Label promotion & the money of major record labels have more to do with sales than talent. Fantasia initially was on a major label w/ major platform exposure due to American Idol. By default she'll sell more than most gospel artists or independent artists because she had more money & a bigger machine behind her. That doesn't take away her talent, but her sales don't have anything to do with her talent or lack of it. If that was the case she'd be selling millions of more records because her singing actually warrants that. However, due to label politics and promotion she doesn't sell or get promoted the way a Taylor Swift does for example. Is Taylor Swift a better singer than Fantasia? Hell no, but because she's more "appealing" to most of America she'll get a bigger push. So again, Fantasia selling more than Kim doesn't mean she's "better" than Kim. There's more to record sales than just talent alone is my point. I'm a fan of her & Kim SHOULD HAVE NEVER made that statement. However, opinions aside, when it comes to straight musical ability Kim is leaps & bounds above Fantasia & most artists. That's not an opinion, musically that's a fact. Kim is an incredible pianist, songwriter, arranger, & producer as well as singer. Fantasia just sings. She's GREAT at it, but that's all she does. My point initially was Kim has no reason, musically speaking, to be jealous of her. Sometimes we get caught up in our opinions, feelings, & emotions & don't realize what we're saying.
