it is beyond stupid to hire 2 defensive coaches to install a new offence that they have no experience with...very very very stupid.

Actually, Davon Godchaux had a weak start with the Patriots early on; But got much better as the year went on. PFF ranked Godchaux the 2nd best Dtackle in the league for the final 9 games of 2021.

Bill should make Edelman QB coach or offensive coordinator. He was a QB in college and played receiver for him, so he understands the position at both ends.

@@nomadicjacksons1486 No, it kinda doesn't. Players aren't calling plays, coaches are. Players aren't scheming people open or actually designing plays, coaches are. Players don't have knowledge on every single offensive position (going through your reads/making adjustments as a qb, reading defenders to know what routes will get open, recognizing blitzes, o line blocking responsibilities, etc.) whereas coaches do.

If they are switching to a "Shannahan" style offense to combat/match up better against modern defenses then that is the job of the head coach. With BB's IQ I believe they can create something unique enough that opposing defenses are going to sweat each week because the offense may have the shell of "Shannahan" but the engine will be totally NE Patriots. If BB feels this confident in the change you can bet he did his homework over the summer.

I love Bill, but this better work or he and his reputation are in a whole lot of hurt. I just hope this experiment does not hurt the development of a young man into a great QB because someone's ego ( Bill) got in the way. That would be a serious unforgivable mistake. A funny coincidence. This morning I took a look at Trey Lance and the 49ers offence. The special key is Deebo a very difficult matchup problem for the defense. So, you're saying Belichick is installing some kind of Shannahan scheme with no Asst Coach who has actually worked in that offense and is literally what? Teach the two former HCs how the offense works? I'm as patience as the next guy, put if someone is saying this offense takes years to learn, if that saying the Patriots are going to tank for years changing to this offense? What I don't understand is the rigid attitude he doesn't need anyone who knows what they are doing in the position that is critically important and that is, leading the offense. We're going to be looking for signs of dementia in a minute if these things don’t work right. Because no coach in the right thinking mind is going to blow up structure and use some unknown products to try and win. It just isn’t done, period. OK, Belichick is given deference, but it must be noticed, and it must be said and recognized, this is completely unorthodox and if it results in losing Belichick will have to answer what is god's name was he thinking with this outer space experimentation program he has concocted to do what? Certainly not win. When you want to win, you do everything to try and win, not come up with wild ideas and experiments to see if it can be done or not. That is just plain unfair to a good team Belichick himself created!

Mac jones was horrible in man coverage the fastest way to force a defense into zone coverage is the outside zone running scheme. The decision to change the entire offense is to help mac, the problem is they don't have personal or coaching staff to do it.
@chrismachabee3128
@chrismachabee3128 2 жыл бұрын
@@eliaswood2708 See, when you use absolute's that don't reflect reality it throws off the point your making. Mac Jones was the best of the rookie QBs. 1st year, he handled business good enough to get to the playoffs. Ok, you say his recievers let him down when they were man on man. Did not Belichik address that issue by getting a 4.2 WR for Jones. Yes, he did. So, the mistake you make is talking about last year. This the Patriots, you know ain't nobody give a flip about last year, because it is not this year. This season has not started. Now this season may be a complete disaster, but I think it safe to say it will not be Mac Jones fault if it is.

Knowing the psychology of the subjects to a small degree , I feel confident it will be the Defense side making more adjustments than the Offense ...they.simplified the regimen and take a mental load pre snap .. and with check downs and progressions ... Other teams will hopefully have to play with less mistakes mistakes...consistent production from FG And Belichick s own hidden yard production /position ... Equals momentum & confidence... ✌️🏈🙏

I think they changed the O-Line too much, but a lot could have to do with Andrews finally coming back after surgery & Ferenz has been playing Center. Ferentz is not good at all. Maybe the O-Line will start playing better as Andrews makes his way back. Also why are they having Patricia coach O-Line & call plays? It should’ve been Nick Caley calling plays. No one does this.

Do you really think they're just going to show and tell their offensive schemes like that, Bill is smarter than that and everyone in these comments for that matter when it comes to Professional Football. Calm Down New England is bluffing like a S.O.B. they want the rest of the league to hear about these struggles, the minute you think lesser of your opponent the more vulnerable you actually become...

Why would you change your offensive scheme when your rookie quarterback got you to the playoffs in his first year? The turnover in the coaching staff is enough change . This seems like a really bad idea. They should have built on the success of last season .This just puts Mac Jones through another rookie season pretty much. To change to an offense that none of the coaches on your staff has ever ran doesn’t make sense at all. At the very least bring in a coach that is familiar with the new scheme.

@@adamelam6385 Look at the difference in the talent around Mac Jones and Justin Herbert. It doesn’t take a genius to see the elite receivers that Herbert had to throw to. Jones didn’t even really have a true number one receiver all year. If you look at the records of the two teams in each of their rookie seasons it’s not as clear cut as you clueless haters want to pretend . Herbert hasn’t made the playoffs yet even with all of the talent. Mac carried a team in his rookie year that everybody had given up on after 6 games (2-4). Then they won seven games in a row which Mac had 9 TDs and only 2 Int . Mac was the catalyst for that winning streak .

By the way, Justin Herbert was just as hyped up even more hyped than Mac Jones was . It’s one thing to put up 4500 yards that basically don’t mean anything.Compared to 3700 yards that led his team to the playoffs.Jones completed 68% of his passes what about Herbert his rookie season?
