Because they are buffing the wrong thing. It was never a damage problem he always had enough damage. It's the stupid LL that's the problem..or atleast JY shoulda had a trace where he gets significantly stronger the more stacks LL has so there would be use in attacking while LL was on 10 stacks. Argenti has a similar problem where he's stuck in a T1 Ult state until 2 rotations later meanwhile, other DPS have already popped off..

In my opinion, what they should’ve done is made his lightning lord similar to the aeon path abilities in simulated universe, where you can tap it and the lightning lord will immediately take effect, but in return maybe delay Jing Yuan’s next turn by 20% to make it not too OP

Beleive it or not right now in Pure Fiction he is a top pick for the fastest clears, i'm sure this will change when Aglaea comes out(not sure how good she is in pure fiction), but just because another character is better doesn't mean he will get worse. Though hsr power crepts characters pretty fast but i'm sure he'll get another year or so before he comes like Kafka, Sunday really does push him up.

Yeah his actual buff is defently coming with all the new 'Summon/Pet' support that seems to be coming, Sunday and Lingsha seem, along with the newer relics very very heavily hint it's goign to be a feature of the future of HSR to focus on, like how break got big in 2.X, and it made Ruan Mei much more desirable for her unique buff.

I still use my JY in fact he was the one to deal with aventurine in last AS JY issue is that the devs did not know what they were doing when designing characters/erudition/summon/and enemies almost all heavy crowed control debuffs are delt from lightning weak enemies which make you question why they specifically stat that LL will not act if JY is CCed its like they rigged the battle field from the start the stacks not carrying over was a mistake that as you stated even Blade suffered from (which show the dev were still learning) at the start of the game the vision was not for massive powercreep, thus 4 and 5 stars were not that much different in power stat but soon as they released DHIL and JL that when powercreep start to show itself which show why 1.0/1.1 DPS are not relivent anymore not even Seele/QQ will some character improve our general further, yes but will that be enough for current meta i dont really think so in hsr its very obvious not to pull on re runs (unless you just want the character) even in current AS my DHIL perform horribly cause the FUA buff is much stronger than the basic attack buff so ratio/topaz team was better than hypercarry DHIL out of old 1.0/1.1 characters only Pela//Tingyun/Hemiko/Herta sees some relevance cause they have a way to abuse current meta vision (frequent follow-ups, break, need for debuffs)

@@randyjr.arsenio5624 Unfortunately he can not take advantage of those as he does not have any special mechanics that modern dps have that have special multipliers on top. It is why when you want to make Jing Yuan stronger you invest in his supports. Not in JIng Yuan.

Does Hybrid build Jing Yuan work? like Crit Rate/Dmg with Break, Sunday and Fugue with a Sustain. cuz I saw a Firefly hybrid build with 220% Break with 59% Crit rate and 140%ish crit Dmg, at E0 can casually do 340-360K dmg

What really happened is Sparkle and Robin buffed up every crit dps in the game other than those two character there hasn't been any buff to Jingyuan that made much difference and he does just fine in all game modes. His biggest problem will be solved soon but obviously that not going to make him beat the new favored dps but he stays a strong option.

He is a 1.1 Unit. He wont be meta even with sunday buffing him. His base dmg is really weak compared to recent units and especially to 3.X characters. People need to stop coping that their old 1.X characters gonna be meta in the future. I hear the same BS with Blade.

I think a little stronger is an understatement, I can see him jumping to ratio level of good especially if you have Robin. like your doing so much damage with Robin ult which is easy to maintain with Sunday especially at e1 or with bronya lc atleast. Obv Jing yuan isn't going to jump up to some crazy DPS but he will be a lot better and able to at least hold his own a little against like ratio, and ofc Sunday can always get buffed before his release

Tbf there's already gameplay of Sunday and Jing yuan working together, and he solves his biggest issue. It's not like most ppl are claiming he's acheron level now but jy can actually be like ratio tier. Especially if we count Robin as well, since the two work very well together.

I appreciate Jing Yuan, because he set early expectations fror husbandos, flushing away as many disappointed husbando players as possible. The real world meta of any gacha game is character design, not power level. If Jing Yuan, Blade, and Luocha had sold well, HSR would be horrible sausage party today. Thank the aeons that wasn't the case.
