Excellent review, totally agree. Old samplers are real electronic instruments and real synths with their own flavour. Melting different machines in different ways is just about making like a painter palette of sounds. It's not a snobish thing about vintage machines, there are of course amazing things today for example in granular processing, but the melting of the old and the new can be sometimes a game changer in the creativity process. Have fun w/ S612, S2000, ESI4000, S220, Mirage and also little boxes like SU10 and SU200 ;) Nb : great channel

Five! Lol I thought I was bad enough with three - MPC60, S950, EPS16+ 😂... I do still find my self craving more of the EPS16's sound would be really open to adding an ASR10 to the mix!

I have 3 samplers. EMU e6400 ultra(kicks and bass and snare), Akai MPCX for hh, open hh, chopped loops. Renoise , I know it's a vst daw but it's a sampler. I do use the EMU a lot though . Layering rocks on that.

I think I have this mostly covered: akai mpc 2000xl, Ensoniq eps 16+, akai s5000, Roland s-760, e-mu esi-2000, Yamaha a4000. 😎😁

Not sure if my MPC2500 counts as vintage, I guess I'm at 4 if it does (EPS16+, MPC60 and S950 (I guess the Triton might count too I always thought the sampler on it was underrated so 5 then?)) had both the MPC2000 and XL before. I feel like at this point the only samplers I'd add is probably an ASR10 and an maybe an EMAX. I think even the above is overkill for me 😂

I have 5 Vintage and up....But I think i only use 2 in 2025, MPC to sample and program drums, ASR for Loops .
