The reason bisexual women are often dating men is that they are attracted to men and women, and there are more men who want to date women than women who want to date women. I think it's weird when people say "she's not bisexual. She's dating a man!" That is the most probable outcome!

There's the benefit of still presenting as straight. Like having to deny a core part of yourself sucks, don't get me wrong. But there is also the comfort of knowing you don't have to be out to anyone you don't feel safe around if you are in a straight presenting relationship. And even for people who were out in the past ("kissed a couple of girls in college") might find it just, well easier, to be with a man. There are so many societal reasons that it's better for a woman to be with a man and it's frankly embarrassing that people can't see that.

The presenting there just means how other people are going to interpret the relationship with only the knowledge of the sex of the two people in said relationship. This is totally doable. In middle high, I taught myself to curse to the fictional god Crom when upset. For example, the people who developed nuclear technology, the nuclear pile, the atomic bomb were top people who came from various parts of Europe to the USA, were all geniuses. That’s the kind of stuff I knew as a teen but then I started to see George Bush on canadian news. Eventually, I learned about the Colorado 2005 trial. They wanted to remove parts that mention Evolution theory. Some guy donated of Panda’s and People to the school, which is illegal. Some lady was corners during the trial. She admitted for removing a mural that the students painted, that showed an earlier form evolving to a Homo sapien. Then I found out 46 to 49% of united statians believe the universe is 6000 y bc of the Bible. In any case, religion is a fascinating topic.

But sure, more seriously... it's not just religious anti-science views, there's also issues with how schools are funded (badly), how government money is distributed (keeps the underprivileged and uneducated in that state), how few Americans travel (travel rates are so low, most people aren't exposed to different countries and ideas), the ideology the kids are taught in school (that the US is always better), they think their government is a democracy (in a number of US states it definitely isn't), told their rights are king (yet compared to the rest of developed world they have significantly fewer rights), etc. It's an endless list, and it's kind of like a self serving beast that never gets better for the US.

I concur with that commenter who talked about how child Emma was strong and brave. We tend to not give ourselves enough credit for not just surviving childhood (and related traumas) but also becoming very different people than the those who raised us. I love watching your videos because you are silly, intelligent, present fact- and logic-based arguments, and have a much better understanding of religion than many theists. I feel a sort of kinship with you as someone who studied religion in college and promptly became an atheist because of it. I also love listening to your wonderful voice. If you narrated audio books, I would buy them.

Hey Emma. A very new subscriber here. I'm loving your content. So many people need to embrace that whole "don't take yourself so seriously" kind of vibe. I watch a lot of atheist and LGBTQ+ creators who tackle the big dirty subjects with the seriousness and grit that is often required. I enjoy their content and will continue to watch them. However, your lighthearted approach to often heavy matters is sometimes just what is needed. You remind me that I often need to take things a bit less seriously. Seriously, if we laugh at the haters they lose all their power over us. (Yeah they can institute changes in laws, harrass us, and make our lives a living hell, but just the hate comments really are very trivial.) It might seem to some like you are just laughing about heavy shit, but it is really a great life lesson. I am way WAY older than you, and your attitude is a great example for my everyday life. Absolutely nothing, but their persecution complex is alive and well. Many of them don’t know who they are without it. They _have_ to be persecuted, and if that means they have to make it up or delude themselves, that’s what they will do. A favorite go-to of theirs is pretending that when someone else’s right to freedom _from_ religion is protected by law, it’s a personal attack against Christianity and them personally. It’s a joke, but they’ve gotten pretty good at twisting the law and weaponizing _freedom of religion_ in that way. The ADF, or Alliance Defending Freedom, which is a joke of a name and already gaslighting you in that way, argues those cases in court. They protect the right of American christians to shove their religion down someone else’s throat, or discriminate against lgbtq members, in the name of “religious freedom”. Anyway, when they lose, or when cases like that don’t go their way, it’s “persecution”, an “attack” on Christianity.. 🤷‍♂️ Their delusion and persecution complex isn’t going anywhere, sadly, because organizations like the ADF legitimize it.
