I wish my primary school math teacher can understand the fun in math so she can teach the fun part to me to enlighten me. Until now I know the beautiful things in math, and I want to understand it, but it become really hard. It’s a feeling like, I know how beautiful music is, and I want to hear it, but it become really hard because I am deaf.

Its easy to say we should learn maths, for those of us who were traumatised by maths, how do you actually begin the process of relearning or being introduced to maths again, I don't know where to start to learn about maths..........

I guess you want to make it a process - try and find a subject in whatever area you find interesting (geometry, algebra, whatever) and see if you can follow the line of argumentation. If you cannot, dont become frustrated in yourself but know that you will just have to go further back - elementary arithmetic, fractions, simple equations, etc (going back to the foundations). At some point you will be able to follow, and from there, work your way up at your own pace. And remember to enjoy it! Peace

I was traumatized by my high school teacher. He merely showed off his mathematical prowess making mathematics a dry boring and scary area. I owe all my feelings towards mathematics to him. Now that I am grown up, trying to mend my affair with it now.
