If you still feel like his persona was just empty, and he was just chaos, you should really do some real research on the joker. You just now are grasping the concept of the joker. It’s not that he was ever JUST a chaos obsessed clown. Just know he was never an empty shell of a character.

The King of Numbers but it does raise awareness about mental health to an extent because speaking about mental problems is almost like a taboo in our society. If you have a mental illness everyone expects you to act like you don’t have one, and if you can never speak about it to friends or loved ones and only a therapist how are people who can’t afford a therapist supposed to improve? The movie sheds light on many problems that aren’t spoken about often and that’s why I love it; it’s thought provoking and controversial. It’s not just another safe origin story about a mindless villain who wants to cause chaos for no good reason.

Fredrik Johansson Absolutely. I was so moved with Joaquin Phoenix's performance. Respect to Heath Ledger for sure but for me, Phoenix elevated the character in a remarkable and unprecedented way. Ryan Hendrickson Bruce was like 10-12 years old. Joker is 30. Pattinson’s Batman will probably be 25-30. That would put joker at 45-50.
