Legends Luke is what the Disney should have aimed for when making the sequels, they had the entire ground work ready at their disposal. They could still have added their own touches or changes but they still screwed it up royally. Legends Luke really understood the flaws of the Jedi of old and corrected them, it’s very symbolic as well that the son of Anakin (who was affected heavily by the dogmatic ways of the Jedi) would fix them, yet still contain traditional practises.

I agree with what he did with Grogu, but to an extent. Grogu did not want to truly be there, he would have rather been with Din, so he let him go. This is the way, of the new Jedi under Luke Skywalker

He recognized the attachment, but didn't try to sever it. He simply told him that his bond was so strong that it was gonna cause him trouble sooner or later, simply on account of their incompatible lifespans. Also he was beholden to a certain life and philosophy that, mature and reformed though the Jedi may be, was simply incompatible with the mandalorian lifestyle. Therefore, instead of forcing him to stay and ostracizing him if he didn't let go of the attachment, he let him choose what was more important to him and was kind enough to make sure he was delivered properly back, no hard feelings retained. Got a feeling that if Grogu ultimately chose to go back to the Jedi for one reason or another, Luke might just take him back. I also don't see Luke pulling the kind of shit the Old Order pulled on Ahsoka in any case.

That shit really only happened cause Kathleen Kennedy demanded that Favreau change his plans,cause she wanted Grogu back front and center in the series, to cash in on the big "Baby Yoda" bucks, like the greedy sith lord she is. Under Kennedy, Luke has been relentlessly dragged through the mud time and time again just to push her politically charged agenda. I always respected how Luke reformed his new Jedi order and learned from the mistakes of the past order. I think the changes he made to the Jedi were great and made sense, and his new Jedi order was the best version of the Jedi ever. Grandmaster Luke was true legend and one of, if not the, greatest Jedi in history.

Not really. Anakin didn't fall because he was attached. He fell because he had mental illness and was literally groomed to be a Sith since he was a kid. The stigma of attachments made things worse, because he couldn't talk to anyone about it, and no one was willing to help him, only abandon him. Plenty of Jedi had attachments...To their fellow Jedi, to their masters and padawans and in some cases to non-official romantic partners...But these Jedi never went off the rails.

It's right that Anakin was treated unfairly by some Jedi but when he had to make the final decision he still struggled a lot. So the fact remains that if he had followed the rules and not married Padme he would not have betrayed the Jedi.

I‘m still hoping that Mando and the Series that follow it will eventually lead to a retcon of the Sequels and a good indicator for that would be showing hints that Luke’s New Jedi Order will start to take after its Legends-equivalent.
