Ash main here, I personally think a part of why nobody plays Ash is how unique he is compared to all of the other tanks. Managing the rage bar is fun once you get used to it and doing crazy damage always feels good, but it is very different compared to much more simple and popular tanks gameplan like Primo, Bibi, Darryl, Frank, etc.

This is very true, as an ash main, I like when I basically roll the snowball and decimate the enemy team for their rushing hubris. Also very easy to destroy throwers and sharpshooter with full rage.

@@tcjgaming9813 Exactly, there is also fun tricks you can do with him. An example, would be if you were to double tap super to surround yourself with rats so the rats can tank the hits from sharpshooters as you approach. He can be versatile in the right scenario.

As an ash main i find ash's gameplay really fun once you get to maintain a full rage bar and can farm the opponent team, thanks to comboing ults and gadgets you can put huge pressure and literally never die while being a team killer. i love ash 🥲

yo same (though i'm not really Ash "main" but i enjoy him a lot), i assume people don't think his super isn't super flashy and/or not impactful (which is not true) so they don't really stick with him. Plus the main attack takes a while to fire and it doesn't deal much damage at rage level 0 (but it almost one shots Tick with max bar and they never expect that because nobody remembers how much damage he can actually deal lmao)

I think the main reason why Ash is underplayed is because of his learning curve. Lots of other tanks have simple mechanics, while ash has to manage his health & rage at the same time. Also, how the rage meter works isn't fully explained in the game, so lots of people probably don't understand how to play him effectively.

As compared to Barry, Barry has more screentime in his short spotlight of the day he got hired into the candy trio, everyone love his personality contrasting with Mandy and Chester as they are playing around while Barry is just being a hard-worker like Ash, but he has more screentime than Ash.

Thank you for covering Ash, your video is a perfect explanation for the question in the title. I started maining Ash very later after he got released due to how chromatics used to work, and because of the not very appealing desing I wasn't really interested. However, after I unlocked him I felt frustrated and regretful of missing the chance of obtaining the ninja Ash skin. The reason is simple, I was captivated with the mechanics. He is the brawler that is a vastly different than any other brawler which just have simple gameplay with less diversity of playstyles and the lack of difficulty in these playstyles. You need to know a lot of secret tricks and strategies to use Ash to its peak performance. Even though I know my brawler a lot, Its just too hard to compete in high trophies with him especially if your phone and internet quality is trash just like the brawler itself. Anyway, I got my Ash to rank 30 recently and oh boy wasn't it frustrating being hardstuck with shitty randoms in team modes and teamers in sd. Now im gonna be honest this new trio showdown and krabby patties helped me plenty to achieve this due to the power they give that is necessary to accomplish such an objective. Even though it feels like I cheated a bit I would not have given up on rank 30 anyway and will continue pushing until 35. And that is why I personally enjoy playing Ash the most compared to other brawlers and it will keep being my favourite brawler no matter what.

In 800 trophies and in legendary movies, on good ash maps I will see people not immediately try to distance themselves from a full my raged ash. I think people believe it’s a lot harder to get to full rage and dorm play him bc of it

I'd like to add: Ash is very level dependant. A power 11 ash has everything he's designed to have; but a power 1 ash not only lacks his very important star power and gadget, but him having less health directly translates into less potential rage built from taking damage; which is a very important part of his kit when facing teams who know how to stay out of his range or just needing to burst someone down.

Ash was actually very strong last year, in fact he even got a nerf I remember. The meta just doesn't suit him right now, he was strong when Janet & Penny were the best brawlers (both are also very weak right now) and basically all the other tanks were really really bad with no hypercharges.

As an Ash main 'mastering' him isn't that hard; it's just a matter of knowing when to stike, when to retrieve and where to keep pressure once you win your lane. But that's true for most tanks, only difference is that Ash is more min-maxed; its harder to win your lane or aproach the enemy without getting taken down or feeding super, but its easier to keep the pressure and snowball the game: That's when he gets fun. You could say that the risk is too high and the reward too small, but I'd say the reward is not that small; on certain maps, where he can get a good spawn kill set-up, he feels unkillable and he WILL carry games. I really don't know why no one plays him, but tbh id rather keep it that way, he feels more exculsive and I feel cool for owning his mastery title and true gold skin

Why? Does he have a dash? Can he break walls? Is he good in all maps? No? Thats basically why. The brawler need a way to be good in all maps and have something good for mobility. The more mobile, agressive and strong in the meta, the better. Fang, and Frank are two good example. The moment they got buff, you saw them everywhere. Grom tho... Nobody use him concistently since his first nerf, because he is to dependent.

I am an Ash main, and having much experience on him I can tell you once you master Ash, you can become unstoppable if you play him right and know how you can use his super placement correctly. I also thought he could be given the Frank treatment as a rework to his swing speed since it also has a bit of delay but instead of relying on his hp, it relies on his rage. But then I thought, this could be extremely broken because like I said, I'm very good with him and just thinking Ash with near full hp and max rage, and on top of that, his mad as heck star power? Yeah he'll be an even bigger threat than Frank

Ash is seriously out classed by other tanks sadly, it takes too long to really get his rage, let alone maintain it, 3200 damage at max rage is great but why use an unreliable gimmick like rage when you can use bibi for a flat 2800+ damage while also dealing quick knockback (speed or shield depending on sp), why use a normal but thin ranged attack that takes a whole second to hit when you can use frank with higher health, better width, stun and faster unload (depending on health)

not an ash main, but i find that ash can make flashy teamwipe plays though i only have him at 750 the thing that people dont get with ash is about his gears i use heal and super charge once i get to max rage, i wait for max or near max hp too the flashiness comes in when you cycle through your supers really fast, the entire enemy team is looking at the respawn timer, and your teamates start walking up only to see that the map is already empty i use the first ash star power, reload one is really nice for when youre raged, but most of the time you arent raged for long, so the reload goes to waste

I use damage and speed, sometimes extra gear on not so bushy maps. Ash's biggest benifit he has imo is his speed when raged up so that's why I use speed gear, you mostly use him on bushy maps too

I partially disagree with the relatability part. Dynamike isn't relatable, the only fun part about him is that he's obsessed over explosions and can jump. And yet, he's consistently one of the most played brawlers (being of a common rarity also contributes to this tbf) Ash's design isn't bad. It's really the rarity, advertisement and gameplay part that hurts him. His entire gameplay feels like one constant trade off so you never feel like he's consistently strong. Ash's gameplay is similar to Bibi except Bibi is way better (buffs that DON'T take away something from you) and is less punishing. Why using him when you can use Bibi instead? I love Ash concept wise, heck even the gameplay can be fun (when you're winning), but otherwise it feels too frustrating and tiring to use him You know when was the last time i used him? Back in the Godzilla season and never since, even then his mutation had the drawba k of being good only in the City Smash cause you could just chain supers on the zilla. Give my man some love and a break.

You can't 1 vs 1 or stall because of the rage bar. Without a full map with a lot of characters he can't really have potential.

imo its not high skill cap or anything. its because his base kit (no sp no gadget no gear) is so shit. his sp and gadget is REQUIRED to play him properly. most people try brawlers on p1 before they even consider upgrading them, thus ash gets overlooked since people think hes no different after buying sp and gadget.

I think Ash is a solid brawler with the tank power up in the spongebob mode, but he really needs a hypercharge to be really viable (I got Sam a few months ago rank 30 with randoms, and with Ash I only got Rank 29 and my tilts and my mates get worse and worse)

Im one of the few ash mains and his gadgets are dookie. Brawlers like bull bibi, chester, and others can heal without losing damage and speed and others gain buffs without losing health. Ash gets the poor end of the stick

Great video, but it's sad to see all these points made, I actually really like Ash and don't agree with the point that he's boring at all. He can pop off sometimes and it's super satisfying to get those surprise team wipes, and the pill gadget can absolutely carry. Sure low rage can be underwhelming but the first star power helps a ton with that. And I absolutely love his title, as well as his angry Scottish voice and personality!! I guess you're right that most BS players just can't appreciate Ash and his mechanics, what with managing rage, the attack delay and wallpeek, and having to deal with the low initial damage. But I will say those people will never experience the true joy of zooming around with a fully raged Ash and becoming a killing machine. I'm actually glad he's a bit out of the spotlight and doesn't have a HC yet, because it keeps away little kids and prevents him from becoming overplayed and annoying to see like Mortis and Fang. I guess I feel the same way about Sam. I love playing him too cause he's so fun to run around the map with, but managing his super at all times and knowing how to maximize damage isn't that intuitive, so I hardly see anyone else playing him.
