It’s the pilot that skewed the results and not the ship itself. This is what happened to Anakin’s pod racer, since he won the race Quigon was able to sell it at a premium because it belonged to the recent winner and people were willing to buy it but there is no guarantee the new owner will be as skillful to win the race too just because the previous owner and user did.

That is so much Batha Poodoo. An N-1 wold have to be INSIDE the ship to even be able to damage a Lucrehulk, and with so many droid ships and turrets around, how could a normal pilot even get CLOSE to it, any attempt would be a pure suicide run. No, I am sure the official report of a trade federation maintenance failure disabling the control towers deflector screens, thus allowing a systematic assault on them by fighters, and a planned demolition of the reactor systems after the battle done by Naboo security forces is much more accurate and realistic.

I've been calling the N1 a Rolls-Royce fighter for some time now, and that comparison is more accurate than you might think. After all, Rolls-Royce has historically been involved in producing military components (one of their most famous being their Merlin engine of WW2) along with their luxury vehicles, and they are still producing engines for military vessels today - for aircraft, ships, and even subs. Sadly, as far as I have been able to tell, they never built an entire aircraft of their own, so the comparison cannot be entirely accurate, but it is still arguably the closest.

Fun fact According to aerodynamic test, the N-1 has the most aerodynamic design of any fighter in star wars. Also it's also a very well designed fighter too if you think about it. With its laser cannons close to it and its low and thin profile making it harder to hit.

@@GGBlaster True. I just looked it up and it has a drag coefficient of .1 out of a number between 1 and 0. For comparison the standard TIE has .98. Nearly a cube. However for a real world comparison, the F-4 Phantom has a DC of .02. And that was considered a flying brick.

It would have made an ideal Jedi Knight ship in the pre Clone Wars era. They could afford the expense, and it's refinement and environmentally considerate design would fit in with their philosophy. It would just need a paint job to Jedi colour schemes, such as Judicial Forces red. But as far as capabilities it ticked all the boxes..... and it didn't leave a vulnerable hyperspace ring unattended in orbit. It even allowed a full sized astromech to be carried.

The biggest weakness for the Nabo Starfighter was, It was custom made in not suitable for mass production. I'm quite sure about Palpatine used as influence to make sure a version suitable for mass production was not available for the Clone Wars

In the original Rogue Squadron, the Naboo starfighter is a secret unlockable ship. It's a little fragile and piloting it takes some getting used to. But once you've got it down it's a fun little ship. Relevant to this video? Meh. It just adds that extra layer of appreciation.

Love the N1s, they are one of my favorite starfighters from the prequal movies. I wish we these amazing craft featured more in video games so we could fly these beautiful vehicles. We got SWB2 from 2017 on only one map in just one mode, Lego Star Wars, and Battle for Naboo(this one allows us to use multiple different N1 variants like the bomber and police cruiser) to list some of the few examples where we could. Such an underappreciated craft, but beloved by us fans.

If Naboo invested more into their military, they could probably take on a role similiar to Eriadu's. Naboo has plasma deposits, and if they exploit them properly, they can gather enough resources to become a local military powerhouse. Their designs are great, they only lack in numbers.

I once did some rpg stuff where I had a trading company with several lucrehulk.. for security we had a very small contingent of 4 to 6 mandalorians and several of these fighters per ship... reduced piracy losses no end.. not to mention allowed us to get away with all kinds of dodgy stuff.. In the original rogue squadron for n64 there was a combination of cheat codes you could enter and it unlocked the n-1 naboo statfighter. As a kid it was the only ship I flew in that game once i figured it out, unless of course i had to use a y-wing.

I love the N1 so much. I actually do like the N1T and the bomber versions. I was excited to hear that the N1 would make a return in the mandalorian series, but thoroughly disappointed when they butchered it into...whatever that kitbashed monstrosity is. The whole appeal of the N1 is how sleek and clean it is, making it truly unique among star wars ships; removing that removes the appeal of its design. It's a ship that speaks of being designed by intelligent minds from a civilized high-culture, whereas most other star wars ship designs speak of rugged "bang-for-buck" industrialism or oppressive militaristic might. Shape language is important in fiction: far more than practically I'd argue, unless the genre is hard scifi.

Good firepower vs peers, not so much vs capital ships. It is silly to me Naboo wouldn't have a bomber as part of the palace security forces, if only to dissuade capital ships from threatening their trade lanes. The N-1 was no match for even a corvette thanks to lack of penetrating weapons and heavy missiles.

Honestly i really like the n-1 bomber it kinda gives lancaster vibes with the engine placment but i think they should have lengthend the body and the cockpit making it have two seats similar to a real world f-14 tomcat instead of it basically being a regular n-1 with 2 more engines strapped on.

Unpopular opinion: I think that Mando's new ship is actually a Naboo Police Cruiser based on the third engine behind the cockpit. It could just be an N1 variant that sought to get that third engine from the Cruiser, but I like to think it's the cruiser design. There weren't too many differences in shape between the two from the Battle for Naboo game other than a sharper nose profile and weaker weaponry, besides the paint color and engine

They didn’t, originally. The Amazons were more technologically advanced than Man’s World in the earliest comics, but those WWII stories were still published about 10 years before commercial jet airplanes. Her original “silent, transparent plane” had a propeller on the nose. It wasn’t until much later that it got a cloaking device and became a jet.

For a single planet to produce anything unique and not just buy off established manufacture is unique and admirable within the lore and itself imho.
