She was very beautiful. Sad she got caught up in the party life. Hopefully her parents took good care of her Son.

The irony is, Jenny's own mother went on the record and told the court that her daughter was an unfit mother at the time. The judge noted he had never presided on a custody case in which a mother had denounced her daughter in such a manner. Jenny's parents saw the signs first-hand of what was going on: Leaving her 3-year-old son at home alone, along with the lifestyle of booze, drugs and revolving door of men. They knew that, for the sake of their grandson, that this just couldn't continue. They knew the welfare and safety of their grandson was on the line, and that Jenny was not making him the priority in her life. They tried to help her by having her move back home to New York, along with her young son. They told Jenny she could resume her acting career there. Jenny wasn't having any of it, and the scene culminated in a falling out.

I only really remember her from the original Twilight Zone: She played Billy Mumy's babysitter in the episode "Long Distance Call" who had to watch Mumy's character attempt to drown himself in the swimming pool. She was a beautiful young actress, and it's so sad that her life didn't work out as she hoped.

One of the saddest stories of a young person trying to get into showbusiness. Unprepared for the life and leeches around her, she fell prey to Hollywood and didn't know how to protect herself. Too young and too inexperienced in life, marriage, and being a mom didn't help. It's a shame her son had everything taken away from him, including her. I hope his life recovered from the horrible beginning he was given.

The harsh reality is, Jenny was often her own worst enemy. She plunged into marriage at 17 and, ignoring her parents' advice, refused to have it annulled. She becomes a mother at 19 and proved to be gawd-awful at it. She often left her toddler son unattended while she went out, drank and partied with her Hollywood friends. Her double life of indulging in booze, drugs and affairs would ultimately take its toll on just about every aspect of her life. Her career, her marriage, and her relations with her parents all took serious hits or were ruined outright. Worst of all, of course, it cost her custody of her son. She was on top of the world and on the silver screen with Elvis in 1961; but by 1964, she was battling to stay relevant on the Hollywood circuit. Much in the same way Elvis found himself dethroned by the Beatles; young actresses like Jenny and her friend, Sandra Dee soon found themselves fighting the fall into obscurity at the expense of the likes of Raquel Welch, Sharon Tate and Julie Christie. Jenny was ultimately taken cruelly and well before her time. Unfortunately, she failed to see beneath the dollar signs of her sugar daddy to find the ruthless evil that would prove to be the cause of her demise; and yes, her son ended up as shortchanged as anyone.

WOW, what an ageless beauty she was, sadly never heard of her until today, but I'm sure I had seen her in the past, as I've seen many of the shows she stared in. What a tragic story, but ones like this are all to familiar, especially in Hollywood(and outside of it as well). It seems she was her own worst enemy when it was all said and done, and often times death is the only way to find peace, and I sure hope she found it in the end. While she never got justice in the courts, the story that was put together in the end seems more than believable, and I hope it brought her loved ones peace of mind when it was all said and done. RIP Jenny

The article in Los Angeles Magazine entitled, What Really Happened to 1960s Starlet Jenny Maxwell?, tells pretty much the same tragic tale. I probably saw many of the TV show episodes in which she appeared. Sadly, her name doesn't even ring a bell for her professional career or her untimely demise. It really must not have garnered much press at the time. The part of the story that still puzzles me is her husband telling friends of a bullet wound months prior to their murders. What was the point? Did the alleged break in and wounding really take place? How does that actually relate to their murders at Jenny's condo if at all? Has the weapon ever been recovered or been involved in any other crimes? I wonder if her son ever inherited anything. They were still married when they both died. I would think that by CA state law, as his wife she was entitled to a certain portion of his estate, whether he liked it or not. He allegedly had her murdered to keep her from getting anything through the CA divorce courts.

Jenny had no will, and since her husband survived her (though not for very long), everything went to him, and then to his daughters from a prior marriage. They gave nothing to Jenny's boy, Brian.
