This is my first experience with someone needing space!! I told him if he felt like he needed to take space to work on himself he needs to do it..which he thought he was being selfish, but I told him that it is so important to make time for yourself.. to find yourself again.. he couldn’t believe I was being cool with it. I just said it’s because I love you that I have to let you go, it’s been a few weeks, he has reached on on txt a few times, very kind and sweet messages, which I responded to, short with no pressure emotion back! I will not reach out first 🤦🏻‍♀️I hope that doing this correctly!! IDK 🤷🏻‍♀️

It sounds like you're in the earlier stages of a relationship. I think that's very giving and mature of you to let him go if that's what his heart was telling him. If you two are compatible, I believe he will come back closer to you of his own volition. He may not though, which I know is hard. You can't put your life on hold for him. A good friend of mine fell for a man last year. He had untreated alcoholism that he was not ready to face, and he felt like he wasn't ready for a relationship. It was very hard on her but she let him go. He did end up pursuing therapy and recovery on his own, and a year later they got together! It definitely does happen.

I can see how this is true, but how’s the martian going to come to terms with the Venusian? I think it would be better if both worked towards the needs of their partner. Now it just sounds like venusians need to let go and wait. (Which is literally easier said than done)
