Dear Sebastian As the example goes( tell the truth and everyone will hate you , lie and everyone will love you) tonight I spent 4 hours watching most of your videos, were in some of them you didn’t have any-money and made them through e-commerce or Shopify now your in real estate and making your own business in branding and shipping But I have one question for you , how would you feel if you were watching this Video 3 years ago and someone else is doing this Video. Don’t get me wrong please I am not in the e-commerce and in my opinion e-commerce is not going anywhere but your right there will be a curve , like in any other business.

Karim Lebbos I see what you mean and that’s a good question. The reason I record raw videos like this is to create a mindset shift in people’s mind. This would have saved me time when I first started when I just wanted to make money fast. To answer your question, I would probably would have felt a bit disappointed to know that I was not going to make a ton of money overnight like the gurus say, but I would have heard what was the most beneficial for the long term. Everyone knows it’s the best way to go, but only a few people talk about it because it’s not as “sexy” as dropshipping

I am running a ds store now for a month and pretty much agree with you. I am getting sales but it's is frustrating to answer emails about shipping times and let customers wait for the orders. I am mainly also trying to find good products and focus on quality rather than money. I wonder if you will upload some videos about how to set up warehouses in the US, basically how to get a brand going. How to build your brand whats needed to do it. Obviously it takes more money, like you said, but the revenue will be way higher.

I have my own products and dropshipping products but by now I have much more success with dropshipping. Success depends on different things and do not forget about affiliation marketing. Minimum quantity is only 1 already for a long time ago with Alibaba and USA companies, your info outdated about minimum. And you do not need to order samples, if you work with proved products, you see an excellent review on Alibaba and American companies.

What you're really saying is that we should approach this business as any other and I agree. But if we speak of true sustainability AND drop shipping, what about suppliers OTHER than those from Ali? I feel like you're keeping it real. I have a question about taxes though. In another lesson you said you didn't pay US taxes because you were not selling in the USA, however now you said you changed the model and are producing, warehousing in the USA, from my understanding, you will have to file with the IRS in the states you, produce, warehouse and sell from. Not only that but you have to take taxes from the orders which come from those states...How are you handling this please? Can you do a lesson about this? Thank you!!

E-packet "MUST" convert to 1 week delivery system or the entire model will crash. Jack must adapt and he knows it. Chinese brands must Adapt to the American Market "if" they want to be successful and that means everything that comes with it. The fact that you my friend Sebastian can continue to penetrate another culture successfully especially the US while living abroad is quite a feat and you must be commended for it. But then again you have committed yourself to it and are ALL IN which is the KEY to survival in any instance in life. > thanks as always for the continued information from the front lines.

Wow! I've been a subscriber of your channel for awhile now, but this is actually the first video I've watched. I've been wanting to make my own Shopify store for soooooooooo long now, (like a year) just haven't gotten around to it, because I feel like I don't have "all the details" figured out to be successful. Anyway, thanks for your raw honesty! It's refreshing and I really appreciate it! Quick couple of question though... so you said you still do ecomm but have "switched" the model from dropshipping, to actually having lots of inventory stored in the US (so shipping time is way faster). I totally am with you on this... BUT, how do you know which product will be a "winner"? Even if you get several different product samples and find a quality product, you have no way of knowing if it will actually sell right? Like what if you bought $100 worth of leggings only to realize nobody likes that style? Etc. So there's that... plus I'd like to know, how many different products would you say is good to have in your ecomm store? I'm doing a niche store, not a large general.... and am on somewhat of a limited budget. Is 10 too few? I was thinking 10-15 products that are winners (however you figure that out), buy in bulk and store them in a warehouse. Last question... you are basically creating a private label version of the product, so having the supplier put YOUR LOGO/brand name on the product AND packaging correct? How in the f*** do you accomplish this?? Lol. I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for someone who creates custom packaging or how the Chinese suppliers are able to put your logo/brand on each product before they ship to your warehouse. Holy crap that was the longest youtube comment I've ever left I'm sorry! I'm just VERY interested in this topic of creating an ecomm store but following your model instead of the "guru's" ;). Please when you have time, could you address these answers in a reply in the comments OR preferably, in a FB message. (I just messaged you! My name is Sarah.) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! AMAZING CONTENT SO FAR!!! Love it!!

Hello, I have a question. So imagine, you're starting a brand new store ( I want to stop dropshipping) and manufacture your own products. How can I know that the product I want to manufacture will sell? Since there is no possibility of testing it? I am also starting a new store, and it's a new brand so you won't be able to have free traffic. I can't also start selling the manufactured product in the old website right? Because it already has a bad reputation.

In 2012, I manufactured an Xbox 360 stand that was very unique and you couldn't buy it anywhere online, I made with materials I brought at my local hardware store; at that time I had no clue if it was going to sell but I took the risk anyway and later it sold like hotcakes. Soon afterward, I couldn't keep up with demand so I had to hire people and create systems and processes to handle the workload. Fast forward to today and my business generates multiple 7 figures a year in revenue. Now I have millions of dollars invested in ETF's and Mutual Funds earning me 7% a year in dividends, I own a small resort in the Philippines, and have cars I never dream of owning. Of course, I didn't anticipate things to be this way, I was just a kid then who was good at arts and craft and loved video games. You never know what is in store for you if you're too afraid to take a chance. The truth of the matter is, there are a lot of uncertainties in life, but one thing is certain is if you never take the risk you will never reap any rewards.

I always like to go with the hard options. That's where there is less competition. So if everyone is recording 1 video per day, I will record 2 or 3. If most people are in dropshipping, I will create my own products. And so on... But you have a good point. Many people are noticing that it's getting hard for them for having no competitive advantage so they give up (which makes it easier for the big marketers)

Hi Sebastián, thank you for this video. Obviously you spoke the truth. After following many successful people doing e-commerce here and there, poeple who make millions a year and sometimes a month, i realized that this old fashion shiny way of doing e-commerce is not sustainable for the long-term. Like you said, building a brand is the real deal, with private labeling and fast shipping, high quality products, customers satisfaction.. You said it all. Also many guru's are doing high tickets now. I appreciate your honesty. I've build a store and I'm ready to launch it but I'm wondering if I'm going to the right way. There is a lot of competition now, even here in France where I'm from, many people are doing dropshipping for e-commerce using Facebook ads, there are so many KZbin channels about dropshipping that it became a trend. And France is a small country and market in comparison of The US. I have one question for you, regarding your experience do you recommend to start my ads using Google shopping PLA or Facebook ads?? My budget is small like 300-400€ and I'm planning to test my products with like 10€/day for 3 days. What do you recommend??

Just invested in a course here in Belgium, because here in our countries the model isn't very known. Feel like little guilty now that I've invested in the course haha. But, I would love to own a fitness clothing brand someday in my life. It's an ambition from me and really a passion. Imagine if I brand my fitness company, so on Instagram, Facebook and announce a launch, that the customers can pre-order their products that I actually have the money and then I have some huge time left for manufacturing the products, is that a possibility? Or will they not buy because I don't have like social proof, customer satisfaction, and not an established brand? Good luck with your company man, sorry for my english btw.

hey man, thanks for the video, yet you say that Shopify stores are failing this year, but then you still teach how to build one! I just bought your course on that subject) I actually took steps on the way of starting my Shopify store!! why are you contributing to a model that you know will fail? I feel like I was mislead ! why didnt you just "not say anything" instead of selling us an out-dated product (your course on shopify) one that you know is a failing model? excuse my boldness man...but thats what I feel after this video consider this, you present a model as a favorable one and you show your results which looked very convincing so people will think they found it and start thinking (and taking steps) to follow this model you taught and sold, then you tell them "naaa, ignore what I sold you, it"s just not working anymore" ,,,, That doesnt look sexy man ....again thank you for your Opinion man, really appreciate it I just have to re-think the whole thing. .cheers

Hi Khaled, I don't think you understood the message of the video. The message of the video is: E-Commerce businesses that sell crap products, and have crap customer experience, will get crap results. If you do dropshipping, POD, or have your own products and you don't sell crap, you actually give a good experience, and you build a brand your audience likes, then you won't fail. Shopify and E-Commerce are not going anywhere.

@SebastianGomezcr
@SebastianGomezcr 6 жыл бұрын
Who said it's useless? You still can make money with dropshipping and building a dropshipping brand. In fact, that's how most people will keep doing it because not everyone have thousands of dollars to buy inventory. Most stores fail with the model because they don't give a crap about their customers. Using dropshipping, or not.

The big topic of the video is about how people that don't build brands will be wiped out. Bro you can create a dropshipping brand and that's totally cool. That's how I started because I had to start from scratch and couldn't afford to create my own products. I still encourage you to build your brand and work on your systems to give a good experience.

While I do agree with your point, people should be focusing on building real business and that should be everyone's goal, I still think dropshipping can make tons of money this year. And even if it ends after this year, it doesn't matter, since you still can make millions in sales, if you do things right. I know Oberlo guys personally (they are from Lithuania, and it's a small country, so everyone is in the same circles) and I saw the numbers of top stores. It's 8 figures last year. And not even low 8 figures... So really, with such potential it doesn't really matter, if it's not a long term business, IMHO...
@SebastianGomezcr
@SebastianGomezcr 6 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree that you can make millions on dollars this year too. But the reality is that most people don't have a competitive advantage with the capital. Most starters think that they can start with a couple hundreds dollars when in reality now with more competition you need a bigger budget to test if you're looking for "winning products". This video doesn't really go into if you can make money or not. Off course you can. I'm just sharing my opinion on what I think it's the most sustainable model. Most people won't follow it because they want to make money fast. But quick money doesn't really give long lasting results.

Sebastian Gomez That is true. If you already have capital, established audiences, etc. it's one thing. Whole other thing starting now with few hundred bucks. Much harder than couple years ago.

It is possible to build a brand with dropshipping. you can't disagree with that if the customer really likes your "drop shipping item" he/ she wouldn't go away cause he/she knows your item is good. There is nothing wrong with the business model. It is the mindset of the person behind the Shopify store. Ofc they're hundreds of thousands of shit store. People will get smarter and expose the ' no effort' Shopify store. You make good points but the dropshipping business model imo here to stay. you just gotta make the store look more professional.

Yeah stores like wish use it successfully. But think about it... even if you’re ordering an iPhone X, would you like to wait a month for it to arrive. Nothing justifies not giving a good experience. Dropshipping works, and if you have good systems you can minimize the negative experience. But it’s never going to be fully stable in my opinion

Great video about brand but DUDE the only reason you were able to build a brand is because you started dropshipping. You can’t expect people to start manufacturing their own products in the US and private labelling them right off the bat.
@SebastianGomezcr
@SebastianGomezcr 5 жыл бұрын
I agree it's not a beginner friendly business model or approach. But it's definitely where it's going and as long as people understand that and are looking forward to that in the near future, all good. I'm making a full video about it because that's what I'm focusing 100% in and what I believe in. People don't like to address the purple elephant in the room. Most dropshippers ignore the fact that their customers are pissed off due to delivery times and quality issues. They just focusing on scaling the crap out of crap. I think marketers have to start embracing that and understanding if they can't make their customers happy, their businesses will fail.

You’re so right it hurts. I just started dropshipping in november. Following a few guys on youtube, one showed us a store we should replicate thats doing 6 figures. However I googled the store and they have a 0.5/10 rating! I asked about this but it seemed everyone ignored it

I won't close the doors to people that still want to learn the dropshipping model. Some people still want to learn it and start learning with that model, which is ok too. Dropshipping CAN be done if people are not lazy and work on their systems. I'm not the judge to decide what people want to learn or not.

Times change...we are now in 2018!!! He's talking about the present. Just as you cant make money off of selling fidget spinners in March, same way dropshipping without focusing on customer satisfaction and quality of products is not sustainable.

You can do dropshipping the same way he speaks of creating his own brand... like he said don't be lazy and work harder put more time and effort into the products you do dropship... make sure the supllier is trusted, check the reviews make sure there are good and enough pictures and a good description about the item.. he teaches you how to do it in the best way possible but it's still up to you how to do it.. just like teaching a guy how to be a cop and give him all this power but then he decides to be a dick and use it without being ethical... stop being lame
