@cr4flnn Agree I’m not an expert and I wouldn’t. Give advice on exercises like this but for me it’s been all benefit and no negative. I keep it fairly light, and do reps in all directions. When going forward or back I don’t complete the full range of Morion. Fwiw my Physiotherapist did recommend a variation of this using rehab grade rubber bands

Great content. I have spent a solid year focusing on neck development. For so many of us, we try to first just get lean, second build strength, and then eventually focus on weaknesses. Side note, I attach long chains to the kettlebells to reduce the swinging motion.

Hi Michael, I have been following your channel for a while now. Thank you for the value you bring especially through walk on wisdom. I really think you should get a team around your KZbin channel and your social media in general. Your content is top notch, there are just a few missing pieces that prevent it to be at the top of the fitness world. Like your thumbnails for example. A team of young KZbin experts would make a big difference. Just my opinion. Thanks again for your work, can't wait to see you back in the octagon, keep up the good work. See you at the top :)

Great video with exercises that beginners must integrate to avoid injuries quickly. It is true that neck training is fundamental for MMA and both for boxing and wrestling. However, the correct execution is essential so that the vertebras do not damage themselves over the years because there is a life after 50 years (I have 57 of which 41 martial arts - especially boxing). I prefer the same agonist/antagonist movements but with an elastic by changing the tension by a half step or one step, in boxing position. In addition it works the kinetic chains specific to the guard positions, to the structure therefore starting with the supports and ending with the neck! From France

@newmansafan3142 ай бұрын
@@matthewreid1175 True, I was just kinda mentioning him because he made Chandler’s head/neck look like a bobblehead during their fight, and it’s probably why he’s doing these types of workouts now
@newmansafan3142 ай бұрын
@@matthewreid1175 Random question do you think Holloway will dropped by Topuria? It’ll be weird if it happens but I think it’ll be in the way that Charles gets dropped and he just sits there with his arms behind his head. It’s gonna be crazy if Max gets dropped, and I don’t think Topuria will hop on him right away like how he did with Volk
@matthewreid11752 ай бұрын
@@newmansafan314 We just don't know. Justin Gaethje doesn't get the credit he deserves... He's very technical and was able to put max on his ass but max got back into the fight quick. Now will ilia drop Max? I'm leaning towards NO because illia isn't as technical (we just haven't seen Ilia get tested that hard yet) but if illia does drop Max the question is HOW badly will he drop Max? Because if ilia drops max he's going to jump on him probably regardless. And if Ilia drops max bad he will definitely finish him. Ilia hits like a truck but I don't see him doing max like he did with alex being able to sneak in the blitzing tight combinations. I see Ilia vs Max being very close with Holloway probably barely getting the victory IF Max shows up game. Sometimes I feel max isn't able to leave it all out there for some reason.

I agree you should work out the neck to make your body nice and strong everywhere, but I don't think it helps you in fights. The rapid whipping effect from a strike is what bounces your brain and causes you to go out and I don't see any amount of neck training stopping that.

Thats easy bro, you start at the weight you’re able to start on, start light and then slowly work yourself up in weight. Like everything else, you start with what you can work with. If you cant do reps with the wait that means you have to go lighter.
