"If they are seeking the truth, God will get them what they need to be saved." He nailed it. When I was teenager, I was practically a militant atheist, but I always said that my god was truth above all else. Always seeking the truth led me to the undeniable reality that God exists. Even after that realization I could't accept a personal God, and NEVER would I accept the "terribly corrupt" Christian worldview, so I dabbled in pantheism, and ended up practicing Buddhism for a short while. And yet Buddha led me to the contemplation of Jesus. In my meditations I sought to internalize the wisdom of Buddha, and radiate the love of Jesus Christ. I only managed to meditate on that once. As soon as I did, God appeared to me invisible, and spoke to me silently. After that divine encounter, I knew that Jesus is God. I didn't even understand how, or why, or what that even meant, but I was as sure of that truth as I was of my own existence. I humbled myself in searching for truth, no matter the cost, and so God made Himself known to me. Now Christ is fixed in my heart forever. I can still say my God is Truth, but now I know His name, and enjoy His fellowship. My Lord is Jesus Christ, and all is well with my soul, hallelujah! 🙌🏻👑❤

your faith is a personal relationship (walk) with Jesus, that is what you share. there is nothing to defend! This man has little knowledge of the Spirit.
@charlesnorman46768 жыл бұрын
all is from the heart, this is where the Kingdom is. Jesus said first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and He also said that the kingdom is within us. it's our heart God cares about and thus changing to be like Him as was intended.our nature needs to mirror Gods. when we walk with Jesus He helps us remove the plank so we can help our neighbor. so our focus should be on our walk and not defending our faith. be a beacon an example for the world, not of it. Jesus calls for shepherds, they lead. your heart first, how you defend your faith is how you live and walk with God for all to see the difference in man vs God. then God's light shines and people come seeking after Him, not our faith, Him, through Jesus changing our nature to be LIKE God.
@hollywinberg138 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate your perspective, however I would have to disagree with your ultimate conclusion. I understand that our walk is a reflection of our Lord and that we should be responsible witnesses by living out our beliefs. That theme is completely harmonious with scriptures! But although the Holy Spirit indwells us, we need to be careful not to follow our heart for "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9- ESV). Likewise, Mark 7:21 also affirms the idea that from the hearts of men only corruption is produced. That's why you would be correct in saying that when we accept and believe in Jesus he works within our lives to produce righteousness. Naturally, our hearts are wicked- that is why we trust God's leading over our own whims. So I would have to conclude that instead of following our "deceitful" heart we need to follow Christ's example. I'm not saying that you aren't trying to follow Christ, I am only distinguishing the separation between following your heart and following Jesus, for the two things are mutually exclusive. You paraphrased Matthew 7:1-5, that was actually the reason I decided to reply (since I have only commented on youtube one other time and prefer not to) because those were my memory verses last week! Anywho! That passage teaches us that we are to remove the log out of our own eye before we help remove the speck from someone else's eye. I don't think Dr. Frank is in conflict with that verse here, to be in conflict with that passage one would have to be a hypocrite about whatever they are trying to help someone else with. For instance, if someone was a pathological liar chastising you for lying they would be in violation of the verses because, although they may be right in telling you to tell the truth, if they neglected to examine their own failure to meet the standard they would be a hypocrite. To say that Dr. Frank is in conflict with the passage you must also provide some support for that assertion (IE: to give a defense for why you believe the way you do). I can't get more specific because you didn't cite a particular issue. I think though, that your main point is that one should not make a defense for Christ but rather just live out Christianity. I've met those that misunderstand the idea of apologetics, (Frank does apologetics as his career- so he is an apologist) they ask "Does God need defending?" No, of course not! God isn't so weak that he needs to hide behind his followers! But for some people that's the picture that this issue paints. For just that reason, I understand how some might believe that apologetics is anti-biblical. However, those that believe that we should simply "live out the gospel" in order for people to be won for Christ falls victim to the same logic. Will God's plan of salvation crumble if none of his people do good works (or live in a christ-like manner)? If that were so, then God is helped or hindered by man. If we can at all contribute then Gods power then that means he has a teeny tiny bit of reliance on us. But we know that that is false, we know that God is all powerful, and we know that it is not by our works or contribution that souls are won for Christ. So why do we try and live like Christ? Because A.) it is better for us and B.) that's the method God wants to use. But He doesn't use it in a vacuum. You are 100% right that our life is a witness for God, because God tells us that's how he wants it to be. Likewise, what Frank is doing by "giving a defense" is 100% right to do, inasmuch as he is aligned with truth. Why? Because the Bible supports it. It is written in 1 Peter 3:15 that we are to "...sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence". Check out this quick link for several other bible verses that directly support defending the faith, using reasoning & dialogue, and your mind to be a light unto the world: bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Apologetics I think the important thing is that we don't get too caught up in worshiping God in only one way. We shouldn't neglect our conduct or character in favor of a fast tongue or apt comeback. We must be gentle, loving, and patient in the appropriate time & we must also be seasoned, ready, and swift in the appropriate time. And those things must balance one another out. In fact, many of those traits are ironically compatible. Exercising your mind, to reason and dialogue with others earnestly is a form of worship. God designed our minds so that we would use it, and it pleases him most when we use it to His glory. We should also remember to be loving when we are debating with others, respect them as individuals created in God's image with intrinsic value, whether or not they give you the same benefit. God doesn't tell us that we ought not to philosophize, he warns us against "vain philosophies". So, it's true, we need be careful of getting caught up in pointless conversations or into debates that are frivolous, but that doesn't mean we should just serve God in one way and never another. Anywho, sorry for the long reply I just was really interested in this what you had to say & thought it deserved a more thorough reply since there is so much to say on this topic! I know I couldn't elaborate on everything, but I assumed you'd be acquainted with some of the basic christian stuff I covered more briefly. Ps: I am not at all shaming you for your view, or at all trying to do this out of an air of superiority. I love hearing opposing views from others because I believe that the truth can withstand challenges and inspection. If what I believe doesn't align with the truth then I should abandon the view and side with the truth. But if what I believe is the truth & it withstands inspection then I can be better versed in it myself. It's like knowing yourself better when you withstand trials. Please give me the benefit of the doubt if any of my words come across as offensive, I tried to be cautious, it certainly would not be my intention to sound haughty or critical of you as a person.

Not only multiple religions but Christianity also has different denominations that other denominations dislike or think they are the work of the devil. I was raised Roman Catholic and there are some Christians from other denominations who think that Roman Catholics are worshiping the devil. Even when we believe in the same God one denomination proclaims that the other is worshiping the devil. People may think that following God through his scripture and not through a religious denomination would probably be the best thing to do but there are many versions of the Bible so which is the real one? When we pass to the next life will other denominations of Christianity make it to the after life or will God judge them for not following the right denomination? And what if you didn't had a denomination will the Bible you choose to follow him be the one he likes? And if any of you are thinking about the idea of following God with your heart then what was the point of the Bible or the religious denominations to begin with. If following God was as simple as following your heart to reach him we would have all come with the same conclusion but thats not the case. There are many cases that have to be considered to prove that the God you are following is the real one. You can't just discredit other religions like Buddhism because they don't follow your ideas. We are all in a building thats on fire, people are trying to escape and run, but then the firefighter comes in. The firefighter is yelling and shouting to follow him, some people follow him and some people stay, trying to figure it out on their own, because they think they know what their doing. The people who followed the firefighter escaped, but the people who stayed were trapped still. God is telling us how to get out of the building, if you listen, you can escape. 1. Never read a Bible verse! The Bible is not a collection of sayings that are independent of their context. It is a collection of letters, long discourses, arguments (in the good sense) and various historical chronicles, poems and wisdom sayings. For example the 1 Corinthians 14:33 quote is not a stand-alone saying, but part of an explanation of why prophets need to speak in order, not as a rabble. The chapter-verse divisions are merely for the convenience of reference, like mileposts, street addresses, longitude and latitude, Bates numbering and paragraph or line numbering in legal documents. . 2. As Paul the Apostle teaches in his letter to the church at Rome, in chapter 1 as we reference it, there are only two religions: worship of God the creator (who is external to and independent of the creation, and eternally self-existing), or worship of the creation in some way, shape or form. All the 'other' religions have the creation as their focus and not the creator. For this reason they are all equally pointless wastes of time. . Christians seek to be accepting of others because we are all equally made in God's image to worship and enjoy him. We want others to have the deep joy that we have in knowing our Creator and being in fellowship with him. We don't want people to continue in alienation from him. . While Frank is right as far as he goes, as regards Yeshua's sacrifice (death on the cross), he doesn't go far enough and turns Christianity into a morality club. Sure, our sin is wrong, but it is wrong because it separates us from God, from his life, and brings us to death. Christ on the cross defeated death - as his resurrection showed - and offers to bring us into his world of new life (thus 'born again') and have eternal life with him. . It's not about 'having our moral failings forgiven', although that is a result; it is about being made new and being in the family of God. We do that simply by rejecting the religion of ME, which is the pervasive religion of the dead and seeking his gift of new life.

But there are things that God does which go beyond human understanding. Things that we are not intended to know and will never know until we meet Him in heaven. Couple with that the fact that there is an adversary whose sole purpose is to make sure no body finds God, and now you have multiple religions preaching something different causing confusion. But when you see the truth in all of those other religions, they preach a doctrine of self-gratification and self-glorification. Christianity is the only faith in which their victory resides in the death of their Savior. That alone doesn't seem to make sense, but oddly when you study the scriptures you begin to understand why it does. Intellectually the basics of Christianity are not hard to understand. People preach the Gospel, the "good news" that there is a Savior, but God determines who will believe, for He knows everyones heart. For those God foreknows as His, He gives them His Holy Spirit, which brings them to life spiritually. (Ephesians 1:3-14) (John 3:3-8) People may not come to Christ until much later after hearing the Gospel, but like a seed planted, if God wills, it will sprout and mature into a plant. If this sounds like "Calvinism" it is, because with that view of things, God is sovereign to "choose" whomever He pleases. There is a practical aspect of this on earth, the Gospel must be preached, (Romans 1:16) that is like casting seeds, but it is God who brings the seed to life. (1 Corinthians 3:6-9) We do not determine salvation, God does, we are to just preach the gospel, as our part in peoples salvation. God gets the glory, He alone is the one who "saves". So bless His name and do your part, if you consider yourself to be one of Christs.

I care enough about truth that I’m willing to question if God is real. if he was pressed on this matter he’d go right to Pascal which is the opposite claim. I want to believe in what’s true so I’m begging all christians to be consistent. make an effort. I know that’s scary, because you unconsciously know that that will lead to doubting, but maybe that’s a sign that it’s not true. If you do care about truth then you can’t assume that you’re right while looking for it. that’s called a conformation bias. I want to believe it’s true if it is, but the one factor that makes it hard to pick is the fear of hell. Why does God use fear of infinite torture to get me to believe in him? why is non belief in someone that won’t show himself punishable not by death, but with eternal fire? Why are people morally better in God’s eyes when they stop thinking and just blindly follow him? He favors incompetence? It’s a gift from God and a choice, but we have to have the right kind of heart? Maybe we have to be born into the right family? Sorry for rambling, but these are questions that a lot of people have and they’re left unanswered because Christians (and I have done this so I speak from experience) dodge the question and just share the gospel.

If there was no forbidden fruit, there would be no choice to make, so there is no freedom to choose. Everything He created was GOOD, not perfect. Only He is perfect. @jeanmichel83684 жыл бұрын
I'm Christian, but I consider the question to be a valuable one to reflect upon. The crux of the question is really to do with where the source and *authorship* of confusion ultimately derives from. The Christian perspective points to satan, the errors of man and the misuse of freewill to consciously go against God's will. The atheist perspective doesn't find this answer satisfactory, because if God is omnipotent then that means he allows the conditions for confusion to exist, meaning that Satan and man are merely surrogates in the act of confusion. The atheist perspective focuses on *conditionality,* and the questioning of why God even allows sin, evil and confusion to arise at all.

To me it was simple. I was seeking truth in prayer, and God answered my prayer with scripture in a dream/vision and revealed to me Yeshua. I think that it is easy looking at all the creation to acknowledge that there is a Creator and the second part is to ask sincerely what is His name, and if you truly seek truth with all your heart , God is going to reveal Himself to you, it is that simple. But what the biggest mistake people do is trying to find what “god” or religion fits their point of view instead of seeking only for the truth. That’s why there is confusion. You have to want the Truth more than anything in your life, and truth is hard, hard on your flesh! If you will try to move truth around to fit your flesh - that’s when you are in danger to be confused. I might not like the idea of hell, but i wanted truth so much i was willing to accept the good and the scary.

Now the qustion is, how do we know what God is the right God ? this is not hard to fig out, The true God has proven himself, how? 1,) God new what has taken us years to confirm....space is a void. 2,)he discribed the shifting of the earth plates, that pushed the land up above the water. 3,)he gave 10 of the best moral laws recognized by the world. 4,)he new that beans have toxins in them and told Ezekiel to soak them and let them spout before makeing a survival bread...... 5,)he has made many predictions that have come to pass. God told us, we will know he is God : because the things he says will come to pass. 6,) he told us about the air/the breath of life and that life is in the blood...thats discribeing the functions of blood working with oxygen. ding ding ding... not to shabby for a bunch of cave men with stone tablets. 7,) Ppl are egotistical and this is a proven fact, so why would a man create a God, then do many great things just to give all the glory and power over to the fake God ? Wouldn't a man who is willing to lie and trick ppl, also seek the glory for himself? It's a lot of work to invent a God, do great things , and then give all the credit and glory to the fake god with no pay off for yourself (by the way, most of the prophets did not have a good life at first or at all ) ......seems strange that a socioalpath looking to controll ppl would give the power away to something or someone else.🤔🤔🤔 Egyptians always gave credit to them selfs while calling them selfs God's , the prophet's gave credit to God alone, and not to themselves......big difference in egos. the prophet's did not seek power or control, but they seeked the ways of God that have been lost to us when we left the program of God.... this is why ppl are the oddballs on this earth....... a mother dog knows what to do when she is birthing puppys, because she is still on God's program......we are lost sheep who strayed from the program of God and have created a government to be the new program and law/god....the blind leading the blind.

Space os a void. Well, some of it is. Not anything new 2. Where is this one? 3. The laws that are of any use are nothing new either. We knew long before that killing, stealing, lying are immoral. Long, long before. The bible gave us nothing new, except probably the first 3 that aren't of any practical use in our society 4. Not remarkable. I've tried seeking the truth..After 40 yrs in the church, I started trying to prove it was true. What a devastating journey...You can't study the Bible and what the questions and problems with it are and walk away the same person. I prayed and BEGGED God saying Please I need to teach my children if this is real to save them, my wife too has followed my lead of evidence away. But there's been nothing..and thats what the reality is..if God picks and chooses who he reveals himself to save how can this be moral?

There were other religions before Christianity so how is Christianity the real one she asked. Well first of all everything was made through Christ. Christ existed before even the earth was made. 2nd when Adam and Eve were the only ones alive God made a promise that a child would be born and that Child was Jesus. Whatever happens in between happened for various reasons, people followed all sorts of things but how is that Gods fault? The Jews were suppose to be the chose people through where the world was suppose to come to know God but they didnt do a good job at it. Instead they did the opposite and murdered Jesus. God does his part to let you know who he is and how to follow him but most dont care and want to follow what they want or create their won belief system. Satan plays a big role in creating religions.

I’m just going by the title but I had that exact same question. And if one of them is right, which one?! Then the Lord saved me when I came to him in a broken and contrite spirit, in faith in Jesus Christ, asking for mercy and salvation. And he did. He saved me. Then he showed me. God is not the author of confusion. The devil is though. And people tend to focus on this verse or that verse and then create a whole religion around it instead of considering the word as a whole and being led by the Holy Spirit, rather then self, or their church’s belief system (whether its biblical or not).

Why are there multiple grade levels, multiple subjects, and multiple classrooms in school? Is that confusing at all? Why are there multiple doctors, multiple hospitals, and multiple medications? Why not just one? It's because students have different intelligence levels, so the state meets each student at his own particular level. It's because patients have their own particular illnesses, so the hospitals meet each patient at his own particular level, to suit his individual needs. By setting up different religions with different temples and different churches, God does the same with all human beings -- he meets us at our own particular levels of advancement.

It's an interesting answer, but I would like to ask a further question - each and every religion that believes in a God states something similar, that it is the true religion, that there is a force akin to the Devil that poisons the minds of men, and that the believers of that religion should take its words to others so that they may believe in the same God and 'be saved'. To me, at least, it looks like the same arguments could be offered in defense of any other religious beliefs; I say this as a religious believer, to put some context to these words. So what is it that is important, belief that there is *a* God, or belief that there is *the* God of Christianity alone?
@followerofchrist98004 жыл бұрын
The only religions I can think of that believe in *A* God, are Christianity and Islam. Yeah, the same arguments can be made for Islam but the problem comes with everything else about it. From their main prophet, what they think heaven will be like, and what the Quran says.

I think Frank makes a good point to the always inevitable question(what about those who have never heard)...If you are truly seeking Him, He will reach out. Doesn't matter where or when you were born. But also remember this, God can see what happens and what would happen, so even though we may evangelize to a person who will never accept it, God is under no compulsion to reveal Himself to someone He knows will reject Him. That's why it's good to ask "Are you asking me these questions because you want answers or so you can feel better about your own beliefs". The question goes both ways and Christians should ask that of themselves.
@mattm77987 жыл бұрын
To answer your question no, it doesn't matter where/when you are born. The bible is very clear God knows those who would respond to him and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Further, we are judged on the knowledge we have. The fact that there are multiple denominations says nothing about the reliability or lack thereof of the Bible. It's a straw man argument. I don't not believe in Islam because of different sects. That's like not believing in gov't because there are dozens of political parties

Nowhere does the bible say that it will judge on whether you would have believed or not. You simply have to have actually believed. Imagine that I, while crossing a street at a crosswalk, saw out of the corner of my eye that a car was out of control and that it was rapidly approaching me. Here my mind may say, "I believe that if I dive forward right now, I will be out of the way of the car just in time, and thus I will not be injured or killed". However, if I stuck to that "belief", rather than move away from the belief by moving on over to the truth of which it spoke of, people would think of me as being an insane person, all due to me thinking that the "belief" alone was enough to prevent me from being injured. But in the world of religion, it is considered sane to stick to a religious belief. Thus in turn there are many religions that people stick to. Neither of these people of different religions are interested in moving on over to the truth.
@new-knowledge80408 жыл бұрын
By the way, since these people stick to being located at a distance from truth, you can not speak to them directly in the hear and now concerning the big truth, because they only accept truth as best as it can be seen from a distance. Thus you have no choice but to speak to them indirectly. This is done by speaking to them via the use of parables.
