Unfortunately i wasn't allowed to watch the show while it aired, but my husband and I LOVE this show now and watched it over quite a few times. I bet they could bring it back and get people to watch and talk about it.

rare “let’s start a podcast” w. this series rules and you guys are incredibly insightful i would love to see you guys talk about the actual theology in moralton and how the dynamics of faith work. i know it’s simplified for satirical reasons but i think digging deeper there is interesting cognitive dissonance when it comes to their genuine (deep down ingenuine?) belief in hell!

12:07 this is one of my fave aspects of the show. at first the characters are archetypes filling their roles in the world seen through orel's eyes, then once we are shown their perspectives each character has their own gut punch to give us but in a nuanced and insightful way. and here i was convinced that wasn't possible in the early 2000s lol.

Found about Morel Orel in 2019, been watching it non-stop every day since. My favorite character is Dottie. Hyped to see more people as autistically obsessed with this show as I am. LMAO

I was one of the 5 people Dino mentions. I made specifically sure to catch new episodes. I'm glad people are finally talking about it. Time for a rewatch. ETA: A bunch of you seem to have been literally children when you saw this. 1. I am old now. 2. Did no one else's parents watch their tv shows with them?

It's an honor to meet a fandom elder... on average the Moralton U crew was around Shapey's age when the show first aired. It seemed to have hit a resurgence once it was put on streaming around 2020. None of us watched the show back when we were kids, but we're all over it now that we can really appreciate it!

I was an already traumatized child with insomnia watching it on adult swim 😂😂😂 so many favorite shows discovered that way 😂😂😂 I was 10 when it first aired and watched every episode 😂

@MoraltonUniversity Just imagine me looking wizened lol. It being on streaming makes this make a lot of sense. I'm in Canada so I can think of one local service that might have it but I'd have to sign up through the local cable company. Luckily my partner has whatever a plex server is so I can watch whatever I want.

@mesbalkema9996 LOL, this is how I discovered Jerry springer and In Living Color. The former is very bad and the latter is very good. My parents didn't like either. 😂

I started watching Moral Orel back when it first aired! I was around 10/11 years old. I caught here and there when I was up late enough to see it. I never paid much attention, then I decided to watch it as an adult 2 years ago and have decided it’s one of the best shows ever made animated or not. I really wish Dino would have e been allowed to finish the story like he wanted. I watched it multiple times and now keep my eye out for channels on here that talk about the show, there aren’t a whole lot of them, which is a shame!

So I was around 8 or 9 when the show ended, and yes watching Adult Swim way too young, and i just never enjoyed it as a kid because I didn't really understand any of it that I watched, however you all have shown me just how much was going on behind the scenes, and I'm going to watch it. (I really only caught random eps) Thank you all for contributing to the Fandom, and your video has been really good so far!

I have never watched a single episode of this but watching how you people can get together and make almost as much content commenting on it as seemingly produced of it by its creators warms my heart. That there are still niche channels like this, also I find the discussions you come to during this so relevant that they warm my little, frozen, shrunk down engineer's heart towards the humanities again.

I watched it as it aired, maybe 3rd grade in 05? I love the town and the script, foley, the puppingtons + block, but two characters that have always been my favorites during rewatching are Stopframe and Joe.

23:50 I agree we can talk about this things more today than when moral oral was airing, but from what little I’ve seen of tuca and bertie (plus it being from the same creators are bojack) I feel like it makes sense for that audience to be open to depictions of this than moral oral’s viewers

I have to see these scripts but woooo from how you talked about them it sounds like the series was gonna be so good! It would be nice yo have a shift from orel to all the other characters. I love orel but having more wpisodes from each of them sounds AMAZING. I've recently watched the series after starting your bloberta video, and I've been blown back by how good it is. Nthwre are sl many topics that are handled with such care and respect.... Obviously Alone but even less heavy stuff is treated wonderfully, like the episode with Florence. God i love this show and your videos

I saw moral orel upon release on adult swim as a kid. It dipicted what it intended to way too well speaking as a girl from the bible belt midwest. I was a kid sneaking down to watch the first in the, now several, futurama cancelation marathons and moral orel's premier came on just before the start. I didnt understand it as satire but instead a genuine depiction of the depression felt within small town communities. Now understanding the jokes as an adult, I see how at the time lot of people would have been confused at where the joke was. I thought it fit right in with adult swim who tackled lots of taboo topics, so I didn't question it. I prefered it to the gore as the quiet horror and dread felt more exciting when I was sneaking downstairs to watch late at night.

is there any way to join these convos abt moral orel😭😭😭? moralton university server petition, i have many thoughts on this show omfg. i have too many thoughts to even put in this comment ive already liked/watched all of your videos and i rewatch the show and reread the scrapped scripts so often. i love putty & i hope you guys explore him/the faith in moralton in general esp in the lens of someone who grew up very christian. this show hits SUUUUCH a harsh blow so close to home for me. thank u guys for your words and analyses on these amazing characters, and too very unbiased takes even. ALSO AS AN AUTISTIC PERSON: i literally felt JUST like orel growing up + reaching an epiphany around my parents similar to nature 1 & 2. i appreciate the open discussion of this series, y’all are great ❤

Hot take. I am glad they ended it at 3 seasons. The original plan was to make Miss Censordoll a literal witch who cast a spell on Clay to make him shoot Orel. I think that would rob the show of it's legendary moment. Also I am a fan of the supernatural elements of this show like the zombies. I think this show is better the more grounded it is. Once we bring up witches with super powers that make the bad characters do the bad things that they do. It kind of ruins it for me.
@yoweedmofo198972 ай бұрын
Totally agreed. I just watched it all this week after discovering this channel. I can understand why someone would want more of the show, but what we were given was kind of perfect. There were some loose ends for sure but for the most part every character's arc was tied up pretty nicely, to where we can speculate confidently on where they end up going forward (e.g. Pastor and his daughter, Joe and Nurse Bendy, etc.), and I really wouldn't have enjoyed the "witch" supernatural elements of the show either (removing blame from characters for their own actions is far less powerful than explaining their actions in the context of their own lives).
@stemcellwhoaxАй бұрын
omg i never heard of that being the plan.
@artemys5197Ай бұрын

I don't think your commentary re:the adult swim execs is entirely correct. They LOVED Nature and specifically requested darker, more serious episodes after it.
