It's similar to the nihilism/anti-nihilism divide. Nihilists realize that there isn't any real intrinsic meaning to existence, we are all just insignificant motes of dust- and this is quite a depressing idea, that often leads to dour, reclusive nihilists. Anti-nihilists accept the premise but reject the conclusion- they would say, sure, we don't have intrinsic meaning, life does not have some grand goal, and we are all insignificant in the grand scheme of things.... so instead of being depressed about that, instead we will choose to focus on the meaning that we ourselves assign to things. We may not be important to the stars and celestial bodies, but we are important to one another- the love and community ties that we form, the help we offer to the helpless, the improvement we create within ourselves. Just because we aren't important on a global scale doesn't mean we aren't important to ourselves or to those around us, and that love will be what carries us through, even if the very heavens themselves never cared or noticed.

The river is made of the riverbed and the water flowing in it. On my NDE i saw my life as a riverbed which got filled with pure water made of light. It made all sense, I understood it. There is not "one" you, nor are there other "yous", nor is there "no you". The light, the water, whatever you call it, it is unnamable because it is the observing not the obserable. Your body, my body, the body of the world are all connected through the different paths of the river. Yet they all rejoin togehter. The water, the light, the unnamable flows through the riverbeds, giving life to all bodys. In this model or vision you might end up with the conclusion that the unnamable is one thing. But thats the problem, the vision needs to put the unnamable into a form, so the counscious mind can understand, can see, see itself. In many religions it is said that god is everywhere and lives within everybody. That god is the light, illuminating all things. I wonder, if God illuminates everything, can he see his own light? Or does he reside in eternal darkness not knowing what he is? Perhaps, God needs us the same as we need god. Maybe it comes down to the yin and yang symbolism. The two are one, but if they are one, they are none. From nothingness they emerge back to life and back to death and so on. It is all their dance. Or maybe nothing is pretending to be anything other than what it is, and the act of "pointing", of "speech itself" is the only illusion there is. The illusion which is also its own reality. Yin and yang? Nothing but letters on a screen. Listen to the rain, watch the clouds, taste an apple. Can you see it now?

Here is the way to prove completely that solipsism is wrong: " Firstly, for the whole of a thing, nothing exists more than all the parts that make up the thing itself. --> All of that one thing cannot create another new thing that is not a part of, any part of, or all of that one thing and can only provide, transfer,... part, all parts, nothing, all of that one thing, any part,... of itself or of that one thing because when observe, measure,... in detail, till the end, rigorously,... all of what, how, where, why,... happened, even there is, are,... new one thing, new things, another thing, different thing,... that emerge, exist,... which is, are,... not a part of, any part of or all the parts of that initial one thing, things,... and that is, are,... not come, existed, emerged,... from as a part of, any part of, or all of that initial one thing then all of initial one thing, things,... is separated, is not relevant, is different, do nothing, do not provide, transfer,... any part of, anything of or all of itself, do not create, is not included, is independent,... from, to, of, ∅,... that, these,... new one thing, new things, another thing, different thing,... that emerge, exist,... which is, are,... not a part of, any part of or all the parts of that initial one thing, things,... and that is, are,... not come, existed, emerged,... from as a part of, any part of, or all of that initial one thing because when measure, observe, thought experiment,... in detail, till the end, rigorously,..., all of that initial one thing, things,... is still there, is still in the initial position, have not been lost any part, all parts,...,... but what existed after, the new one thing, another thing, different thing,... which is, are,... not a part of, any part of or all of that initial one thing and that is, are,... not come, existed, emerged,... from as a part of, any part of, or all of that initial one thing and that still exists, emerges,... is,... come, created, existed, emerged,... from the nearest, right next to, closest,... point of, position of, point compare to where, point relative to the location of, point relative to that, space of,... all of the initial one thing, all of the initial things,... is, are, ∅... or based on personal perspective, the new one thing, things, another thing, different thing,... which is, are,... not a part of, any part of or all of that initial one thing and that is, are,... not come, existed, emerged,... from as a part of, any part of or all the parts of that initial one thing, things,... is, are,... come, existed, emerged, created,... from nothing (not have volume, not anything,...) where right next to, nearest to, closest to, closest of,... all of that, these,... initial one thing, things,...,... . Finally, there are,... all of that initial one thing, things,... and what existed after, the new one thing, things, another thing, different thing,... that still exists, emerges,... and which is, are,... not a part of, any part of or all of that initial one thing and that is, are,... not come, existed, emerged,... from as a part of, any part of, or all of the initial one thing, things,... in 2, 3,..., n but not 1, 0, -1,..., (-n) different, exact, complete,... positions, locations,... . Secondly, the problem, question,... is "Is that everything,... comes from this position where my mind, my senses,... is, are,...?" The solution,... is to measure, experiment, self-experiment, observe, reason,... in detail, till the end, exactly, completely,... to prove completely that a part of, any part of, or all of the thing, the brain, the mind, senses,... that we, I,... feel, measure,... is not going anywhere or not going to where the external thing that we perceive, measure, observe,... is at, in,... or only, ∅,... stay where they, it,... is, are,... at, in,... and the external,... world that we perceive, observe, measure,... have not come from as a part of, any part of, or all of our mind, our sense, our complete self but come to our sense and is a completely different thing, another thing, a completely different person, another person, other things,... from a part of, any part of, or all of our, my,... self, senses, mind,... . Additionally, there are gaps in the amount of whole the parts, atoms,... when we do self-experiment, measurement, observation,... in two consecutive time points when right before the external thing,... reaches,... us, myself,... and right after it,... reaches,... us, myself,... in the system, process,... under consideration that we can observe, experiment, self-experiment, and measure,... in detail, rigorously, till the end,... . More specifically, this shows that there are more amount of atoms, things,... that exist,... in this system, at the endpoint of this process,... under consideration compared to the whole amount of atoms, things,... at, in,... the initial, first point of,... this system, process,... under consideration and that there are more amount of things,... that exist,... right after external things,... reaches,... us,... than, compared to,... the whole amount of the initial things,... in the initial system when right before the external thing,... reaches,... us, myself,... and in the endpoint of process, the end time point of the process,... the initial things,... which is our initial selves, my initial self,... is still conservative, preserved,... in the initial number of atoms, parts,... of itself while there are new things, other things,... that exist, emerge, appear,... in addition,... which are not ourselves, from our self,... but come from or come to the nearest space,... of,... whole ourselves, myself,... or come from or come to anywhere else where is not the exact, complete,... position,... of,... whole ourselves, myself,... . This finally shows that the total things in this system have increased and that shows the evidence of the external thing, world, bigger world than myself,...,... that is not only ourself, myself,... . You can see more things like force which is the interactions of external things and ourselves, or other physical phenomena but what I wrote before is enough to prove completely that there is an external world, things,... that are not only us, ourselves,... but even bigger,... than ourselves,... . To sum up, there is,... an external world,... that does not come from where I, my mind, my senses,... is, are, am,... and there is,... an external world,... that does not come as a part of, any part of, or all of I, my mind, my senses,... is, are, am,... and there is,... the world, the external world,... that I, my mind, my senses, my body,... have not or can not create, created,... but, then, and,... this, these, the,... world, external world,... still, ∅,... exists, differs, is not,... other than, outside from, from, ∅, outside, more than, beyond,... only myself, myself, oneself, yourself,... ." Does anyone else feel that they are the only real person here and that everyone else are just actors like in the Truman Show or NPCs like in the Matrix or just characters in a dream? That would explain why people don't make sense and can't see obvious things that I see. Interesting question: When you are in a dream, you can talk to other people in the dream. So are the people in your dream self-aware and sentient and conscious? If not and they are merely creations of your own mind, then how do you know if people in the waking real world are real and self-aware or not? It's impossible to know. Any of you think about this too? Another possibility is shared solipsism, which is that there are a few real people or real souls in this matrix or dream, but most people are NPCs. Matt from the Quantum of Conscience channel talks about this and that's why most people are not awake at all.

Things have been happening recently, things I can’t understand why they are happening, but they HAVE happened. A year ago I had dreams of the future. Dreams of my future, what I would see and hear through my eyes and ears. Even my actions. Memories of different lives, memories of fictional characters that would have happened in the future. An example is how I dream the entirety of Rick and Morty season 7. The most notable memories being the parts about how in the Finale episode, I was observing and experiencing everything from both Morty’s perspective, and a disembodied camera perspective. I remember screaming the most guttural scream ever when I realized Rick wasn’t in the fear hole with me, I remember kicking in the door to the Dennys, I remember being Charlie Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel and singing the same songs she did, I had full control over my actions, and what I did in the dream fucking happened in the series. Then there were the times where it was my own future, I remember watching Vox singing Stayed gone before the series even aired, and in the corner of my eye I could see the letters ntsg. Ntsg is a Hazbin hotel episode leaker, but I dont understand why I had a dream about the episode before it was even available through the early access. Let alone the Rick and Morty episodes. I remember being a black guy trapped in a flying alien ship, with strings that could unlock the door from the inside of the cell. I remember dreaming of the latest Alastor rap by Daddyphatsnap before it came out. A white haired blue Shego singing a cover version of Kim possible’s intro song, which ended up being a cover done by the vtuber Analee. Things are not what they seem in this universe, I could be living in a time loop, or the more terrifying idea. Is that solipsism is true, and I can predict what will happen next in my dreams.

if ur conclusion is that "a belief that self is the only thing that can be verified to exist" is the same thing as "a belief that u r the only thing that exists", then it doesn't seem like u understand what solipsism is- there's a difference between solipsism and solipsism syndrome solipsism is a mere way of looking at the world around u and urself, rather than a confirmation of the existence or inexistence of anything else than urself like u put it

absolutely this. I think my own solipsism stems from being such a recluse, but I'm almost immediately relieved from it whenever I interact or see strangers who act in subtly chaotic ways. A comment here compared it when you dreams, but my dreams are honestly very predictable in hindsight or familiar when I wake up and have a chance to remember them. It's nothing like when I go out in in public and see other people doing invested in stuff I give 0 fucks about. I've really grown an appreciation for every sort of hobby or tradition existing because of this.

This 3000 year old idea has been proposed over and again. And, if you are a Solipsist, then you face two both historical as well as existential problems. You cannot apprehend any other mind, irregardless; and two, - the 'meaning' alone cannot ever be twice understood. You can carry philosophical thought to the very perimeter of sanity. Many have done just that, - gone over the edge ! Use Ludwigstein's analytical phil. and Camus's existentialism and with some courage, - you won't need Solipsism to 'fall over'.

So let me get this right Is it that only I exist Or that we only exist in our own worlds

It is that only I exist, solipsism is classified as extreme version of subjective idealism, which means that there are only subjects who create objects and their surroundings in their own mind (objects and reality completely depend on the perceiving subject), while solipsistic person also has skeptical view on the existence of other perceiving subjects/minds who are not the person itself, not only outer material objects.

Yeah I’m good leaving this where it’s at. I don’t fancy digging any more in this, as it’s just going to back round to “why it even existed in the 1st place”. I think because the human brain is vastly neurotic within its own capacity, it wants to give itself a meaning. People who support this theory may want to seem edgy or ignore all that is wrong with the world, and it’s wrong doing since millennia till present date and for centuries to come, yet as the theory suggest, it is merely just that- your imagination. Question then is back to the “why” what is the point/purpose of it. Additionally, if nothing exist and you’re just imagining it, that also means you don’t exist, so that begs the question- what are we all waiting for? Let’s all break loose, set the whole world on fire, and destroy everything that exists in it. Since nothing exists, what is stopping you from doing this? 🤔

Hard solipsism is the position that only I exist but that depends on the definition of existence and the "i". An activity may be all that is happening but that entail an activity is an existent. Therefore, we can conclude that an activity is the happening or changes of something that exists and if you are the activity then you are grounded in something that exists and thus, hard solipsism can be refuted. Definitions (1) "I" refers to an activity/event (2) Existent refers to that a spatial substance that grounds an activity/event Premise 1. Events are not Existents Premise 2. If I am an event, then Solipsism (the view that "I" am all that exists) is false Premise 3. I am an event. Conclusion. Solipsism is self refuting and logically impossible as it contradictory and engages on in a category error and equivocation fallacy
