Honestly I'm split on this. On one hand, I agree with Naruto. My first instinct is to do what I perceive as just. On the other, that can lead to naive thinking. There are times when you have to flip the script. I lean more with Naruto on this on simply because I don't believe the manipulation was necessary in this situation.

I have to say the fact Naruto could notice something out of wack with Shikamaru that even he wasn't tipped off is very impressive. I think Shikamaru's going to continue to operate as he has been but try to be more subtle. But Naruto actually having the patience to observe him shows maturity on his part, but also that he isn't as blind as to what goes under him as we may have thought. And his counter point is a fair one, if Shikamaru's plan gone south is one thing, but if it got traced back that he or anyone else knew? It would have kneecapped the entire village in terms of funding.

I love this side of Naruto that got showed. He knew something was wrong, took the time to read the situation, and then warned him afterwards that he's better making strategies now. Naruto is naïve and doesn't have as much experience as the other kages in political matters, but he's catching up fast. This was VERY impressive

For instance, he let Kawaki stay in the village when he knew that the village can be destroyed for it, not because it was a good idea, but because he had an emotional connection with Kawaki. That decision cost Konaha the Rennigan and Kurama, and he needed to be rescued afterwards. Naruto made a choice that could’ve ended in the destruction of Konaha, whereas Shikamaru’s decision only threatened the funding…and Naruto still had plausible deniability.

@@NarutoExplained Yeah in a way. I think Naruto has gained a lot of maturity. His run isn't perfect as Hokage and I think political intrigue is still his weakest area, but it's a double edge sword for someone who wants to believe the best out of everyone. Shikamaru took it upon himself to be the guy to work in those dark parts so Naruto doesn't have to be the one that does so, given how much of an Icon Naruto is even in universe so seeing them butt heads yet still be able to talk it out and walk it off shows a that their light and dark dynamic is a nigh-ideal version of what Hiruzen and Danzo had.

I'd agree with him in this case, mainly because Shikamaru was using blackmail and manipulation, viewing human lives as statistics. You can be smart, strategic, AND humane at the same time and Shikarmaru didn't hold it in well. It's not good for him either, if he thinks like that, someone who knows what he prioritizes can manipulate him to do whatever they want, which is exactly what Amado did to get into the village. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind, or something like that

Both characters have always been dope. But i agree with Naruto. Not because of the fact of morals. But, because he was completely right about the risk vs reward ratio. Its a risk for a tiny bit more control over the feudal lord but potentially cause a small scale war on their own borders and split the current leaf system into chaos. The risk vs Reward ratio is off, and sometimes the most intelligent person cant see super obvious things sometimes because their ego and confidence can block simple truths. They only see the reward and they couldnt imagine fucking up and thats a dangerous mindset to be in, Naruto is right to be cautious. The road to hell is paved with good intentions afterall.

I think a natural counter to code’s ability is a huge amount of shadow clones cause no matter where code pops up from, he will definitely be spotted by some of the clones and a counter attack can quickly be made which is why I think naruto is perfect for fighting code. Even if code places a claw mark on naruto, naruto’s clones should easily be able to drag code out of the claw mark if codes attacks appear from the claw mark just like how boruto and his clones were able to drag code out of a claw mark

After the fight vs Naruto and Sasuke, Fused Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke and ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further and still lost 1v1 to KID Boruto while Naruto and Sasuke were pinned down by chakra rods. 3. Base Boruto using a shadow clone was capable of blitzing Fused Momoshiki and punching him in the stomach, activated his jougan and countered Momoshiki's taijutsu which created an opening for another vanishing rasengan hit to his ribcage all before the real Boruto came out of the sky with his giant vanishing rasengan(that was mixed with both Boruto and Naruto's chakra) to defeat Fused Momoshiki. But the *FACT* remain that KID Boruto did indeed fight *FUSED* Momoshiki 1v1 and held his own and won proving he's already Otsutsuki tier, it's not debatable.

That describes Boruto more so than Naruto atleast Part One Naruto. But I'd rather elaborate that despite being the village idiot at the time, he had a very creative and unorthodox way of doing things that could be perceived as dumb or risky, but clever once understood why he did what he did.
