Im 34 and ride a 2014 H-D Ultra (Classic). I have no regrets or interests in going fast honestly. I'd rather cruise at a slow speed and take in the scenery and enjoy the ride.

Norm Cote Nothing sings like those triple cylinder motors. Totally different sound. I've had 3 triumphs and 4 harleys Rode a Rocket III but have yet to own one.... such a sweet bike. A 2000 sprint st with the 955i triple is what started my love for Triumph. Then a 2001 Harley Night Train with the flat black paint started the Harley bug around 2010. Two totally different beasts but both have their own grin factor. With So many great bikes over the past couple of decades shopping for the next bike is very time consuming. Ride on brothers

I had a Road King, was looking for a little more comfort and wind protection. Loved the Street Glides but you get so much more with an Ultra for the money! I'm currently 38 and so I am more of a gen X but I think the Ultra is very cool looking, and very comfortable. I don't understand why so many people dismiss the Ultra as an "old guy's bike" because when you ride one you can't wipe the smile off your face! Also, I love the bible verses. Thank you for standing tall and spreading the Good News.

Jonathan Hickory, my first Harley was when I was in my 20's and it was an Ultra Classic. Everyone said i bought an old man's bike. This sexy Heritage Classic came into the shop and my dealer gave me what I paid for the Ultra in trade for the Heritage. other than the appearance of the bike it was a mistake. I'm 53 now and on a 2017 Ultra Classic with the M8 engine, it does everything you could want a Harley to do on public highways. I routinely ride 500 mile days no sweat. I guess a young guy could call me an old guy these days but I dig my Ultra and have no plans to ever get rid of it.

Sean, just by looking at the gauges (on the right), I can see that this Twin Cam 88 has had the cam chain tensioner problem solved. Yep, the oil pressure is up at 30 psi or so at idle and 65 psi at 40 mph, that tells me the oil pump has been upgraded along with the cam plate to hydraulic tensioners!! It probably has adjustable push rods and I bet it has had the lifters replaced at about 40,000 miles or so. Nice bike, send it to me for my birthday, I don't have 7 bikes in the garage, only 4 and a Road King CVO 103 cu in and a Softail Heritage Springer 80 cu EVO and a Triumph Thunderbird 1600 ABS and they don't count. I will replace my Goldwing with this one if you send it for my birthday... :-) Oh you forgot something else us old guys have figured out. I am old and on Social Security. California does NOT tax Social Security.... I figure that is worth something!

I wouldn't know the difference between an Electra Glide, Road King, Ultra Classic, Tour Glide, Wide Glide etc. I know enough to know that there are many models, a few different engine types and sizes, traditional twin shock or soft tail and a bunch over other models like Dyna, Night Train etc. but as near as i can tell it's mainly different combinations of parts. Hell, i get confused when Moto Guzzi has 4 different variations of their California Special in one year. All i know is that my Cali Stone is the strippo bargain basement special.

And when I have they're uncomfortable without the injuries. The high casualty rates and incident rates are with sport bike riders. Stats don't lie. Neglecte for speed cause significant issues and unfortunately death. Bless those who have lost their lives doing what they love but safety on roads are always a priority. Both have comfortable seats, the Ultra has a nice back rest that works well on long trips. In the end they both have good and not so good aspects. I prefer riding the Heritage when he lets me ride one of his. I now own a Dyna Wide Glide and it feels a lot like the Heritage. I prefer a more traditional type bike over a large touring bike.

The more comfortable the bike is the more often you ride it. That's why lots of these Ultras have high miles.

I own a 2017 Ultra Limited and love it. We looked at other bikes, but kept coming back to the Harley. The 2018 gold wing is very intriguing, but I’m a little disappointed with the reduced storage space. I find myself being able to travel insane distances while being very comfortable. The new Milwaukee 8 has been everything it was promised to be. All of this said, we will probably get a smaller bike scooting to from work. If you think that 2005 is comfortable and runs well, ride one of the new Ultras with the new suspension and geometry.

I recently bought an 08 Ultra so I can ride with me new SO. I like it in spite that it it is not quick. I just sold my 750 Katana. I still have my 03 F650 GS, 99 VFR750C Magna, 79 CB400T and a 75 GT380 triple. I will get another fast bike soon. Is my Ultra my favorite to ride? No. I use it for two-up and will commute on it (I ride 55 miles each way to work, mainly on interstates). I like the Ultra for what it is, a nice comfortable two-up motorcycle. Does it stir anything in my soul? Not really.

I wouldn't mind a nice Harley. But FYI if you can rebuild motors anything with 30k into it can be fast. For maybe 4k full build I could take a single cam Honda and make 500whp+.

I agree, I have an ultra now and I wish I had ADDED it to my group of motorcycles. It shouldn’t replace any if your bikes but is a good addition. 1st summer I had it, I went halfway across the country and went camping, would not have wanted to do that on any other bike. But I don’t use it to commute to work or zip around town.

I waited 62 years to get my Ultra classic.. Better late than never. I LOVE it.. Have had over 30 different motorcycles in my life. This is one of the most fun bikes I've ever owned. Outside of dropping it at stop signs periodically (LOL) I haven't had a spot of trouble with it.. 2008 Ultra Classic. So comfortable two up. It really does limit your speed compared to a sport bike. At 80 mph you really KNOW you're going fast LOL! My son has a beautiful Panigale that is a work of art. Compared to his, this is chiseled out of granite.. But it's still pretty sexy when you see it go down the road....

I own an 07 ultra classic and an 08 softail chopper... I always feel like I'm riding a grandpa's bike when on the ultra classic... but I recently rode my chopper from Houston to Austin.... and, let me tell ya, I had a lot more appreciation for the ultra... I'm 37. For comfort, you can't go wrong with the classic, plus the wife can b comfy too... but, when I wanna get after it, and get looks, I take the chopper solo.... either way, I'm riding.... no cages!!!

When you buy a Harley Davidson you’re buying into a lifestyle. When you buy a rice burner you are buying cheap transportation. I think most millennial‘s just simply can’t afford a Harley Davidson therefore make excuses for owning rice burners. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I bought a Dyna, simply because it ticked all my boxes. I started on a sport bike (albeit, a Harley - Buell XB-9), and also have a Yamaha UJM, but I wanted a bigger cruiser that still handled decently and was air cooled. So, that led me to a 2010 Triumph Thunderbird, and a 2009 Harley Fat Bob. On paper, they're nearly identical. Similar sized engines, similar wheelbase, trail, weight, etc. For all intents and purposes, they are the same bike, painted with a different brush. These two were even the same price, more or less. What got me to the Harley over the (probably superior) triumph is that you can buy Harley parts literally everywhere, whereas the nearest Triumph dealer is an hour away, and everything else would need to be ordered online. And before you start talking Asian bikes, I rode a couple, and they felt plasticky and cheap. There's a reason they're half the price of the two I was looking at... All that said, I wouldn't ever buy a 1st generation Twin-Cam Harley. Never know when they're going to grenade their spring tensioned chain tensioners and lunch the motor.

I’m 36 and definitely ready for a Ultra. I wouldn’t be caught dead on a fairing bike just a few years ago. After riding a ultra last week I have totally changed my mind. Plus I would rather have the ultra and strip it down for street glide look and have the tour pack for trips. Everyone wants a street glide but I like the ultra triple lights and the lowers . So my next bike is definitely a ultra!

These ultra classics are just too big for me. They do ride nice and out on the freeway they are solid. I've ridden an older goldwing, that was nice too, felt much lighter. I personally prefer low and long muscle bikes. Should be picking up a 2014 Victory Hammer within a few weeks here. Plenty of power, but still can just lope along the backroads and escape.
This motorcycle RUINED motorcycles for everyone!
