hahaha, i am backreading the comments and found it funny , that some fans just found out about this, i don't know why, but its kind a simple why music shows are expensive first expense = Tax , broadcast station pays tax to the South Korean government, the bigger revenue the broadcast station has the higher the tax second expense = broadcast license, in order to watch it and air it, you need to pay a license to have rights to air it in South Korea third expense = Building Lease, i don't know about it, but most companies just lease the building for a certain number of years then they renew the lease if its up fourth expense = logistics, in order to for the production equipment to be delivered fifth expense = production equipment's, a studio equipment is different from a consumer equipment, fee is higher when using a commercial equipment's sixth expense = production crew, c'mon this is common sense, there a lot of employees in a broadcasting station, and they have salaries that put food on the table seventh expense = backstage crew, these are your make up artists, PA, etc.. they get payed too, every year these expense increase, kind of inflation what happens if one increase, it has domino effect on each expense, I'm pretty sure, employees get increase too every year, they are just not letting you know these expense could take millions, if there low advertisements on each program of the broadcasting station, where do they put the burden, that's right to the agencies of the artist, a deal will take place in order to get a slot on the show this in return will add on the expense of the agency, then the agency will surely discuss this with the artist's and put in contract if the artist signs, we are assuming they read the contract but this is where it gets sad, because for the artist's it will be a hit or miss, if the artist is gifted but presented with not so well composed music, this will have effect on the result if the artist got lucky with a nicely composed music but the artist did not do well, this will have effect on the result if everything comes into place, the artist will be lucky and be like BTS these are the expense in the background for fans, so support your biases, and buy their merchandise, as will help them lower their debts and encourage them to not loose hope for artist whoever is reading this, carefully select the choice of music you will use, because this will make or break your career, this will help your debt situation see yah! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

While it is a benefit, especially for lesser known idols, it seems like a scam by the broadcast companies taking advantage despite the low viewership due to viewers changing the way they consume media. Hopefully something new arises that'll get nugus the exposure they need, while also not being so demanding physically and monetary.

I laugh a bit thinking why idols cry when they get their win. It's because they have to treat producers/people to dinner with their profit of only $36 while spending $7000 Maybe that is the reason why, some idol groups are going global having foreign members so they could gather more fans from their foreign members' country.

This set-up is so unfair. The broadcasting companies get all the money. The corporate side of Korean entertainment is even more corrupt than it seemed.

These 50000 Won ($36) is more likely getting a discount for their food, drink and transportation expenses for the day. In reality, groups and companies pay a LOT more than the 10 Mil Won (around $7000) per week expenses mentioned here, to appear on variety, reality and radio shows as promotion. The music shows are a gateway to the the rest of the TV world for idols and groups. And to their survival. So they're getting paid a lot of money for the privilege.

yet everyone especially knets still bash idols heavily for the smallest things and still not give a damn what these idols have to go through just for your enjoyment

if it really was that expensive to promote groups with many members then we should be seeing a downward trend in # of members in these new groups. but as u can see like Illit and Baby monster they have 5 and 7 respectively. so it seems like many members isnt the problem and its still affordable.

The 2nd thing is because usually only the rookies or the less popular groups are placed in the first 30mins of a music show or first 1 hour..a lot of viewers dun even tune in to the show for the first 30mins or 1 hour ..so all the effort spent performing and recording is wasted..

no one is talking about the banning? the producers/chief producers are so petty. imagine getting into a car accident (a very valid reason not to attend) and instead of going to the hospital you went on music show just because you cant afford to be banned. these producers really have a god complex/narcissist

In this day and age that give ain't worth the take. I agree with why idols company would NOT think it worth it as THEY already put in 1000s *actually moving with the cost of the worlds inflation* more for their groups to create in general. I will always stand with the artist getting paid and exposed the BEST way for THE ARTIST. A music show can turn real exploitative for the talented, young, and determined artists willing do anything for their shot💔

No wonder idols and some entertainment companies go under financially. Greedy Directors needs to stop using their powers over these music shows 🌏

No idea there was all this mental and financial gymnastics happening for shows! The broadcast companies get paid by the artist/agency, pre sns days this made sense, but now they get all the revenue from sns too! This needs revisions, for sure

Fun fact you see all those money that the company gets but the artist only get small to none payment so going to this shows or music show doesn’t benefit the artist at all. That’s all over the world, if you want to see when this first discovered, watch TLC (girl group in the 2000)

They don't appreciate their Idols enough and they always take them for granted especially BTS, it's no wonder they prefer international shows which is more better for them and is more lucrative than it is in their home, which they deserve every penny, they work very hard for it
@jordicarvajal28348 ай бұрын
BTS also got disrespected a lot on Korean shows in the past. Also they are not an average K-pop group, there global superstars so it makes sense for them to perform more on the international stage than in their home country
