Hi, I'm Corey. I am a writer/actor/comedian based in Los Angeles. I have dealt with mental health issues since the fifth grade. Now I want to laugh with them. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, and Depression. I'm not a doctor, but that’s exactly why my brother said I should talk about it.
This is a literal self help channel. For me, and hopefully for you. 🙌

Someone who deals with anxiety disorders and intrusive thoughts this is a great video. Michael A. Singer says 95% of the thoughts we have we don’t create. The mind creates them itself. So why do we have them? He said everything we stored inside is trying to get out but we’re resisting them. Surrendering is the willingness to let go and realize that you are not your thoughts and you are not your feelings once we have established this that’s when we become established in the seat itself.

You are not your mind. It’s like tennis. If your mind was you, you would be the ball. But since you can observe the ball (mind) you are the spectator watching the ball. Once you learn to direct your thoughts and control the mind you become the player in charge of the next thought or lack their of (silence) you seek.

Do you watch the Andrew Huberman podcast? He says that we control the mind with the body and not with the mind. But, I don't think there is a single technique that make miracles, I think it's a set of healthy habits that make the difference and do them every day for a long time, because training the mind to be relaxed and happy, for me, it's like getting good at anything, you can't do it on the first day, but after many days and many days of practice.

Hi Renata! Great to see you here. 🙌 And congrats on your own channel and consistency with making content. It is amazing to think about AND see the future happening right now. 🦾 I do watch Huberman! Great resource. And yes, working on the mind with habits does seem to take time and effort, especially depending on the coding/coping that we developed from childhood haha 😬 But it definitely seems more enjoyable to have a growth mindset in this way and that we can change for a more enjoyable experience in our life. I could of course be wrong. The way I understand it, I see it go both ways. The mind can affect the body, and the body the mind. But then we can look at the mystics who say you can't control the monkey mind, you can only transcend it! Lol. I don't know. I'm just glad to keep exploring. 💛

@@coreybennettboardman Thank you very much for the support! I see you've watched my video! ☺☺I also consider another hypothesis, perhaps we shouldn't assume that we all function in the same way, because what works for one person may not work for another.
