassin was a shapeshifter? She could have been a good friend in disguise for all we knew! Where was I? Oh yes, then that robot used its payment to buy poisonous bugs to release into the senator's room while she slept, after lasering a hole through the window. It could have just lasered her because we we weren't watching her at all, but it as not a good shot. So we sense the hostile life forms in the room and rush in and save the senator in the nick of time! Then I jumped out the window to chase the robot back to its owner! Luckily it didn't have a self-destruct function. Then we found the 2nd assassin and chased her across the planet, and caught her when she tried to kill us instead of shapeshifting and escaping. But to our surprise, Jango Fett was watching the whole thing instead of going to kill the senator while we were away chasing the bugs chasing the robot chasing the shapeshifter. He shot her with a poisonous dart instead of sniper blaster, and only her instead of shooting all of us or blowing all of us with a rocket or something, then he escaped with his dumb jetpack. Mace Window killed him later, right in front of Boba. Mace was a good friend. Boba is a bad friend."

My one point of contention is that Palpatine probably never intended for Padme and Anakin to get that close. It was more likely something he chose to exploit, and would have had something else lined up in any event. The guy put himself in a position to effectively groom Anakin since he was 10, so he probably had all kinds of control levers and buttons to push regardless of that one thing.
@MrAskmannen2 жыл бұрын
Ok ive got 2 things that might put your theory into question: 1: When Obi Wan is talking to Jango Fett, why would he tell Obi Wan that he was recruited by "a man called Tyrannus" if he's in league with Sidious and Dooku? Wouldn't that blow his cover? 2: After Obi-Wan leaves, why would Jango try to kill him? Does he try to kill him because Obi-Wan is suspicious about the Clone Armies' origins? Well, he is mostly suspicious because Jango told him HALF A MINUTE EARLIER he didn't know about Syfo-Dyas, how does this add up?
@WhereinMedia Жыл бұрын
For the first one, I think it's safe to assume that Jango is aware of the Force based extra-sensory perception that Jedi have. So maybe he was deliberately telling the truth in a way that didn't actually give anything away. For the second, it's been so long since I've watched my own video that I don't remember exactly what I said. Jango's orders could have been to kill anyone that tries to follow him, with Sidious/Dooku assuming that whatever Jedi ended up following Jango would either be resilient enough to survive long enough to make a report about the droid army; or if they died, that the Jedi order would be persistent enough to send along a follow up investigation. TBH I can't recall anything from AotC that would have made Jango aware of Syfo-Dyas (although there may have been something in TCW?), but the Kaminoans giving one story and Jango giving another would simply make any Jedi investigating even more curious. It's a year late, but I hope my answer makes sense!
@michaelstark87203 жыл бұрын
Also in expanded comics Jango killed few Jedi with his own bare hands if I'm not mistaking. That's why Dooku recruited him and he knew well what is end goal for that clone army
@sunsetman22 Жыл бұрын
also, to all those people who claimed Jango was "wasted" in Episode II, I think you're getting it wrong. I think Lucas responded to the sudden love the fanbase had for Boba Fett, a relatively unimportant character, and decided to address that love in a very _George Lucas_ kind of way. so, instead of giving the guy more screen time, he basically makes his dad the unintentional architect of the events of the saga. that's not "wasting" a character, far from it. the Fetts are so important to Star Wars its absurd lol, but I'm not complaining. I also played Bounty Hunter as a kid, and honestly Idgaf about Disney canon, that shit will always stay with me. many thanks for this excellent video!

I don’t think u talked about it yet but what are your thoughts on din taking helmet off? Will his old covet want to take his armor? Blacksmith only one still alive?
@WhereinMedia4 жыл бұрын
I haven't touched much on the Mandalorian yet (I might do a season 2 retrospective), but I think there could be consequences for Din removing his helmet in the form of the other Children of the Watch deciding he is no longer worthy of his beskar'gam. What those consequences are specifically would depend on how the Bo-Katan/Darksaber plot line plays out. Specifically: if he takes on the mantle of Mand'alor and the Children of the Watch challenge his claim to lead, or if he doesn't and he's on his own being hunted by the CotW. Alternatively, it might be completely glossed over with no mention of it made again. Part of me thinks that's the more likely scenario, as several points in season 2 seemed to specifically be setups to Din deciding that removing his helmet is OK (but I doubt he'll start doing it all the time). From a writing/showrunning perspective, this was probably to line up the rules in The Mandalorian with what we see other Mandalorians doing in Clone Wars and Rebels, and almost definitely to give Pedro Pascal on-screen face time (the reason superheroes in movies spend so much time with their masks off, actors loooooove face time).

@WhereinMedia3 жыл бұрын
That's a fair point, however look at how capable Jango was in hand-to-hand combat against Obi-Wan once the lightsaber was out of the picture. That wasn't down to armor or gadgets, that was pure skill. If their fight started in the close proximity of Jango's apartment, Obi-Wan is faced with the difficulty of getting his lightsaber drawn and armed before Jango closes the already close distance and goes to work on him. That scenario would definitely have Jango wrong-footed, but I wouldn't want to be in Obi-wan's shoes either. Could you imagine trying to face down a cornered Jango Fett who's also protecting his son? I'd rate that somewhere with facing down a cornered grizzly-bear protecting their cub.
