It's OK, but a it can get little Boring if I'm boxed into that look .i love minimal sneakers too,especially those by Bally and Magnanni, but I disagree that,older dudes can't add more flavor to their sneaker game.Its how you do it.How youre clothes fit and how you put it together. You can definitely rock sneakers that aren't minimal, and still be very age appropriate

I agree with you there. I'm only 20 years old, 5'8 and 160 lbs. I could definitely pull off any nike or adidas pair of shoes now, but I'm also thinking about what'll happen to me as I get older. I doubt in the next 30-40 years those will look good on me, so I'm trying to future proof myself by investing in some shoes that I know will look good on me no matter my age.

I am a ‘young’ 59 and agree. The becket simonon are very good, mine are grey and Thursdays roughout sneakers are too. My 3rd pair are puma suede clydes, wore those all my life. I rotate boots, shoes, and those sneakers. Solid video Jeff, much appreciated.

Jeff I bought koio triple whites off your rec. First time I’ve spent that much on a casual shoe. They are such a step above a white canvas shoe, which wear easily and show dirt quickly. The leather seems to keep dirt off naturally so they stay pretty white. Honestly a 10/10 addition to my wardrobe

I picked up some of the Greats Royale sneakers after watching one your older videos , in White, & Black to rock and they work well. A little bulky but they work. Looking for some gray & brown as well to complete my color spectrum. You can wear them with, jeans , joggers, and dress pants . You get more use outta them which I like. OG this winter the cold weather in the North East had me look for some winter sneakers after one too many cold days outside while wearing my dress sneakers. I had brought two pairs of winter sneakers from Vans the Sk8-Hi MTE 2.0 DX which is based on their skateboard high-top sneakers. Both in Water-repellent suede the first in gray, black side strips with a white sole and the second in ginger brown, dark brown side strips with a white sole. I aimed to keep them simple as possible and for versatility. My feet were warms on those days except for two certain days when the temperature had really dropped even lower. I had just taken a look at the Vans website and almost all are gone. A bunch of Customs sneakers with way too many colors and too bright in colors. One type of Sk8-Hi MTE 2.0 DX in all black leather with a gum sole is left. The last one would give you an idea of the look but imagine it in suede and the colors I had mentioned before. Hopefully, by next winter they will make more so I can get a third pair in blue.

Minimal sneakers look great and I have a couple of pairs. What I can't shake is low top or mid Jordan, like the 1's, 3's, 4's and low top 6,7,9,11 and 12. Most of my shoes are monochromatic, especially my Yeezys. An OG colorway in nike or Jordan can bring a bit of style to my mature wardrobe. There may be a time for me to give up the Jordan's, but not right now. Not to mention the Air Max and Air Force One should be OG staples.

My personal Observations: Four Sports TV commentators last week was siting around a table and they all had similar sneakers like you're saying. Also, Harry Rosens a high end men's shop in Toronto has most of it's male mannequins wearing low cut sneakers, with even casual suits. Hey, it's a no brainer. And i'm glad that its so widely worn, because it's very comfortable and versatile, (like a go-too shoe) to wear often.

I find that my feet hurt less when I am wearing a nice pair of New Balance sneakers and I am walking in a typical mall where the floors are made of concrete.
