You have the chance to introduce topics of coversation that would otherwise be considered "taboo". If you're familiar with a lot of his material one could make the inference that its more than likely he believes what hes saying, or at least has the nerve to question what everyone is lectured to accept.

Not even remotely close Sergio. This guy is an privately schooled ( at a "public school" which means you just have to have enough money to pay the fees ) Oxford graduate descended from some quite notable people who satirizes the ignorant English bigot of the kind that votes Conservative and hates almost everybody. Carlin wasn't portraying a character and was more of a vicious critic of society in a quite direct manner. I would say that the Colbert Report was a closer equivalent insofar as it is a parody. There are a lot of bigots like "Pub Landlord" in the UK and their other professions of choice are taxi driver or any of the construction trades.
