The influencer gasp has been a thing for a long long time. Nikki does it over ever freaking product. James used to do it....they all gasp and make that dumb O face and then start off with something like "OMG YOU GUYSSSS" Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Nikki's was a serious issue for me. I wanted to watch her videos, but everytime she did that sound 'AH!' 'UH!' like someone shoved an elbow into her side (I've heard worse descriptions but I'll be respectful) just pissed me off. And she did it for EVERY.FU€KING.ITEM. and step. The only influencer I trust is my skin, if it likes the product it's a regular if not then I just know not to buy it again and use the product for something else, sometimes flying in blind is better than going of the influence of someone on the Internet you don't even know🙃

influencers reviewing these products with filters on is crazy

Honestly most makeup works fine whether it’s high end or drugstore, doesn’t really matter. These influencers are just trying to get a check and it’s annoying as all hell. It’s always fake, even the people you trust have an agenda or a promo or a sponsorship, you gotta just go with what appeals to you.

Wasnt Manny the one who lied about loving a foundation after criticizing it throughout his whole review? For a check? 😂

Yup and he was dragged a lot back in the day for it but he's still going pretty strong. Not so much with youtube but with his brand at the least it seems

this makes me realize that my country’s beauty gurus are pretty great, they do proper reviews that shows what the product is like, even spray their whole faces with water to show how the foundation holds and dries lol, they’re way less dramatic too even in the sponsored posts only saying that a product is “good” without saying why and what it’s like means nothing
@yunfern22 Жыл бұрын
This is exactly why I deleted my tik tok account. It’s nothing but drama now and these influencers are so full of themselves.

I stopped buying anything youtubers mentioned YEARS ago because every time i did, they didn’t work and i got tired of convincing myself that we had prob different skin types or something. But the moment pandemic hit, we were all on tiktok and genuine people kept saying to try cerave and let me tell you… i ended up buying almost 10 products out of pure blind faith AND THE FREAKING WORKED, my skin has been cleared since 2020 after years of acne but skip to today and you see NOBODY using cerave, it’s all trendy crappy pretty lotions again that are so obviously sponsored so…. I’m not trusting them… nope. I’m not buying anything tiktok says anymore.

I stared following dermatologists on social media! I’ve learned so much about skin care and most of the stuff they recommend is at the drug store.
@minkakemi Жыл бұрын
@@sarahisroaming me too!!!! But even the dermatologists I'm following are starting to do weird stuff too... Like, they recommend a new sunscreen every week... Or they try eye creams when back in 2020 they said they were pointless cause they were no different than a regular lotion... Idk, i lost that blind faith, the new sunscreen it's what feels the most icky, cause is sunscreen you know? I need ONE that actually blocks the sun, and it's not like I can really tell 🥲🥲

omg yes Cerave SAVED my skin, I had severe cystic acne from years of using expensive trendy influencer-recommended skincare products, I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way that sometimes cheap, simple and scientifically-proven is best! it ain’t trendy cause it’s not ✨aesthetic✨ packaging but my skin is flawless and it damn well works!

I always found beauty influencers bs. Everyone has a different skin, oil production and all that jazz. Just go to the store and test it there to see how it looks on your skin. These liars get paid 300k to say the product is like the tears of God himself but you can not compare it. What works for Karen might now work for Susan.

i love Glamzilla because she is such a sweet person and in all fairness to her, there are products that she tried that she did not like or wouldn't recommend, . but if there are things that need to be addressed, i still believe they need to be more transparent so they won't lose the trust of their followers.

I think people shouldn't trust ANY influencer. If you see a product they're pushing, do further research before rushing out to purchase the product. Read reviews, ask friends, ask actual MUA's that aren't tRyInG to SeLl you a PrOdUcT. Whether OG beauty YT, or New-Age TikTok's; do your research.

I’m surprised that anyone expected these TikTok influencers to be any different 💁🏽♀️ when money is involved, people are ready to sell their souls.

Amen. Ok TikTok is garbage and I have never supported it and I NEVER WILL. I cant wait for it to shut down for good. Someday it will. Tumblr died. Myspace died. Twitter is almost dead. Pinterest is dying. Someday Facebook and Instagram will be dead too. Maybe. But these trend sites will certainly die off one by one.

By now we know we can't trust that community. Regarding got2be, I wanna share, they are known for their extreme hairglue and there's no reason to be surprised of the extra finish. Beside that, they have an iconic hair matt-paste and last year I got their blush and till this day it's the best I've ever got, it's powdery and creamy at the same time and way better than Kylie's in my opinion. My comment is not sponsored, I just want to give them credit for the great products. :D

I don't trust most creators, to be honest. I trust probably three beauty creators and none of the onea that I trust don't do beauty sponsored videos. They will do sponsorships, but they are open and up front about it, and they are unrelated to beauty (think Thrive Market, Casetify, etc.) so there is no conflict of interest. That is the way to do it and be trusted!
