No one should condone that. Larry is a grown adult. People make mistakes. Even if he’s frustrated with his life and tried to make a joke like that, he shouldn’t have laughed off his apology once he realized that what he did was wrong. Young kids will think it’s okay to bully as an outlet to their frustrations since that’s Elmo’s target audience and many of them may be watching this and are in the phase where they imitate what they see. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sesame Street actually sued Larry since many people may try to sue Sesame Street after their children may have watched that without a tv warning stating there may be possible violent scene that many people prefer not to expose their children to. Even if that doesn’t happen, Larry is getting to the age where he may need people to take care of him and it’s that generation that he taught violence is okay to that will likely take care of him.
