You’re only showing one form of athletes. Basketball players build most of the time are tall and lanky. There are exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking most of them don’t have a lot of mass to them in general. Also being explosive does not always correlate with out right strength. You can be extremely explosive but not be as strong as someone the same size as you. Overall I think this logic is a little flawed.

Muscle Μass doesn't necessarily make you slower. It's a compilation of genetics, tendon health and myofibrillar to sarcoplasmic mass ratio. @raindoset5408 Жыл бұрын
True,there are muscle strength training and muscle hypertrophy training. If you want strength you do strength training if you wanna look good you do hypertrophy training. @lucasmellnick2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonphan2001 I won't disagree with that, but a large amount of football players were sprinters in the past throughout highschool and/or college. Maybe at the highest level they wouldn't beat them, but some would definitely be close if we are choosing outliers. There's definitely a certain body type thats appropriate for certain activities and absolutely in athletics the car analogy works well. However, when it comes to just pure athletics, if you take a football or rugby player, and take the time to teach them the game of basketball, or you take a basketball player and teach them the basics of football, then you will notice that the difference is actually skill and not size. There will be certain advantages in terms of size like being thinner in basketball to be able to split a defender and drive the net or bigger in rugby and football to be able to absorb a hit or run through someone, but simply saying muscle makes someone less athletic is untrue in the highest degree. Andre DeGrasse doesn't need to be hit, so hes just gotta be thin and powerful so he can excel at his sport like you said, but if he was also given the time to learn the basics of a sport, he could play pretty much anything based on pure athletics alone, and that's the same for pretty much anyone at the highest level of their respective sport.

Now athletic sports has moved into efficiency based training and game plans to ensure statistically that a tea can win, thats why Jokic has won 2 mvps in a row, and muscular development isn't valued as much as fitness and stamina (byproducts of a leaner athlete like kevin durant) because muscular growth and training doesn't result in the same statistical results as fundamentals and aerobic performance (fitness).

Genetic freak. Even then his strength to mass ratio is good. If the muscle helps the ratio then it’s good

Brother if you put Lebron James next to a bodybuilder or wrestler he will look lean but small. Look at a guy like Karl Malone he is 100% bigger than bron at the same height. But take a look at the footage of Karl in the WWE against other wrestlers he looked tiny, let alone Lebron James

Depends on ur sport and whats optimal for your goals. Muscle can be really good, and some muscle mass is good for all athletes and for overall strength and health. Not all need to be bodybuilders. Ps I train explosiveness and power and also found hypertrophy work included to give even greater gains in that area as a strength and explosive athlete. Muscle is not bad - but the overall size will depend on ur sport and specific training and whats optimal for you.

Luckily I’ve been able to maintain the best of both worlds. Skateboarded most of my life and started lifting at 29. 3 years later I’ve put 25 lbs of lean mass on but still kept my vertical and sprint explosiveness. You just need to be aware and do maintenance stretch routines to keep your flexibility. “Hard to kill” is the motto.

Being big does NOT mean you cannot move well. In fact, if you train for strength, mass, and athleticism all together, I guarantee you can get all 3.

Can you analyze the wrestling physique
@youngkobe66452 жыл бұрын
Well their strength also influences their game as you see 6”10 kid shooting more then dunking while he’s more lean but 6”9 Lebron dunking more then shooting because he weighs more and can dominate more in that area. That is why when Shaq was in his prime he put a lot of muscle on his arms because his whole game was revolved around the inside and bodying his opponents

Thanks for only showing a sport where muscle mass isn’t advantageous and ignoring sports where it is needed.

Putting on mass while increasing strength to mads ratio can be very good cuz unincrease total force output and lb for lb strength. I gained a lot of strength with calosthenics and I also include weight training and now I learn olympic lifts. So I’m different than a marathoner or basketballnplayer that doesnt make me less athletic because I have more mass. Cuz I also train athletic movement.

I mostly agree, but there are some exceptions like Zion in basketball or Tyson Fury in boxing..dude is huge but moving like a middleweight guy..
@thomasih4627 Жыл бұрын
i mean it depends on the sport, like in this example basketball is one type of sport where you dont need that much muscle, along with soccer, sports that are primarliy focused on running, speed and agility typically have skinnier athletes(just look at professional runners) but sports like football, boxing and swimming based sports, most of those athletes are big and muscly

Depending what sport your playing in. Yes i agree you don't want to be too bulky it also depends on what sport you play and the postion you play or as a fighter whats your greatest strength grappling or striking.
