the reveal about the spell casters and how that ties into the watchmen series and rudos past has opened the door for some of the best reveals in anything in terms of how it ties the rest of the story together. its almost been 100 chapters and for as much as weve learned we dont know anything about the deeper lore of the world and considering how long its been just to get to that i feel like this is just the start for the series and i couldnt be more excited.@@DomoSenpai

not saying thats a bad thing btw i love that this series is more character and world focused rather then mainly fights like most battle shonen, im just saying since we barley learned this now the series has to have much more its hiding up its sleeves.

Your chapter 1 review got me into Gachi, that’s the only reason I knew abt it. Edit: 3:35 I saw a video about how Gachi wasn’t as good as people said it was because of how slow it when there were only 22 chapters I believe. The very next chapter basically negated all of his arguments about it Gachi. If more people gave it like a few minutes of thought, they’d realize 22 chapters it’s really Rudo getting used to the very bare bones of this new world he’s been thrown into. When the early chapters of Gachi come to my mind I think of me as reader and Rudo just being confused and around the same time Rudo got it I got it. I feel like that was because the story took some time explaining and not just boxing earlier.

Let's be honest the reason is actually a lot more simple then we think it's prabobaly because it hasn't goten a anıme yet it's actually really rare and often only in shonen that a manga gets really famous before a anime the only one i can think of is chainsaw man aside from that other manga don't really get that much hype before anıme for example I didn't even know that series like frieren or dungeon meshi even existed before they got a anıme and I really like both of those series

>Assistant to Okubo That explains a lot. I started reading Gachiakuta last month (still need to catch up), and one of the first things I noticed about the art and aesthetic was that it gave off heavy Okubo vibes. Also, I've been seeing it pop up a lot over the last year whether it be direct recommendations or just in passing. I think the two main reasons are that it hasn't gotten an anime yet and that the top mangas in shonen jump (one piece and Jujutsu kasien and My hero academia) are nearing their end so they are getting more hype and more people are reading them instead of something newer like kagurabachi or gachiakuta . I'm certain after atleast jujutsu kaisen ends Kagurabachi is gonna skyrocket

As I am someone who prefer physical copies of any sort of books, they sadly aren't picked up by any Indonesian publisher for local publishing. So the only way you can get a physical copy is through international shipping, which with Indonesian currency is so frickin expensive.

You might have this backwards somehow, at least when it comes to distribution and promotion. How does a series get a pop up event for tankoban releases? If it has a fan base. They don’t hold these type of events for every series you know, they do it for the popular ones. In certain EU countries, certain series have great fan bases that get a lot of support, not every series. Also, which region are you speaking of specifically? Because without examining specific scenarios, it makes you come across as cherry picking. The fact of the matter is, France has always had a bigger manga fan base than most countries, and bigger fan bases for certain series as well than most countries. By that, just because a certain series is a hit in France, Italy, or other EU countries, they don’t necessarily extrapolate to worldwide popularity. Some series may be more popular in some EU countries than even Japan. That’s not to dismiss your example or questioning the merits of any series, though it is true your example doesn’t prove a point. When was the last time you saw another series more popular than Gachiakuta holding release events outside of France or Italy? Or another series not quite as popular as Gachiakuta holding release events? What we can gather from these examples is which series has a strong fan base in which country to garner support for release events as you referenced, that’s the extend of it. Going further would be speculation unless you have other supporting points. Accessibility wise, I’m somewhat with you. On the one hand, if you want to read the series, a simple Google search would find you the entire series to the latest chapter free to read, DMCA be damned. Though your point is applicable to a degree as Kodansha doesn’t have a good online platform for its library, it is rarer for its series to find breakout success pre anime adaptation. As for the merit of the series itself, Gachiakuta doesn’t do it for me. You might like the way the eyes are drawn, as do I, but having a significant portion of your cast of characters having those deranged psychotic bugged eyes ever so often may not vibe with some people. I can do certain types of character pulling off those expressions, having a bunch of characters do it on the regular is a bit much. I also find the story lacking any pulls for me to follow it. It’s not that it is slow with the extended world building, I actually think the pace is fine and engaging, I just don’t vibe with the story. It’s a very paint by the number shonen plot. The trash aspect of the series is somewhat interesting to me, though might not be enticing for some of general public. So that leaves the art style, what could be its best attribute. The art style is unique and different enough, though that in or itself may or may not be a positive. You clearly dig it. I personally like that it is different, but I’m ambivalent about it, for example the eyes as mentioned. I’m not exactly saying you’re wrong, it is just about a given the series will get an anime around the corner, and it will definitely continue to get more popular with or without an anime. I’m just drawing attention to whether your points are applicable.
