The other advantage of having multiple deflector shields would be (I'd imagine at least) the ability to have the shield conform to the body of the ship more so that it was being more efficiently used rather than the "bubble" you see around other ships, especially capital ships. So, instead of having to stretch the shield out more, making it weaker, it would be more concentrated.

I actually have a feeling when ILM created this ship for Rogue One they may have reused assets from The Force Awakens, since the folding wings of the Delta T-3c look a little *too* similar to the Upsilon-class shuttle, given the length and stylized wingtip design.

The wings are not aerodynamic, they are “lifters” antigravity, used to maneuver, and to escape a planets gravity, X wing use them mostly to maneuver at the cost of speed etc,(as the anti/gravity system pulls on the wings planes) Heavy shuttles mostly for lifting

You're right about that. I say that the Old Republic era would be the best similarity - there are two major factions that are odds with one another, and there are smaller factions that mess with both sides. The Carrion Spike was considered faster because of its more powerful navcomputer allowing it to make longer distance jumps without the need to drop back to real space to calculate the next set of co-ordinates. Less time spent stopped doing recalculations means a faster travel time.
