There’s also the case of a South Korean village in the DMZ area that had a big flag pole. So the North Koreans set up a bigger one on their side. The US gifted the South Korean village with an even bigger pole and the North Koreans responded by making theirs something around 150m tall. Effectively double the height the South Korean flag stood.

There also is insufficient rebar in the concrete. It's amazing the structure is still standing. This is why the hotel is primarily still empty. The support beams cannot support the weight of all the guests, staff, equipment, etc.

Well, that’s easy to deduce: 1.- No one in the entire country has enough money to afford staying at a fancy hotel (other than politicians that have equally fancy homes) 2.- International tourism is EXTREMELY limited. With these two points and some of your other videos, we can ascertain that running an extremely large hotel that will see next to no use is extremely expensive for a country that keeps its economy afloat by stealing money, which the people in power would rather spend in nukes and luxury goods for themselves.

Funnily enough I’ve spent several nights on a couple of occasions at the Westin Stamford in Singapore & a very comfortable and efficient, if somewhat sterile, place it is too. I had no idea it was built by a (South) Korean company, but my current car is from there too and I’m very happy with it. I doubt anyone outside North Korea will be driving a vehicle designed or manufactured there in the next several decades, sadly for its impoverished citizens.

Apparently they have used it on some special occasions. They've housed troops in it in preperation for there large parades and used it as on oddly shaped warehouse. At most the first 5 floors though the rest has to be empty with maybe a couple people staying there to turn the lights on and off.
