Nothing beats that subtle scene of him snapping his head to the sound of Luke unholstering his blaster, and he doesn’t skip a beat before waiting around the corner to ambush him. I wish The Mandalorian had this level of quality secondary character writing. So many of the characters act like clowns

Fett seemed like a response to all the people who just wanted to see him blow shit up because they were still angry about him going out like a whimp in RotJ. Book of Boba Fett on the other hand decided not to forget about the fact he fell in the pit, took his escape from it very seriously instead of pretending it wasn't important, and used it to build on his journey into solidarity.

This was very exciting to watch. Hated Boba growing up as a kid because of what he did to Han Solo, but after watching The Mandalorian this year & seeing his plight & what their tribe, creed & union is all about, I think he's going to be my favorite character in the Star Wars Franchise going forward. His cool gadgets, RPG-weapons and his face-looking spaceship are my fave bits of his persona.

I thought Boba was thought of after the first film, then why was he seen in the cut scene of Jabba speaking with Han. Was this scene filmed after A New Hope?

Didn't George Lucas refer to Mandalore / Mandalorian supercommandos to Joe Johnston when designing proto-Boba Fett early on? I believe it's in the original sketches.
@wordsmithpd3 жыл бұрын
In Summer 1979 in Bantha Tracks he is said to be wearing "part of the armor of the Imperial Shocktroopers, warriors of the olden times." There was a reference to Mandalore in the ESB Sketchbook (June 1980) and in the Art of ESB (Oct 1980), so the background of the character was being developed throughout the process.
@nineleafclover3 жыл бұрын
@@wordsmithpd Interesting that even at that early date he's described as wearing armor belonging to "warriors of the olden times." The wording of which would arguably suggest that Boba was simply wearing the armor of a group that once existed--but not necessarily that he belonged to that group himself. Could give context to Lucas's later pronouncement--much to the chagrin of many fans--that Jango and Boba were simply wearing the armor of the Mandalorians, but were not Mandalorians themselves (though recent media under Disney seems to have reversed that pronouncement). It's also interesting how the idea of "Imperial Shocktroopers" from "olden times" ties into later developed ideas about the clone troopers, and the connection Boba Fett was established to have to them.

@@nineleafclover Boba doesn't claim to be a Mandalorian even in the Mando Disney TV series, he said his creed is to himself & to no man.
@nineleafclover3 жыл бұрын
@@1anre Most fans of the show I've encountered don't seem to have taken it that way. And I think it was made "ambiguous" by design, precisely for that reason. They wanted to have their cake and eat it too (let fans believe Boba is a Mandalorian again, without blatantly undermining George).

Yes, the new classification of Jango as a "foundling" allows both to be true, as well as aligning the backstory of Jango Fett from the comic book Open Seasons.

HI Paul Duncan. In a new hope in the beginning of the boardroom of evil scene General Tagge calls Vader a sith Lord. The line was cut from the final film. Why did Lucas cut the line?
@procyon63702 жыл бұрын
My personal thinking is that Lucas thought that the sudden and off-hand reference to a Sith Lord, which is not brought up again for the rest of the film, may be confusing to the audience. Since the scene works without Tagge's first line, the line was cut. Another part of my personal thinking is that Lucas should have brought back the deleted line in the Special Editions. Alas, he didn't.

This is great, better than disney's trash documentary. But I'm incredibly disappointed that again Jason Wingreen who was the voice for Boba Fett wasn't mentioned at all. The character was very well conceived, but was not a central character-he is a henchman/villain-so did not have the screen time needed to develop him further. It was great to see him developed further in the recent TV series.
