One incredibly crucial detail that you have to mention on the Kai'sa fight is that there was nothing to fight over, no objective. Her team started a fight with a numbers disadvantage for no reason. That is an extremely important piece of information when talking to players of low elo because as it is, the message that example gives (and the whole video to a degree) is "you play better than your teammates so nothing they do matters and you have to go in only to capitalize on mistakes" and that is a dangerous message to give low elo players because it's simply not true. You don't always play better than your teammates, you don't always know what's going on, you can't always capitalize on mistakes (primarily because you're not good enough yet) and ignoring a perfect engage like that had there been any epic monster or even inhibitor tower exposed would arguably be griefing.

In Team Games in general its often advised every member to be the strongest on the team, obviously that doesnt work, but it will push everyone higher and higher. Sport Animes really going into this concept. Haikyuu or better Kuroko no basket as probably the best examples. like the wukong example. everyone was able to carry the fight if someone made a mistake. (with that i mean senna and wukong) thats a team diff right there.

Amen! Every time I play with my buddies my support goes full carry and starts fights 1 v 3 or 2 v 3 for the sake of placing 1 ward. Not only is it a bad matchup but he’s playing a scaling support while trying to fight as much as possible in the early mid game

Yep, using your defensive options to bail and barely survive a clearly bad engage is a recipe for instant missing pings from your entire team. The problem is too at low elo sometimes players are too conservative and bail on winnable fights. It is pretty frustrating to take an obviously winning fight while your bot teammates stand by and watch, leaving you to die. In a lot of cases it's better just to go down with the ship because A. it lets you limit test, B. sometimes the fights work out in your favor, and C. it preserves your team's mental. I think these hard and fast rules are good more so to challenge low elo habits, rather than necessarily steadfast rules to apply to your games. League is very situational, so for example if I'm behind or the enemy team has a heavily fed assassin and my chances of coming back or impacting the game as ADC are minimal I'll just commit to whatever fight happens and die. But if I'm ahead and in a position to carry, or if I have a big shutdown, or if there's a huge wave and/or free tower for me to collect I'll bail. Same thing with their "never teamfight" rule. Hector carrying while split pushing as ADC in low elo is more a function of his superior map awareness, decision making, and mechanics. They try to argue that it's better to funnel gold onto one person and that in teamfights the kills will be spread out, but in reality there's usually one person in each low elo game who is substantially more skilled than the others and all the kills will go to them. It doesn't matter if you're at 8cs/m at 15 minutes when everyone else is at 4cs/m when the enemy midlaner or jg is already 12/2 by that point. Plus getting caught once or twice in a sidelane pretty much undoes any advantage you gained by split pushing. And it's very easy to get caught, especially when nobody wards and you don't have a good feel for how quickly various champs can get across the map yet. That being said these rules are really good for breaking out of bad habits. I used to always lose midgame because I'd just follow my team around while they pointlessly wandered looking to aram mid. My wr spiked when I initially started following the don't teamfight rule, but has been falling since I've swung too far in the other direction. It's all about finding a good balance.

I recently had a game where, as Ashe, I grouped with the team for a soul fight. We’re set up in the river near mid, with the enemy in their jg, grouped and taking care of wards (we’d warded everywhere). As I almost arrive, my team just runs left into a bush, as I’m left out in the open. I’m suddenly alone as the enemy gets to the river, with Naut hooking me, Kha’Zix jumping on me and Darius and the rest of their team running at me. I die over the course of around 2 seconds due to Shieldbow. My team now exits the bush and aces their team, taking no casualties other than me, with them all being above 50% HP. I guess they just decided I was bait, and the Caitlyn mid was the only ADC they needed. Kek.

I don't think smurfs need a guide on how to win in low ELO. ------ BETTER ADVICE If you have enough skill to deserve moving out of your current ELO but aren't full-on smurfing, you can't play selfishly as instructed -- it's bad tactics. You don't have the experience to carry your team even if you get a bit fed. ADCs are notoriously fragile. If you play to get fed and 1v5, what actually happens most of the time is you eventually make a big mistake and throw the entire game. You've let your teammates die so they are down on gold/XP, you are higher level so your death counter is long, and the enemy team wins the game or takes 3 big objectives while you sit dead in base. ... Fragile roles like ADC are meant to enable your teammates to build tankier and take damage for you. They give up offense to survive, and you as the ADC absolutely must be in position to deal out the damage in their place. This means two things -- you must not be so far away that you can't attack, and you must not be so close that you get killed. If you aren't there, they die slowly and neither of you get any gold. If you die, they die afterward and neither of you get any gold. The only scenario where you get gold is when you are in position to deal damage while they take damage. They stall, you kill. ... Playing selfishly will lead you to play from too far away. You'll see that you are at risk and abandon the tank that just went in to buy you time to attack. They'll die, then the enemy will come for you. Only this time you have no tank, so you'll have to run again. You can't win that way. At some point you have to fight, and the best time to fight is that moment when your tank went in. Go where the tank goes, and only run once the tank loses aggro (or dies, and the fight is going badly). ... The two mistakes I always see from ADC players: - going in first, forcing your own tank to rush in to save your sorry behind. - not going in at all after your tank has committed to trying to fight ... Both of these are just leadership issues. As ADC, your tank tells you when to fight. If you don't like being the one who follows orders, you need to be playing as the tank not the ADC. That's just how LoL works; you'll cost your team (and yourself) wins if you are stubborn about it. And it's also why ranking up as ADC is hard; you need at least one competent tank on your team, who is making good calls on when to go in. There are 2-3 roles that often build tanky; top, jungle, and support. (Your mid is usually in the same boat as you, wanting a tank in front of them; even Yasuo who is melee ranged wants that.) The odds are not bad that you'll have at least one competent tank on your team. Figure out who is making decent calls, and don't let them down. ... I will say that if you have no competent tank, there's something as ADC that you can do. But it isn't "play selfishly". Tank up. The tank's job is to keep you alive so you can deal damage. If they aren't doing it or aren't able to do it, you have to keep yourself alive. It means doing less damage, in terms of raw stats and dps. But dead ADCs deal 0 damage per second, so you do the math. I would point you to Wit's End, Guardian Angel, and any number of items that have both health and AD on them to tank up while still building as an effective ADC. Sometimes just doing this will take the pressure off your struggling tank, which helps them get back into the game a bit. It can win a lost game.

What they are saying is not to necessarily 1v9 every game, is how to consistently get leads, not throw and then close the game. As an adc, your biggest job is to gain gold to hit your item spikes and do a bunch of dmg, and they already did a lot of guides covering that. The purpose of this video is to teach adcs how not to throw their leads by playing a team fight poorly. The adc job in the fight is to do as much dmg as they can without dieing, and knowing when the fight is already lost is a valuable skill since an adc dmg doesn't matter if you know u cant win the fight, so just getting away is the best option, cause if you dont die u can still farm lanes and jungle in order to keep getting gold, while if u just die with your team u cant get any gold, which delays your farm and items, and risks giving shutdown bounty for the enemy, which is even worst. Playing for the team is good in organised play like clash or pro play, but in solo q the only thing u can do to get better is to find consistent ways of impacting the game positively. And as an adc, that way is to simply win lane, farm everything, get items, do dmg and dont die. Thinking on a team perspective doesn't help cause it relies on your team being good enough, and in soloq, sometimes they are, sometimes they are not. The only factor you can control is yourself, so the only way you can get consistent is to learn how to abuse your leads the most effective way, and use that to win your games without necessarily relying on your teamates to do their job well. If they are good you have an easy win, if they are bad then u need to find a way to carry them. It wont work every time, but if works most of the time then thats enough to get better at the game and climb

One game I had I was doing poorly as a Xayah, Caitlyn was pretty fed. I was barley working on my second item, So understanding the disadvantage I had against the enemy team, I chose to stay back in team fights and watch for anything I might be able to help with, but I ran away most of the time because my team would get obliterated by the enemy (none of us were very good except our lux). Later in the game after some farming and helping a little in some kills, I started to get my items, and was actually able to help in team fights and killed most of the enemy. My top and jungle: All Xayah does is runaway from team fights and steals kills from me, gotta love it.

Support players are complete dogshit compared to their same ranked "peers". The justification is allways the same "it's not that I'm bad at the game, I'm just a support player" lol Why do you think so many chicks play support and so few play lanes that actually requires skill? Support is a good place to hide your lack of skill. Any mid/top/jungler/adc from your elo could outdo you as a support player if you give them a few games to practise, your role is pathetic. the only supports that require actual skill to play in this game are pyke, sometimes leona, senna..... and I think that's about it off the top of my head. If your team didn't win by the time kassadin is lvl16 then your team just deserves to lose.

well you were certainly in range of that kassadin. Either you write something to your teammates to peel kassadin away from you or you just wait out of vision (you can buy controll wards) until kassadin has 0 mana or like is dead or something to then go in and carry that fight. Or you get Zhonyas,or Guardians or something and hope its enough.

@@mauer1 So basicly it is out of my control when he has flash, my team wont peel, we are during siege of their nexus so they have vision of me no matter what, he had blue buff and noone was able to kill him because my mid laner was the one that fed him in the first place. yeah i think skillcapped missed the mark on this video [definitely a rarity]. a lot of what is said isn't super good advice. take the teemo clip. if you leave teemo alive there, he has his blind still, and he's gonna do a lot of damage to that ezreal. at least by taking out teemo he secures that hecarim can actually clean up the fight. in the last clip you guys say that wukong shouldn't be engaging for his team because you have to rely on your team to follow up which is not a good mindset to keep,specifically in that game. Senna is 15/4 to wukong's 6/4/8. it's better for wukong to look for the fight and let the fed senna do the damage she's supposed to do as the adc in that instance. Love your content skillcapped, but this video definitely could've used some more work :/

Teemo had no health to even blind anyone. If teemo ever tried to touch ezreal he would die instantly, so yes, it was better to back off and wait for hecarim to engage on senna. The wukong example is kinda jebaiteble. If the senna was popping off that game and playing very well, then its ok to wukong to engage and trust on her to carry the fight. But if she was doing too many mistakes during the game, then wukong should never count on her to carry no matter how fed she was, and should instead do what they said: wait for the enemy team to overextend on senna and kill them all.

7:30, as a Kaisa main, that's exactly what I would do in my silver elo right now too, really stupid teammates, stupidly forcing fights by bad position and dying 1 by 1, there is no way in hell Kaisa would kill at least a single target there if she ulted to the backline or whereever else, instead she could potentially get maybe 1 kill and then would have been chain CCed to the death. That one iirc requires a very team fight heavy/damage heavy roaming support and getting ahead with good plays in lane and in good roaming opportunities toward Jungle/Scutt/Drake, then again toward Mid and then again up toward Herald/Top based entirely on careful monitoring of how foolproof you ahve set up your botlane.You can't contrl the Jungler your supporting. You can't control the Mid you're roaming to. You can't even control the ADC you're relying on safely farming. But in the right roam windows you should at least be able to get something done every time you're in of said positioniong. Be that if you get roam timing and invade the enemy jungler or gakn on drake/scutt with your jungler. Maintain vision. Gank mid. Or just hover for joint pressure Mid/Bot. But it's the kind of that feels more limited to champs like Zyra, Brand, Velkoz, Xerath, Pyke, Sett, Pantheon, Seraphine, Sona (???), Senna, Bard, Lux, Morgana (???), etc. Essentially: The more agency your support pick has in actually deciding a teamfight,t the betteri t should be for selfishly carrying. Also I feel like Mejai's is an almost necessity (obvs not ony Pyke or Senna) due to the economic value and scaling potentitial plus enhance roaming/map prio. While it's probably possible to carry on other champions, When you're agency in a teamfight is something like chain-stun the enemy and home your teammates have the wherewithal to actually do the damage on them before the CC wears off and the enemy just kills you, well... That would probably be way more difficult. Whereas letting your team int just to land a good Brand-Ulti could very well win you a teamfight on its own. Regardless of whether your teammates decide to try and help.

all of this play selfishy is pretty much teamfight related, as the avarage catch supporter like thresh or morgana, you rather catch roaming enemies off guard than commiting fully to a teamfight. but if you get into a teamfight you would still play pretty selfishly, making huge areas for yourself to stay in. and looking for good all in spots. Like when an enemy jumps onto your carry and you cc'd him, you took your carry as bait to get your spells onto that target. (also pretty much helps your carry, i mean you are a support after all) As an enchanter this is way easier, as you are doing it anyways. you are sitting way back behind your backline and looking as they are fighting each other, while providing utility to basically everyone and carrying with that. As utility is way overpowered in any game.

I'm realy bad at early farming. One of the biggest mistakes I see is that people stop farming. And roam only for a fight or an enemy mistake. When I have 20 creeps some will have 36. At the end (when we are losing hard) I usually have 60+ cs more then the enemy player with highes cs.

About the trist need to retreat situation is so similar to me if I back off even though I'm an assassin. I killed a key target and backs off but still my teammates just go straight to the enemies and died. Suddenly, they flame me for no reason but I know it is crucial for me to back off

That fight at 7:40... I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to stay away. even if it’s a 4 v 5 I think as Kaisa you ult to the left of Swain when he gets knocked up by WuKong kasia gets iso Q damage off and pretty much instakill him. Assuming the rest of his teams cc comes through as it did it’s just a won fight with Kasia hitting autos. And they have extra armor/mr from mountain soil. Yasuo went in 1 v 3 and killed the swain. With kaisa autoing it’s a won team fight. I generally agree with the idea of walking away at a lost fight, but that doesn’t seem like a good example

So im still learning but I can think back recently to a few games where as a ACD there were some really bad fights and rather than going in and dieing I sit back and try to take a few shots and run when my team dies. Two times this happened I was flammed by my team saying I dont do shit.

well first of all, /mute all . or if you dont need pings. /fullmute all that makes life way easier. but I cant see if those fights in particular where correct, if you were able to carry them as teamfights are very random. 10 totally different champions with totally different items on a totally random map point with totally random cooldown isnt something i can predect of you saying, im an adc and those were bad fights.

Ezreal did the right thing. There was two options for him regarding Senna : - Trying to fight her back, which is pretty much impossible because of how fed she is ; - Kiting back towards Gragas, who was up against Shaco/Yuumi, who could've stopped chasing the fat guy to kill him. Plus, he would've pulled Senna away from the incoming Hecarim. Even if he did the latter and somehow survived with his team still killing Shaco, Yuumi and Senna, Teemo would've been at base by now, ready to defend the turrets with his mushrooms. There's no way Ezreal could've stayed to push if he was low, and there's no way Hecarim could've pushed the way he did if Teemo was alive. Plus, given how low Hecarim was after killing Senna, if Teemo wasn't dead, he definitely could've finished him off.

Hit the most valuable target? If you’ve played league for more than a few games here and there, you should know, that attacking the best available target that puts the least amount of impeding death threat to you as adc is the best. Also, if you are ahead, grouping is good to push the advantage, take risky fights on your terms and punish hard, you don’t have to be fullbuildendgameanusdeströyer666 until you can start effectively grouping to get the best result. In fact if your team loses fights as 4v5 when you’re splitting and your team is ahead, you are making a mistake as an adc.

Alot of games I see players too afraid to use their abilities because they are "the carry". So malphite has ult and flash do I just afk in base? No, you position so if he ults you it's a solo ult and prepareto flash it. You can't just not do damage. I won so many games cuz enemy team adc is too afraid to auto.

what you didn't mention is that if the ezreal didn't blow everything to finish teemo his darius would have spam pinged him and flamed him for "letting teemo get away". The Darius convinces the team that ezreal deserves to lose and starts a surrender vote. Hecarim is the only no and the surrender goes through 4 to 1. Worse yet, the darius is played by tyler1 who tilts off the planet and starts running it down mid over and over.

The problem of these guides is that most people suck, so you get teammates from hell that think they did the right thing after throwing. The mindset you describe is only useful in a handful of players, so it is really annoying how recurrent it is becoming in low elo ranked games.

OMG actually a genuine video about ADCs. I stopped watching these videos as all they are about is mid-top lol. For example, if I see a "how to lane" video, I already know it's about mid and just skip. @2.04 Btw Ezreal is just in a bad position. If he hugs dragon pit he can take Teemo while if counts on Hecarim (do not count on anyone in ranked but he's obviously running on Senna) by the time they start 1v1 Heparim can join for a 2v1. And a kill matters even on that Teemo. Not for the 300 gold but the 40sec cooldown makes dear Teemo lose more 250-300gold. Question: Why is Udyr stance animation different on EUNE and EUW? EUW: Shows an actual 3D Model when a stance is activated. EUNE: Shows representative icon when a stance is activated. Since when, and why is it different?

For whatever unearthly reason, people like to try and look for a fight IMMIDIATELY after taking baron for absolutely no reason, and end up dying and losing their buff. Or they'll sit around and farm jng monsters and scuttle and roam around for the next five mins instead of USING THE DAMN BARON.
