@@darlalathan6143 However, working as a nurse, where people actually die, I can confirm that there is a lot of supernatural activity in hospitals. My most convincing example was one night, when I was doing regular infusion pump checks, the pump stand very helpfully rolled several inches towards me without any apparent means of propulsion. I worked in a 300 year old hospital in Bristol and virtually every ward had a ghost story attached to it, from doors snapping shut and refusing to open to the partial floating torso of a Victorian nurse and a female 'visitor' with long black hair and no face. I guess they mostly don't hang around long enough to get to the funeral parlour.

The confusion about astronauts being left behind stems from not understanding that there was a CAMERA left behind that filmed the takeoff of the moon lander. The tripod had a little motor that tilted the camera so it could follow the lander going up. No human was left behind. I can think of a few humans that I wish NASA would fly to the moon and leave there.

For the Neil Armstrong photo question, I believe they were talking about the video of Niel descending the ladder for the "One small step for man..." quote. And the answer is simple, they had a camera on a mechanism ready to extend into position to capture the moment before they ever left Earth, since it was going to be such a historical event. You don't actually need someone holding the camera for a camera to function, even back in 1969.

The big thing about English accents that most don't tend to notice is that a lot of it comes down to tones and vowels. You can *tell* when someone's British based on how they pitch a phrase, before you even hear their rhotic. And there are really specific vowel placements in an American English accent that are different for each location, and none of them are quite the same as the vowels used in Received Pronunciation English from the UK. As for your question about "he'll" and "she'll" and so on, no one I know says it as "hull" or "shull". We say it more like "Hill" and "Shill." Though, certain American accents *do* use the schwa. In those cases, if that's what you're trying to emulate, you need to be extra careful to say the vowel as quickly as possible so that you don't overemphasize it and make it sound clunky. You might start picturing it as [h'll] or [sh'll], since most english speakers will put a schwa between two consonants in a consonant cluster (because i hate english speakers and our language deserves to go extinct).

@Thorne-In-Your-Side
@Thorne-In-Your-Side Жыл бұрын
@MaryAnnNytowl Well, I appreciate it, but we're talking about vernacular and dialects. Dialects are different per area. There's no one way to pronounce anything in English and the myth of "proper" English is immature at the least. heel and sheel are just as valid as hill and shill. Hull and shull, as she's saying it, is only inaccurate because she's doing an impression of an accent that she isn't emulating perfectly.

I have heard that people being said to live for hundreds of years in the Bible is actually another mistranslation. The ages given are not in solar years but in lunar months. So divide all the ages by 12 to get the real figure. That would mean that Noah lived not to 900 years but to age 75.

2:14 Not all demons are in some of the Narakas, Netherworlds, the Expanse or Kadath Mandala. Some already exist in the human realm and can influence people in different ways, even downright possess them. This is why the different Devil Summoner organizations exist, like the Kuzunohas and Yatagarasu. But this also means some people can summon demons in physical form, which is made of magnetite. But summoning a demon means even normal people can see and interact with them, which carries the potential of causing panic that will escalate into the end of the world which is usually triggered by divine forces. So thanks KZbin but mostly thank you, Emma. You're the best Emma. Can't wait to see you there again. Maybe Secular Sexuality next time?

I think I would have been into Secular Sexuality had it been around when I was younger. I had already discovered my fondness for BDSM and polyamory at that point, and I've always been an atheist, but I can see it being a resource for people who feel isolated because their sexual orientation or something is outside of what they're used to and they don't have much community. I know an ex-Mormon very well who is also very kinky and bi and since she grew up in Utah she had to keep it a secret. She only told her best friend. I think she would have benefited from a resource that connected her with other people who could relate

This is the first video of yours I've seen and I am subbed now! You are delightful and very funny! Tried to leave a link to a video to help with the he'll, she'll thing but it got deleted. The title is "How to Pronounce He'll, She'll, We'll, You'll, They'll, It'll, and Why You Should Use Them" and the info is at about 3:20 in that video. When I say those contractions quickly, the sound more like a soft 'e' or soft 'i' or something in between. If I'm not speaking quickly or if the contractions are at the beginning of words, they usually stay with the long 'e' like in 'heal'.

I worked several years in a cemetery in the evening. This was in the 1970s. Believe it or not, I was a computer operator. There were bodies on display in the neighboring ("neighbouring?") slumber rooms. That's what they really call them -- slumber rooms. Sometimes I would step outdoors into the dark and walk around a bit. Not once did I see or hear anything mysterious or puzzling. It was wonderfully peaceful at late at night. Also, unless you're really interested in learning American accents (there are many), such as you're an actor learning to play parts that depict Americans, then you needn't bother. I love British accents. I love yours. Yours is perfectly understandable. I have strong, rhotic "R" sounds wherever Rs appear in words. You don't. That's fine. I understand you perfectly.

2:26 Serious answer: the first images of the first astronaute to land his boots on the moon's surface for the first time were recorded by a camera mounted on the lunar module, specifically designed and added there to be able to perform this task of immortalizing this historical moment. This camera was remotly operated from inside the lunar module, I believe. Not to be mixed up with the camera used to film the departure form the moon, which was operated directly from Earth - which explains why for the Apollo 11 mission, the departure is badly filmed: the communication delay between Earth and Moon made it pretty difficult to center the camera on the ascending module. On later missions, they did a better job at giving orders to the camera just sufficiently in advance to have a better view of the module's take off. (/Nerd off)

When the flood waters reached 29,000 feet (the summit of Mt. Everest, called "the death zone") all the passengers aboard the Ark froze to death or ran out of oxygen. No one survived. The alleged locations of the Ark may have contained a geological formation or timbers buried in a glacier but the dead passengers did not repopulate the earth. My condolences to creationists over their lost battle with the Laws of Nature.

That wouldn't actually happen. When the waters reached the top of Everest that would be the new sea level, so the air pressure and temperature would be fine. Remember that all the air would be pushed upwards along with the Ark. Ignoring of course all the other ways that dumping that much water onto the Earth would destroy it forever.
