The Mavericks answer for the defense is after the start of the game with Luka, Kyrie, Klay, PJ and Lively is to split up Luka and Kyrie and sub in Marshall or Grimes. The Mavericks are going to be really deep this year and will play the top ten players more minutes. The main lesson from the loss to the Celtics in five is that Luka was beat up and in pain and Kyrie was not at 100%. Klay will average twenty-five points per game. The Mavericks should make it a major point to change the offense to more motion and a whole lot less Luka drives into the paint. Luka and Kyrie should rotate every six minutes in the second and third quarters allowing them to have more energy to finish games in the fourth quarter. Everyone on the Mavericks should get used to playing a maximum of thirty-five minutes per game. This will take a lot more coaching and teamwork, but it will also keep Luka, Kyrie, and Klay healthy and stronger for the playoffs. Getting another ballhandler like Dinwiddie would also help the rotation for Luka and Kyrie.
