Bought a xootr today because of your video. I plan on taking it with me to Bangkok and I’m living in Tokyo now so it is going to be extremely useful and fun.

Wow! Congratulations! Install an Ergon grip set and be careful speeding because this thing literally flies, which is not always what we want.

I’ve been commuting with my xootr MG, even in the rain, for nearly 10 years. 15 miles every day, I use it on weekends for fun. It fits in the overhead bin when I fly. It’s faster than a very fit runner/jogger 🎉

They are built for different purposes so they can't be compared! And instead of a T-line I have made my 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton as light as a T-line (below 9 kilo), both with mudguards, by adding lighter titanium and carbon parts from China and Taiwan, and for a much less price!!! And with all the problems that a T-line has, I wouldn't dream of buying one. Finn. Denmark

@@SmallWheelWonder A T-line with added mudguards come close to 9 kilo also. And if changing my original Stempost to Titanium, I could save a little extra, for a cost. They are to be bought in versions from China. But I would need a Flame Painted version, as my bike, to still look like a fully original, black version😄. Only if you lift mine, you are able to feel how light it actually is. Finn

I have explored kickscooter options and settled on a Urban Glide Commuter Scooter, as it has pneumatic tires and a caliper handbrake. Unfortunately, it does not fold. I would love an option that has these 3 features, but have not found such an offering. Thank you for your videos--I find them very informative and entertaining. I wish more ppl held an open mind about these alternative modes of transportation instead of cars, cars, cars

I love my $free$ JD razor kick scooter it has front anti-dive forward linkage suspension, same style fold plus folding handle bars on top of that, all in the early 2000's, it even came OEM with strap mounts to wear indoors, ~5 pounds :)

I have a kick scooter as well as an electric scooter. Neither of them can be compared to any bicycle. A bicycle can go fast, climb, go long distances, carry stuff. Even a $300 one.

I don't really get why different modes of transportation are being compared to say its better. Its like saying a truck is better than my hatchback. They are both automobiles, but designed for different things in mind. I wouldn't spend 6k on a bike, but this is weird. If you did a video highlighting the pros and cons it might make more sense.

All I said was that a truck is better for moving furniture than a hatchback so if you are a mover yet bought the latter, you have only yourself to blame.

I love this video so much. I have been riding my Oxelo Town 9 (old model) for 15 years now. I love it. It's perfect for the subway and short commutes. Great for bringing into the grocery store, restaurants, the bank, and for other errands. The Xootr wheels have no competition. They are the best, fastest wheel on any commuter scooter. My Oxelo, however, is better than Xootr in every other way. The new Town 9 has full suspension, which adds weight and isn't necessary. The Town 7 is better. I've ridden my scooter for up to 8 miles a trip and, honestly, that's way too far for a scooter. A Brompton is much better for longer commutes. On the subway, I fold up the scooter and slide it under the bench. When it's crowded, I fold it up and put it in between my legs and sit on the wheel while holding onto the handlebars. Takes up no room. For me, the weakest point on the Xootr is the narrow t-bar and the foam grips. The foam grips are easily replaceable but is there an option to get a wider t-bar for the Xootr?
@SmallWheelWonder
@SmallWheelWonder 2 ай бұрын
My concerns exactly. I have an Ergon grip and plan on ordering a custom made T bar with extra width and length.
@davidhunternyc1
@davidhunternyc1 2 ай бұрын
@@SmallWheelWonder Please, let me know how the wider T-bar works out for you. I'd order a Xootr in a heartbeat if the handlebars were wider. If you don't mind sharing, I'd order the same T-bar you're making. The handlebars on my Oxelo are perfect, keeping the scooter stable at high speeds on a downhill. I fly on it.

Building own scooter and my own folding bike because the geometry is all wrong,, only the g line starts to address it , front centre too long Both my projects are based on manual power, but the folder has a base built upon a 350w rear motor, we are all motivated to create from others, which can only be a good thing

@@SmallWheelWonder yeah dude, I'm UK so aware of f Swifty and Brompton both very nice, both high end But as an engineer I can see they will quickly be superseded by cheaper imports, only brand badge adds value We don't have the freedom here in UK as electric scooters are illegal

My brompton is the only bike I have room for in my current living situation, and it still does all the things I'd have the time and means to enjoy on a regular bike - faster commuting, rides with friends on relaxed trails, city exploration, and consistently great, relatively low impact exercise that's great for my heart. (Carrying it everywhere has been making my small arms noticeably stronger too) It's easier on my body than running on pavement. I'm not gentle with the bike either, it goes all over the shoddiest roads and pavements and field grounds full of rocks. A scooter, I'm just standing on and coasting along. I'm not pushing myself. Nor would I desire to take it on the same journeys I would a bicycle (my brompton). If your use case is strictly going A to B on perfect pavement and taking up as little space as possible, yeah I'd agree with you. But a bicycle has so many other benefits that make the brompton a far better choice for me, my health, and my spirit.

Well I can take my Brompton on a train, but electric scooters are not allowed to travel. Private e-scooters aren't allowed on public roads in the UK. I'm happy with my new Brompton as it can legally transport me!

We are a bit behind the times in the UK unfortunately. Been cycling since the age of six, now in my fifties. Commuting on our local cycle infrastructure has destroyed my enjoyment of cycling. I bought an overpriced T-Line for myself. Cost more than my second hand car! Will be the last bike I'll ever buy in my lifetime. I own a Dawes Horizon (19 years old, £649.00) and Focus Highland Peak MTB (17 years old, £220.00). Spending a four figure sum on a bike felt crazy. Also want to buy something made in England, before Bromptons get built abroad like everything else.🙂👍👍 Do enjoy your channel. 👍👍🙂

@@tonytheantony We are all honored to read your public confession, but I still have one question. Once you saved up enough money to buy your dream bike, why did you opt for a T Line over a Moulton, Birdy, Hummingbird or something else? Was it the conviction that Brompton can't go wrong -- trust the label?
@tonytheantony
@tonytheantony 2 ай бұрын
Don't like the look of Moulton bikes. Very hard to find a dealer. Hummingbird..not practical. Wouldn't want to ride that on snow and ice, nor throw it around, so not practical. Gut has always wanted a Brompton as I prefer the design and practicality. Needed a bike that I could buy "off the shelf" with plenty of easy places to buy parts quickly. A Brompton looks like a Brompton, so not going to attract attention to others. Been there already, not a pleasant experience. Yep, expensive for what it is. I don't need the complications of hydraulic brakes, front suspension. Nor do I have the space to repair, or maintain components that contain fluid. A little lube on the carpet can be cleaned! 🙂 I don't want to spend time "modifying" or on maintaining. Not my thing with bikes now...done that with the original Mini back in the day. Enjoyed it, but spent soooo much time and money upgrading. So Brompton was a bit like me going to a fancy restaurant, buying an expensive meal and bottle of wine with an escort by my side!🤣 Could have done all that at the local supermarket and pub for a third of the price! Summing up my T-Line 12-speed purchase: Damn expensive, yep running gear could have been "modernised and future proofed," but I got myself a Brompton. I like the design engineering that's gone into it.I now own a bike with a carbon fork built a few miles from where I live. 🙂👍👍
